We’ve won 2 on the bounce with an aggregate score of 6-0 and gone clear in 2nd, even if others win their games in hand.  We’re now back to psychoanalysing everything Warne and his staff say.  You couldn’t make it up!!

I think the Lincoln team need their piss testing ASAP.  11 goals in 2 games.  3 points of the playoffs now.  Don't know what's happening there other than this league is bobbins which I already knew.

To be honest the big two takeaways for me, from admittedly a very quick read through and a complete lack of understanding of accounting is

    1) much like under Mel, for the club to really balance it the books, the. We need an academy that is developing assets that have a maximum sale value and be willing to move players on when the time is right. Our current loss could easily be offset by 2-3 academy products being sold who really reach their potential.

    2) I do wonder that this £36 million interest fee debt the club owe Clowes is a bit of a signal to say ‘if someone wants to buy the club, this is what I want’ or atleast an investor would need to be looking to clear a decent chunk of that debt. Just a thought because I do think you have to try and clear those debts, because you either do a Mel and add more and more debt as an easy option or it ends up coming out of promotion packages when those recourses could be used elsewhere.

The best ones will reach their potential having been nicked for a million a piece at 16, whilst the academy being run to find and train them runs at about 5 million a year.  That's an issue not solvable till we are pushing for a premier league place and can dangle that carrot.  Cat 1 is no good for League 1.

  3. MMA and boxing are very different skill sets.  This mixing will eventually get someone killed by punch or kick.  Blokes head was gone on second knockdown.  Seen a lot of knockouts and he was probably a few pounds of pressure away from serious brain injury. The whole thing is ridiculous

  4. Leicester fart in everyone's faces again whilst getting away with it .  That plucky fairytale club that won the league by spending millions after paying nobody.

    https://talksport.com/football/1777510/efl-close-rules-loophole-leicester/

Clubs in the Premier League and Championship believe Leicester have broken the top division's £105million loss limit for the three years ending last season.

However, the Foxes could still seal their promotion back to the top flight before they are punished for any potential breaches.

Rival clubs could therefore seek legal action if spending rules are breached this season but a points deduction is avoided due to promotion being secured.

Fourth-placed Southampton are among the clubs closely monitoring the situation to see if they gain an unfair sporting advantage.

We should have done this with QPR

Nah, he loves it against his former teams

Surprised he didn’t give us a bit earlier this season

He shouldn't. We increased his wage by 25% for 3 years when he was half the player.  He should be kissing our collective beanbag.

     Another win please!

Would love to see a comfortable result, but I'll accept the 3 points gained any way it takes!

    Brissle Rovers 0 - DCFC 2

    FRGS Sibbo

Seem to play best in the more difficult ones. wins over Stevanage, Oxford, Portsmouth and Bolton and narrow 2-1 defeat to Barnsley in the last 15.  defeats to Northampton, Burton, Fleetwood.

    1-1

    I was just thinking this.

Given thar we probably won't have the money to compete with most clubs at championship level (how times change), is it better to be in and around it in League One than being in that tedious race to get to 50 points and breathe a sigh of relief?

    That's Nigel territory!

    No.  This league is awful.

It also didn’t help that Jewell sold the spine of our attack in Oakley & Howard (to Leicester) and brought in Savage & Villa who were inferior,

Howard was a million miles out of his depth at top level.  Oakley and Jones, who had a fair few prem years after he left, were bad sales.  Oakley had said he wanted out when Davies went but I don't think he was pushed to stay.   I don't think it helped when he started doing double training sessions for a squad who were seriously struggling for any cohesion or character.  They were just knacked and ripe for obliteration for two months. I don't know why Earnshaw only got 10 minutes here and there as we weren't blessed with pace with Barnes missing most of the season.  We bought him then replaced him with Miller after three games.

Love your optimism. W H Utd and Villa are from big cities, with £Billionaire owners . Teams like Spurs and Chelsea aren’t bad off either . Clowes has a 4 year plan to get settled in the Championship .Warne is finding it hard to keep up with the expectations of some fans .

Brighton then ?.  I've no doubt Clowes would sell should we get to a certain position.  Top 6 six championship and billionaire incoming.

Why? There was the maximum of 3 points available and both teams dropped 2 points, picking up only a point each, 2 points in total rather than the 3 available. Not rocket science.

I refer you to previous answers

It’s not just what happens this weekend. There are seven rounds of games before Barnsley play their game in hand.

In my view a Bolton win was better as it stands as we still need to play them.  The amount of comments I've made to justify my viewpoint I may be making them till they've played that game in hand.  As it stands a Bolton win was better with us still to play them. I won't be changing my mind but future games may make it moot.

We were just as good as Man Utd in the 70’s but they have left us in the dust and are now worth over £5 Billion . They have built themselves into a Worldwide brand . Bigger than any NFL team . If we are ever going to get anywhere near the top 6 in the next 50 years - There would have to be massive changes in football. A small step would be the end of Parachute Payments .

We were a lot better.  Top six is always achievable though.  Look at Villa and West ham. Top 3 is pretty much a closed shop.

We cant keep saying if they win their game in hand. There is more games to go besides that.

They may not. They might lose at the weekend and we win.  Based on current position I just think a Bolton win would have been preferable with us to play them.

Surely you’d take the draw over Barnsley winning (which very nearly happened)?

Not sure where this Barnsley winning is coming from.  I wanted Barnsley to get zero points . That's been my stance for a fortnight for reasons already listed.

I personally will never forgive the ineptitude and lack of fight in that season , embarrassing is a mild term to describe it and hate it when we get mentioned in the media for it....lame useless gutless and probably never to be beaten

I agree.  They tried till February but then brought in 5 or 6 football mercenaries who couldn't give a s*** and played dead half the time.  This just made the problem worse.  They've since cashed in further on their lack of b******* and ineptitude by flogging it too the highest bidder for parody betting skits.

The gumps doing that is the most tinpot thing i've ever heard of. Fatty thinking he can buy the decisions like he does in Greece.

Clattenburg takes a job where the only requisite is throwing his mate under the bus.

I can imagine his interview with the narcissistic fatty and his cringeworthy CEO  probably went similar to this.

So are you saying you would have preferred Bolton winning tonight who are also above us and would then be 3 points ahead of us even though we still have to play them.

And if you didn’t like tonight’s draw then you would have preferred Barnsley winning tonight who then would have the same points as us, with a game in hand, and if they won that, they would be 3 points ahead of us, but we don’t play Barnsley though.

Surely the draw has enabled us to be just 1 point behind both teams, if Barnsley win their game in hand. And better still if Barnsley lose their game in hand, they are 2 points behind us, or draw it, 1 point behind us.

That's the crux with our goal difference.

At no point would I have wanted a Barnsley win

  18. Just now, Jimbo Ram said:

Why? A draw was the best result.

As above mate.  A win for Bolton leaves it in our hands assuming we do the job results wise before.  Barnsleys draw leaves them above us if they win the game in hand with no recourse to take that ground from them on our own merit.  We had that chance and didn't take it.
