Ok let me ask you this? What do you think of Martin???? I grant you he went out on loan, but he certainly did not figure for at least 2 years. Why? because he didn't fit the mould.
This is not Martin's fault nor is it Anya's.
You keep banging on about money money money, but to be honest Anya will probably move on soon and as you said who will employ him? So when you say he just grabbing money, I would have thought it would have been in his own interest to go out on loan to prove to prospective clubs that he can still play. For what ever reason this has not happened, but I doubt it is Anya sulking.
All your rhetoric is based on your own biased notions and maybe from being a follower and jumping on the back of others thoughts.
I am sure Anya is as equally frustrated at how his career has gone at Derby and maybe he has a right to be a bit peed off with those who recruited him.

All that 'we gave him the contract' shenanigans is right enough, but if a bloke turns up at your work on more money than you, ducks around the place all day not doing a stroke, calls in sick half the time and occasionally goes and makes a test piece with the apprentices...you'd think he was a bamford.
    Reason being, he's a bamford.

How must Mel feel , particularly at the moment handing him a rumoured £3,000 A DAY , 7 days a week for doing Squat . 😠. Even Ed Dawes had a pop at him . I hope one day us Rams get the chance to let him know about it  🐏🐑🐏🐑

Must be me then ! This post is in a forum regarding Derby County not Crimewatch . i agree wholeheartedly with your off topic comparisons by the way . Why not chuck in the Yorkshire Ripper as a worse example too ?  Anyway , back to DCFC matters , and i stand by my opinion about Anya . 😡

As I've said multiple times on this thread, it's his prerogative to take the money. I have no issue with that. But I don't think he should expect fan support for that decision either. He can't have it both ways. Though I hardly believe that many managers we've had since he was signed that none of them fancied him if his attitude was stellar, but that's just a theory.

Assuming that it was aimed at me, this is a purely football related thing and linking it to the obvious scumbags spitting at someone isn't hugely relevant to the point. Nobody is pretending he's murdered anybody or committed a heinous crime, I'm sure he's a nice bloke. I just would prefer him to be out the club.

Slight difference. Sunderland were asking Rodwell to cancel his contract, which would mean a significant loss of income. Anya has reportedly been given the chance to go out on loan, which wouldn't affect his income whatsoever.

I bet he uses pound-notes to wipe the crocodile tears from his eyes. 😄
I'd be better able to sympathise with him if he'd expressed a desire to play football at another club. I'm sure a decent pay-off would have been arranged by us.

Anya's a really good player at this level for a team who fit his playing style so I actually don't have any sympathy with the argument 'he's doing the smart thing'. If he was completely useless and out of his depth where his other options would be a non-league club I would be more sympathetic to that argument. He's actually not doing the smart thing, he's wasted 3 years of what is a very short career getting paid a little more than what he'd otherwise get paid at another club at the same level (whilst playing football) which would still be more than enough to set him and his family up for life. It's even more surprising given that he was first playing non-league, then for Wycombe and Northampton and then had to go over to Glenn Hoddle's academy in Spain before getting a contract at Granada and moving onto Watford. If he has kids in the next 30 years are they going to ask about how his bank balance is slightly higher than it otherwise might have been or are they going to ask about his time on the pitch? For a good part of his career he'll have absolutely nothing of note to say.

Personally, if i was in that situation no i wouldn't doss around and do nothing for 3 years whilst getting paid an outrageous sum of money. If it was clear i could no longer get in the first team I would pack my bags to try and get my career back on track. I'm amazed he doesn't feel such embarrassment every time he rocks up to the training ground that he can't stand it anymore and asks to leave.  He should find a club at this level who would still pay him thousands of pounds a week and if he was really desperate for the cash sort out an arrangement where Derby will pay a percentage of his desired earnings over the next couple of years.

Yes the club were foolhardy in offering overinflated wages and this is a lesson hopefully those involved will learn from. However, to simply toss aside personal responsibility, respect and pride for oneself and for your profession on the basis that a naive party gave you the chance to take advantage and now they want to rectify it you actively refuse strikes me as selfish and continually taking advantage of the club and its fans.

I'm not sure how you can feel sorry for either. Sure if you have a big contract and you want to sit on it, that's your prerogative. But don't expect the fans to like you for it. Anya is just leeching money off Derby, so why should the fans like him?

Yes and Yes. Can't understand the hostility of some fans every time the club does anything that's designed to save money. It's what any business would do. Businesses that make huge profits are cutting costs. Football clubs don't make money at our level - they lose it so I would expect them to be cutting costs wherever they can.
