Was there last night , no voice left but immensely proud of the team , they literally gave everything last night , they have had some stick lately but Roos and Byrne were superb , Thompson again a star in the making , but my big shout out is for Jags , an absolute monster at the back last night , what a signing and finally the fans , the support last night was simply first class , the envy of im sure most clubs in this division if not the whole football league , keep it up boys , We Are Derby County We Fight Till The End

This is his 9th season with us. He's lost 2 of those seasons through serious injuries and yet has fought back to be a generally reliable squad member. If anyone has given this club value over the years, he has.
Our support has been outstanding this season, but some of our fans, sadly, are still brainless twits.

What a brilliant hard fought point that is. Jags, Davis, and Roos were immense.  Byrne shouldn't be able to compete with some of those units he's up against, but he saved us on more than one occasion tonight. Forsyth came back In and didn't let anybody down.
The rest of team grafted and fought once again and we can only hope Wayne gives them all a steady couple of days to recover from the knocks and graft they've put in over the last 2 games.

I'm glad you said that and not me!
I've no problem with a majority of male staff, it's a men's game, but I do think that a few females helps to dilute the testosterone a bit.
And class is maybe a more important issue. Need people on there who stand on terraces, have to scrimp and save to follow their club rather than sit in the rarefied hospitality areas and feel the injustices of the rules that others create for them.

Posited a while back that the reason the for the sudden 'adjournment' of the appeal was as a result of this threat. Seems my thinking was not as outlandish as some suggested! The EFL really are a collective of mealy-mouthed mofos. To frame this as proof that they are working in the best interests of the club really is beyond the pale.

    Hi
Bournemouth supporter here and congratulations on the win yesterday. Should have been a draw but that's not what I came on here for.
In 2008-09 we were on zero points after 19 games - having started on -17. We were also under a transfer embargo, were struggling to pay players and had a  team with several on-league and out-of-contract recruits. For us the rest is History as Eddie Howe stepped up from youth team coach on 1st  January, lost his first 2 games but we stayed up on 46 points.
OK! OK! I know it was League 2, and you don't want a Bournemouth history lesson. My point simply is - it can be done. Your home support may just help -it was pretty impressive yesterday.
    Hope you manage it.
    Good luck.

I nervously clicked on the comments under our match report on the BBC website last night.
The vast majority of comments at that time were from fans of all sorts of different clubs wishing us well and hoping we do it.
People want to believe and the more the fans get behind the team, the more the players will think they can do it too. Rooney already thinks we can and that's good enough for me.

We need play off form from a squad that is built up with academy players and freebies, no natural goalscorer to lead the line and a manager with little experience.
Now we're being told the new owner(s) are likely to be in place by the back end of January.
Staying up would quite simply be an incredible achievement, one that I don't think anyone truly believes would be possible.
Many fans had written us off long before the deductions were in place, didn't even want Rooney as manager.
Not sure how you go about comparing it to winning the league, but this would feel more special given we're up against the odds.
Even if we can get to the last few games with a chance, it would be an incredible feat.
The players and Rooney have the opportunity to pull off something very special here.

