Dordogne-Ram reacted to sheffieldram in Yakka Banovic
I remember him in goal at Millmoor when we lost in a league 2 game in 1982.
We took the lead through Andy Hill but Ronnie Moore scored and he came up to us and put 2 fingers up very close to the away fans.
It does make me laugh thinking back, cannot believe it was over 40 years ago.
The main thing I remember about the game is the thug Gerry Gow breaking Paul Emson's leg.

I would never forget David Langan. Sadly I will never forget Mick Coop or Brian Attley either.

Looking at some of the names in this article, who remembers the Aussie Pools at this time of year?

Personally I think the midfielder tightened up when he came back into the team and him and Ebu worked great together. With Bird and Houllane we were wide open all the time.
For me thats my 2 centre midfielders for next season .

Dropped out of the team….following the knee injury he suffered on the pitch against Bristol Rovers on 25/11/2023 and subsequent recovery time of several weeks? Having been involved in all 17 league one matchday squads up to that point including playing 90 mins in 10 of those games? The same Korey Smith who seems to be a well liked and respected member of the squad and has from the outside seemingly always conducted himself as a top pro and played out of position for the cause? 🤔

Good luck to all parties involved, if that’s the case.

Don’t think we need to scrutinise BT…..he’s proven time and time again that he gets around 50% right…..and things do change 🏆

I suspect Big Trav got found out, and now resides under Pitch 12 at Moor Farm...

Dordogne-Ram reacted to Crewton in Controversial views unchallenged
Steve McClaren's decision not to recall Craig Bryson to the starting line up at Wembley was ultimately why we lost the 2014 play-off final.

It's driven by advertising, and they sell it around the world for the very same reason. When have you ever seen an authentic survey of the UK public that's indicated that they want even more EFL football at stupid o'clock on days of the week when hardly anyone wants to watch a football match?

The game survived for over 100 years without it being marketable to overseas 'customers'. The game is nothing without the fans and its about time they were put back to the forefront of thinking as opposed to an afterthought. Hopefully an independent regulator will see to this.

It's not consumer demand from the UK though, but it's UK football attendees who are always the ones being inconvenienced.
We don't get a say and that's just not right.

Looking for more youth and athleticism.
Trying to get the average squad age below the magic 55 to the prime modding range of 35-45......

Fair play to Carlisle. 9th on the list is a great achievement considering where they are geographically and in the table.

I don’t think social media speculation should hasten the publication of the retained list. The club will release the list when they’re good and ready. Getting the timing right for the players and the club is far more important than satisfying any impatience from the supporters.

I don't know the answer, but if I were to guess. It would probably down to the fact that Derby (due to the restrictions of the last few years) have a bigger task of patching up a team that have been promoted with a bunch of mercenaries.
Loans, freebies and a good few now out of contract.
PW and the team now need to balance what they have v what they want. Then decide who to release, without knowing who they can get to replace them in certain positions.
I have no doubt they will have a wish list, but it will be just that a wish, because we know nothing rarely goes to plan.
I would imagine that task is bigger than most stable clubs.
Just my opinion.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to loweman2 in Underpass Painting: We are Derby
Here it is ! The loft is at bursting point and the ceiling is ready to cave in at any point, if I put the entire side of the house up there something is going to give and Mrs Loweman2 is going to insist I leave and take all of the “rubbish” with me, so it’s just kept outside.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to Crewton in Max Bird - stay or go?
I agree. I think Max just felt it was time for a new challenge in a new place. The fact he agreed to a deal that would have been less financially favourable to him than if he'd simply run his contract down so that the club could agree a deal that worked for us is a tribute to his character.

I don’t mind the play offs it gives being in the chasing pack a worthy aim for more contenders. What has to go are parachute payments. If clubs can’t write players contracts to allow for relegation then they need new lawyers. It’s dumb, it unbalances the championship. Just not on, a handful of clubs getting a vast income advantage year on year.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to Fife Ram in Hi from Fife Scotland
Hi new member, all the way up in sunny Fife, just joined today, never really bothered about forums before but feel exciting times are back around the corner for the Rams so here I am to keep up with the news for the new season etc
looking forward to the new season and hopefully end back where the club belongs. If Ipswich can do it then there’s no reason why the Rams can’t.

Dordogne-Ram reacted to AndyB in Worst Refereeing decision for and against Derby.
I remember being outraged that Charlie Palmer got sent off at Lincoln in 84/85 for turning round. It was a 0-0 draw and it didn’t cost us anything much, but it was an appalling decision.
The Burnley away (Madley) and Forest home (Atwell) were also appalling and much more vital so these win jointly I think.
I’m a bit young for the 76 cup semi but I understand most, including the RD Derby County story, think that was the most important poor decision in our history, everything was downhill from there to our relegation at the end of the decade.

Why the ref didn’t even book PVH for breaking the Tin Man’s leg and basically ended his career…
