It's Little John, not Robin Hood.

As the boundary of Sherwood Forest was Chatsworth and 80% of it was in Derbyshire he would have lived here had he ever existed.  The t*** in the story was from Nottingham.  He would have been from Doncaster per any true evidence.  Not much of an improvement to be fair.  Roughest place I've ever been out in .  Bouncers at the chip shop I s*** you not.

He couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo when we played at their place, (TF).

First game to be fair and he looked excellent.  He looked like he would score and has.  Reminded me of Kevin Phillips when he played for Watford against us .  Missed five great chances but was clearly nerves bur looked a great prospect.  When Sunderland signed him for 500k I was desperate for us to gazump them.  Same with Trippier when he went for the same.

Yeah, and the way he kept wrapping his leg around Parker every time he got in the clinch. He looked anything but a former world champ. The laughing was just a bit strange, not sure if it was a tactic but I was praying for Parker to spark him out. Sadly, looks like he did his ankle and had nothing to plant to get the power.

Dislocated shoulder, torn rotator cuff, broken hand and twisted ankle.  This fella does more injury to himself in the ring than the opponent.

  4. Shame we didn't look at Taylor on loan from Luton when they were looking to get him to a League 1 club.  8 in 12 for Lincoln.  He's the one who does 100 metres in about ten seconds and made Cashin look like Wiley Coyote chasing Road Runner .  Must have been available. My suspicion is sentimentality won the day and we paid an additional loan fee for John-Jules.

I thought he was very lenient to Bolton's all in wrestling at free kicks and corners. Half a dozen times Derby players were held in half nelson holds which would have been punished by referees and linos who had a clue.

My favourite was the free kick the goalie got after he got after he grabbed a shirt by the neck with both hands at a corner, then fell over.

  6. I'm watching a fight where a referee just gave a bloke 40 seconds to pick up and wash a gumshield when he was two punches from being knocked out.  Cheating s********.

Two students sit a set on exams on a subject, rule is the one with the most A+'s (goals) passes with all other efforts (chances) chucked away - equal both fail.

Student A gets A+ B C D (and passes), student B gets A A B C (and fails). Was A clearly the better student, or lucky to have passed?

Would Student A get to do his test in pen -have 4 strikers, whilst B gets to do it with a bit of chalk that runs out after 20 mins- Gayle

Good hope we scout Irving and Johnston then in Austria 🇦🇹

I like this guy at Bonnyrigg Rose in League 2. Kieran McGechie. 7 goals in 24 and used to play for Civil Service Strollers who are quality. Could step straight in as he's a supreme athlete who'd find Warnes 5 training sessions a day followed by bleep test a doddle. Also likes a beer so will be a proper team player.

BONNYRIGG ROSE striker Keiran McGachie revealed he once THREW UP in full club kit after a night on Buckfast

A couple of pages back you liked a post on Sibley being onside at Bristol without even seeing a replay never mind conclusive.

Hmm so because the lad made a movement with his arm trying to reach him at best grazing him with his fingernails and having zero effect on his balance he's not so innocent, but when Curtis at Wednesday actively put hands on both striker's arms not only didn't have it coming but it was the great injustice and the player & ref heard god knows what.

At least after Tuesday we know certain posters will never again call a player a dirty cheat for going down once there is contact, or even the slightest suspicion of contact (or perhaps without one as why would they be naive); OR ever grumble about decisions when the opposition are the better side (or every time we: set up to defend and spoil a game say next year; commit many fouls; complain to ref for giving many fouls; timewaste; or have keeper come off his line foul or not).

We are apparently out of debt now so £8.8 million would be clear profit if we go up and stay up

Which gets back to trying to get better players in the is going to take us in the direction we want to go in

You'd have to take at least 4 million of that for promotion bonuses.  When Derby went to the prem last time they shelled out 13 million in promotion bonus, including those who'd played about 3 games or been on loan elsewhere all season.

After we'd cleared debt to the co-op of 20 million we had to pay on promotion as part of a guarantee on buying the club and paid back 2 directors -including Morris- who withdrew their loans early in panic, we had about a million quid left.  We'd be a bit better of this time by a few million.

Sign players who are used to playing in the sytem we're trying to implements and stick to that system. We'll then have a higher success rate with signings. Signing wingers, wing-backs, or full backs, then not playing with wingers, wing-backs, or full backs, is a recipe for failure. So too is signing slower defenders to play in a high line, orleavijg them exposed by pushing the other CBs high up the pitch.

Flip flopping between formations and having a mish-mash of players who prefer different formations (including the ones signed by Warne) were probably bigger reasons. We're looking better now because this formation suits the majority of our fit squad members.

We had Mendez-Laing and Barkhuizen contracted for the season, but Warne wanted to play a system which didn't use them so didn't sign anyone to play out wide. Except, a few weeks into the season we decided we now did want to play with wingers, but only had 2 players who were comfortable playing there. On to January, we finally sign a winger, only to change to a system which doesn't use wingers the very next day. With him back from injury and getting opportunities off the bench in a more settled system, he's starting to look better.

