I really hate that Reading game. What you say about the rest of the season is absolutely correct. We'd adjusted our expectations for the season so many times, from can we stay up? > can we compete? > can we get 16 points? > can we at least see something to be positive about for next season? That's where we were going into the Reading fixture. If we'd somehow got a win or at least shown some fight in that game, I guarantee the players would've been applauded despite an abject season. We got nothing and were obliterated by a poor Reading side who would be joining us in the Championship. It was the moment we all had to accept that not only had we been s*** in the Premier League, but we were going to be s*** in the Championship.

Terrible game.  As I recall they needed a win to see if they could stay up and missed out on goals.  That should have made them very nervous or very up for it.  The were up for it and we  weren't.  Bit like when we lost 3-0 and finished 7th.  Bit like when we could have gone top a few weeks back.  Reading are a pain in the arse in general.

... two of our PL records from THAT season?

Currently Sheff U have beaten our 11 point tally so we keep that one. They have also scored 22 which is more than our 20 goals in that season.

Goals against. With 11 games to go, they have conceded 72. Just 17 short of our 89. That record could well be in "danger". Based on goals conceded per game, they are on track for 99.9 (100 on the cards?)

Goal difference. 11 to play and they are at -50. Our "record" is -69. Extrapolated over a 38 game season they are currently on target for -70.

Think Sheff Utd share the 20 goal one and Swindon conceded 100 but over 4 more games.  They can have it regardless.  We'd possibly have conceded 11 in another 4 but we'll never know.

I don’t recall us losing 8-0 or conceding 5 in one half. I also don’t recall mass walkouts by our fans. If we were that bad, the fans wouldn’t have stayed with the team as they did.

We were just so used to losing and could always find a way. I actually think at times we were unlucky and victim to fine margins.

Off the top of my head, We conceded late goals v Bolton, Sunderland, Newcastle, Wigan and Liverpool which cost us six points. We missed a penalty at 1-0 up v Blackburn which had we scored, we might have got at least a point perhaps more.

We were desperately unlucky to finish on 11 points. It’s not much but we were deserving of 15-20 points.

The last two months of the season we were that bad. Still kept with them though.  A fit Giles Barnes and VAR we'd certainly have a fair few more points.  We were robbed of at least 5.

So they’re going to get more than 11pts, but is there half a chance they might take a few of our other records. They’ve got to be doing well on the goals conceded front now. That’s 4 home games in a row they’ve lost by 5 or more. No one has ever done that before. Not even us. I thought Wilder was supposed to improve them?

still can’t believe they beat Luton, that was a double whammy kick in the teeth. Stopped Luton catching Forest, and took United over 11pts.

Edit: Genuinely thought 5-0 was a full time score. Thought aresenal must have calmed down a bit after the first 15 minutes. But wow! Half time.

Think the goal difference we had was -69.  Thought that one might be going depending one who they have to play for a while.

Because Ebosele was pure pace and athleticism. There was no finesse to it, often not much of a plan either. Just needed harnessing. Ebiowei had the pace but there was a class and creativity to him which Ebosele didn't have. Obviously, this is just splitting hairs and there's tremendous value to both. Just a thought why someone would prefer one to the other.

After that goal against Sheff Utd, I preferred Ebosele.  Unfortunately, he preferred Udinese via an Amsterdam break with his girlfriend.

  6. Oh Dear

I bet there were that many smashed flatscreens in his box today it looked like The Who had booked in for a kip.

Livid Marinakis, first-team coach Steven Reid and other staff confronted Tierney at the final whistle.

Tierney sent off Reid, before the argument continued down the tunnel.

Pitchside reporter Rob Schofield told 5 Live: “You rarely see scenes like that in the tunnel. Marinakis had to be removed by security.

“We saw Reid getting frustrated and he and Marinakis pursued Tierney and Graham Scott all the way to the referee’s office.

“They were yelling at them, ‘Respect the players, respect the players. This happens every week. Respect the players’.”

I don't know why they think everyone is going to pay attention to the "used to be a referee" bit and not the "paid by forest" bit, but they have convinced themselves, so it's probably a good little payday for him.

Will get them no friends.  Appears Howard Webb was getting harangued by him at the Man Utd game in midweek as well. Plonked his arse beside him and bothered him.

Here's him and his paymaster together at full time today.

He’s had plenty of starts after good sub appearances. Today was the first time he’s taken his chance.

Was good against Barnsley.  Their centre half wasn't keen on coming out when Sibley was pressing.  We looked ragged and he had ten yards around him when he came off.

One for Clattenberg to write a strongly worded letter to the FA about then?

He's been on the radio talking about it and how he went down to talk to the ref but they wouldn't let him in.  You won't have the regulators accepting this s*** for long.  A nice large point deduction to keep them in line I reckon. Attwell on VAR as well turning down their peno claim.  Fabulous.

Yes. Its the word "infield". Where on earth is that?

If your on the wing hugging the touchline to get the ball, should you not be getting it, you need to move infield away from the touchline to collect it.  That's not midfield, its anticipating collecting the ball away from the touchline, then carrying it yourself down said touchline.

If he'd stayed, he'd have gone somewhere for a fiver anyway.  We must have lost about 40 million on players through admin.