Never knew my Grandad he passed away in 1933 when My Dad was 5 years old, Alice my Grandma never remarried but apparently had a few boyfriends ?.
So I guess it was all down to my Dad, He was born in Joseph Street a 5-6 minute walk to the BBG, A quiet fella he was, Never really spoke about his family or his past...he was ex forces, But would talk about DCFC not a great deal but enough for me to know who they were.
So as a 10 year old instead of going to the local pictures in Chadd the Essoldo I decided to go down town(Derby)and watch the market traders on Cockpit Hill, With 1s-3d(7p)in my pocket I set off from home(Trenton Green area)across Chadd Park, Along Nottingham Road, Through to the old cattle market and to Cockpit Hill, Stalls all set up on the cobbled stones, Me just mooching about watching and listening, Now as a 10 year old they were the times you were chucked out of the house and told not to come back until tea time, Life was pretty safe in those times.
Anyway, I saw lots of folk walking from the bus station heading towards Siddals Road where the old paint factory was(pavement was yellow and red through spilled paint)so I decided to follow them...I was an inquisitive kid(nosey)so followed not knowing where I was going or where I was, Approaching Ivy square, Dairyhouse Road, Cambridge Street then the BBG, Yes it clicked this was what my Dad called Derbys home ground, I never had the money to go in so played/talked with the local kids, They were waiting until around 4-30pm when the gates would open and they could get in the Kids Pen, So I waited and yep we all got in, The last 10mins, We played PNE...won I think 1-0 or 2-0 I could just see over the painted wall at eye level, I remember the noise and the smell of cigarette smoke.
As a 10 year old in 1966 pre World Cup Winners, It was playing Hide n Seek, Cherry knocking, Cat Creeping, Hop Scotch, Riding your Bike or Marbles in the Gutter, This football was something new to me, Something I wanted more of, Money was tight in our family with both parents and 6 kids, All were fed and clothed and given pocket money of 1s and 3d, That was enough to get me into the pictures 6d to get in and 9d to spend on sweats.
So it was a case of a paper round or saving up, There were no paper rounds as all the bigger lads had got them, So I had to save up for the next season, I still went to the pictures but sneaked in so I saved the 6d and only spent 6d on sweats, So 9d a week could be saved, I walked to the ground from home around 70mins as I didn't want to spend money on bus fare, Season 1966-67 was my 1st season, I went to around 10 games...My 1st game was the 1st of the season Blackburn Rovers we lost, But the excitement being in a crowd of 1000s was something I couldn't forget, A pocket money raise the next year so a few more games were taken in, 1968-69 was my 1st full season and what a season it was...arise one Brian Clough and his assistant Peter Taylor.
Division 2 Champions, 4th in our 1st year, 2 League Championships, Europe, FA Cup, Quiz Ball Champions(TV)the worst pitch in English football...well the rest is history, I've fought, Been clumped by away fans and the Police, I've made a shedload of friends, Travelled North, South, East and West, All weathers, Begged, Borrowed and Stole to get to matches, Have a Ram Tattoo now covered over, Ate, Slept and Drank DCFC, Bought the T shirt, DCFC was my life, If we lost I go into a sulk for a couple of days, Then the weekend was soon upon us and the buzz would start.
There will only be ever...ever one club...Derby County FC.

I get the anger at him getting to walk away scot-free from this mess he's created (albeit £200MILLION of his own money lighter) but c'mon he's not Pol Pot, he's not embezzled or even done anything remotely illegal. Perhaps slightly immoral as it's put jobs at risk/forced redundancy.
The MBE was for services to business and charity, he's not exactly demanded all his charity money be repaid to him. This business (already loss making when he bought it and funded by his own money) has failed undoubtedly but that does not erase his past contributions to other business?
The petition to strip his CBE from him is petty and misguided and the small minority who have actually signed it tars the entire fanbase with looking like spoilt children.

The Memsahib would kill me if I didn't mention that two of her great-uncles played for The Rams, and that one of them (Walter Roulstone) was the first player ever to play 100 league games for Derby.
Seeing as he was almost ever-present during Derby's first few seasons in the Football League (the first league in world football), it's possible that he was the first person in the world to play 100 league games for anyone.

It might not be the earliest connection, but I'm pretty sure it's one of the best.
My mum and granny both worked in the kitchens at the Midland hotel during and for a few years after the Second World War.
Stuart McMillan had Derby's players holed up there in the days preceding the 1946 FA Cup Final, under strict curfew. A few of the players were friends of the family and got the ladies to turn a blind eye while they sneaked out of the hotel the back way (through the kitchen), so that they could improve team morale by having a couple (purely for medicinal purposes) in the Brunny.
Naturally, if we had lost, there is no way I would be telling you this (likewise, there's no way I would ever have been told the story either), so the teambuilding exercise paid off handsomely and went down in family folklore.

On performance, one major change from 1st to 2nd half, which addressed a bug bear of mine and imo the cause of so many of our problems. We started to look forwards as the 1st option when in possession rather than backwards,  which is when Thompson started to get involved more and we looked a lot better, this passing it back too much invites pressure.
I know their 2nd goal was good play by them but it all started from a throw we had 5 yrds from their area and ended up in 3 passes with Roos instead of their box..... and because they pressed he had to make the clearance quickly.
Roos clearance was unchallenged because the attacking players were offside and we were stretched as a team, which in turn gave them the gaps to exploit with quick decisive football as they swept thru us.
I will never understand why we think going back 70 yrds to play a big ball forwards is a better option than trying to create in their half in the 1st place! it massively increases the likelihood of turning over possession in a less desirable area of the pitch, even if we lost the ball in their area from an attack, or it ended up with their GK or a goal kick, it is a better option than going 70 yrds back towards our goal to have the team stretched and out of position to then launch it.

We always play better against teams that like to play football, because we try to play football.
We struggle against those teams that want to rough it up, play act and wrestle their opponents.

That’s a team who are one of two running away with promotion already. Only lost once this season. Not lost away from home before today & only conceded one goal.
We didn’t get lucky, we were full value for the win. Proud.

Somebody said earlier this week that we should scrap the academy - I’m not so sure.

My mates lad plays in the academy and said to me recently how well all the staff have handled the situation and it’s as if nothing has happened since we went into administration. That only comes from great leadership.