We signed Elder to play a fairly unfamiliar LWB role and he struggled early on. He then picked up an injury which kept him out for a while. He returned when we were playing a back 4 and looked settled after a couple of games. Picked up another injury and we've gone back to wing backs. Where will he fit in long term?

Wilson and Ward were signed for the RWB role but had niggles. Nyambe came in and we shifted away from a setup which used RWBs. Upon their return, we stuck with 4 at the back, which meant Ward/Wilson had to either play at RB where they have at times struggled defensively, or further forward where Ward doesn't have to pace to beat a man, and Wilson lacks consistent end product.

Which brings us back to Nyambe. Where will he fit in? He's good 3rd choice cover at RWB (behind Ward and Wilson), but you don't want him playing there too often due to his poor end product. He doesn't get in at RCB over Nelson, so would we drop one of our highest earners (Bradley) to put him in? Or do we go back to a back 4, drop Bradley and waste Ward/Wilson?

We're then onto the truly bad buys...

Fornah was always a bad buy who will cost us a few hundred thousand eventually. When we already had Bird, Hourihane, Smith, Thompson, and Sibley, with DRobinson coming through, Fornah wasn't the right type of player to sign. We needed either an out and out DM (such as Adams), or an AM with end product.

Embleton and John-Jules were high risk signings we should never have taken. With a number of other injury risks in the squad (Forsyth, Elder, Wilson, Waghorn, Washington) we couldn't afford to take on more. Embleton had only just returned to training after being out since December, and John-Jules was signed injured, having been out since the previous October.

Nyambe is like a limpet and the best full back in the division for me.  Ward can't defend and Wilson dances a lot but seems to do little, especially defending.  Both should start out wide with Ward being first choice and Wilson coming on against a tired player where he offers more.  Keep them away from defending as much as possible.

  12. Saturday’s result at Pride Park will not make or break Bolton’s season – but Dacres-Cogley felt the compelling performance against Oxford is a signal that his team are up for the fight.

“Everyone knows it is a massive game and that was part of the reaction (against Oxford) because that is how we want to play it,” he said. “That is how we will be taking it to Derby, so good luck to them.”

    Whatever mate. .😂

In terms of the wider debate, I'm pretty 'meh' about Reading. As with us, much of their situation was self inflicted and they were pushing their luck with the loans even as it was starting to disintegrate around them, but regardless, I certainly wouldn't want them to go out of business - we've stared down that particular barrel and almost lost our club. Their fans are just fans at the end of the day though and just want to have a club left to support. Perhaps some of them will be a little less judgemental in the future if they can get through this.

Couhig however is a piece of work who (based on that sign off) seems to actually enjoy the opportunities he has to screw other clubs up, so I can't help but naturally come down on the side of anyone who has a problem with him. I'll file him under 'Birmingham City & other evil entities'.

Don't get me wrong I'm not disputing those things. But I think given we know how it feels we all should unite against the club killer that is Couhig.

Lots of comments like this.  Go bust no but assist them also no.

I'd hate  some 10 yr old too lose their club. But I would happily see a few years of misery for many after their b*******. Unless it was Birmingham as I'd class that as saving those kids from themselves.

Nah f*** 'em. They wouldn't feel one iota of sympathy if the shoe was on the other foot.

Other clubs would probably make some comment like "Well Reading have no history, are massively tin pot, no one would miss them".

Exactly this! Grab your popcorn and enjoy the show!

I tend to turn a blind eye to Hollywood's rampant Anglophobia, but I just find this show incredibly disrespectful considering the huge losses incurred, not just by Blighty, but also the many brave pilots from the wider Commonwealth. How inadequate do you have to feel in order to think that rewriting history like this actually makes the American war effort more significant and just how grateful must the Western world be?

Matthew McConaghey deffo captured an enigma machine from a German sub and I won't here anything different.  Pacific is OK but not as good as BoB's.  That may be because the European campaign feels a bit closer to home though.

I was going to say when we go to Wycombe could fans perhaps get a couple of banners and coordinate with reading to show some solidarity? This is Wycombe once again acting as potential club killers....

I remember how supportive they were.  Particularly when we lost Shinnie for 30k and a 40 yr old on 5k a week whilst they changed their management team and brought in 5 loans under embargo.

  17. The football family never came to our aid when we had to sell our training ground. The football family never said 'ohh don't take the short term cash for Matt Phillips he's gonna be sold for a s*** load in a couple of weeks' we were f'd then and football knew it. The football family is b*******. We have lost and gained players down the years due to the rising and falling of various club fortunes. The Reading fans getting on their high horses about this deal is as daft as Derby. This overspending has been going on for YEARS, YEARS AND YEARS. They were not sustainable when Madeski was bankrolling it and they are not now. They rolled the dice time and time again to get to the promised land and they lost. They are not entitled to anything different to me, you or any company that does not pay it's bills.

Funny they should mention him.  That when they sold him and retained the agent fee to sign a striker who kept them up.  Cheating Feckers
