PG Wodehouse from the directors box.
Ah, what ho! A jolly sight indeed unfolded at the hallowed grounds of Pride Park this fine day! One could scarce imagine a scene more befitting of the grandeur and splendor of a Gatsby-esque soiree, with fans cascading into the stadium like confetti, filling it to the rafters with their boundless enthusiasm. And lo, amidst the throng stood towering figures of Derby lore, Igor Stimac and Roy McFarland, resplendent as generals at the side of David Clowes, the club’s saviour, who basked in the adulation of the faithful like Caesar himself, hailed by the masses for his Herculean efforts in saving and guiding the club to the dizzying heights of the Championship!
On the verdant pitch, a veritable symphony of skill and finesse unfolded before our very eyes. A laser-focused strike from the departing Bird, akin to the graceful brushstroke of a master painter, found its mark with unerring precision, while Collins, with the poise and elegance of a seasoned virtuoso, seized upon a knockdown from the indomitable Bradley, who ascended into the heavens like a tattooed Rudolph Nureyev, his every movement a testament to the divine artistry of the beautiful game.
As the final whistle echoed across the grounds, heralding the sweet symphony of victory, a jubilant frenzy ensued, with fans spilling onto the pitch in a glorious display of unbridled exuberance. Oh, to behold such a spectacle would surely have left even the most stoic of gentlemen in a state of rapturous delight! And amidst the joyous tumult, Adams, Sibley, and Cashin, lifted high upon the shoulders of adoring supporters, stood as titans amongst men, their names destined to be etched into the annals of footballing legend.
Truly, it was a day of unparalleled magnificence, orchestrated with masterful finesse by the bobble-hatted maestro and his esteemed comrades-in-arms. In the grand tapestry of sporting triumphs, this day shall forevermore be remembered as a shining beacon of glory for the illustrious Rams of Derbyshire

I love this team. A mix of our own boys who first kicked a ball with us when they really were just boys. Then through adversity and effort became men. Then the old stagers in the sunset of careers, along with a charging bull who said our field was his home, Then a loan player with infectious grit, humour and energy. An aging, bloody minded unfashionable striker who did what he was supposed to do silencing his critics. They became a team over 18 months with reserves of fortitude reinforced by a manager who understands character and what makes good people.
Well that was alright wasn’t it ! Thank you Max, wonderful parting gift (pssst you can change your mind if you want )
Did you see Collo in the first half asking the east stand what the Bolton score was ?
Sibs played a blinder, NML’s touch is pretty ropey sometimes but Inam so glad he’s one of ours. Bradley came good with that knock down. Ebou ! What can you say ? Engine room, guts, effectiveness - sign him up. Wilson with a haircut like a 1950’s schoolboy had their RB on toast, with sprinkles and Worcester sauce. When are we building Nelson a new column ?

Oh and why did we let their No 33 own the edge of the box on every corner ? Meh … who cares right now !

What a lovely day COYR … see you all in the transfer thread then  🤣

Watching this club for over 50 years, the thing that will stay with me forever from today was the performances of the academy lads.  Birdy, Cash, Sibbo and Thommo were immense today. Wherever their careers take them in the future they will always be remembered in Derby for their performances today and this season.

A day i will treasure for the rest of my life. Train down from Leeds was absolutely teeming with West Yorkshire based Rams, plenty of beers & laughs on board. Then a few beers pre-match in the Alex before heading down to PP via that amazing new mural by the underpass courtesy of Popside Fanatics.
Atmosphere was every bit as electric as I'd expected & brilliant to get that early goal. What a way for Max to sign off his career here. Ok Carlisle played some neat stuff thereafter but was never seriously worried. As soon as we scored our second & we heard Bolton were losing, we knew we were up. Pitch invasion was absolute magic, scenes that will stay with me forever.
After the humiliations this club has suffered in recent years, we deserved today. But a massive thank you to Paul Warne, the players & the coaching staff...heroes the lot of you. Biggest thank you though goes to the man who deseevedly got his minutes applause...David Clowes, you took this club from the grip of extinction & restored its pride. You deserve the freedom of this city.
P.s. was brilliant seeing the club's tribute to B4...his legend will always live on. Hope you enjoyed looking down today pal 👍
Absolutely love you Derby County. My club 🖤

What a day. I love everything about this club so much - imagine if it had gone. So happy to see David Clowes enjoying himself so much.  The standing ovation for him was just fabulous.
I cant really remember anything on the pitch after we got the second. I was worried we would run on the pitch before the end of 90mins (EFL!) - well done to the fellow fans who stopped those who were tempted.
The end was perfect - the pitch celebration was just that - so good natured and perfect that the players were loving it. A trophy - not sure why but again it just worked perfectly.
What scenes. Will never forget it.
And finally just thank you David Clowes. And thank you Paul Warne. Met him last week after Cambridge and am now totally under his spell. His hugging Max as he came off and interview on Radio Derby discussing Max and their dads sent me over the edge. He obviously cares so so much and sounded so shattered and I hope he gets to recharge properly.
People may say we're over-celebrating but has a promotion ever meant so much?

Great day. Just wish once the initial celebrations had taken place after pitch invasion. Everyone had gone back into the stands and cleared the pitch, so the players and staff could do a well deserved lap of honour.

The boy did what was right for derby county , very good offer , money came in that allowed us to bring in vital cogs and he stayed on loan , busting a gut to get us up , so fitting he smashed that early goal in nearly busting the net ,,, the boy is a hero on a day for hero’s ,
max bird take a bow , a proper ram always , no matter where he goes on to play

Not sure if this has been covered already but could I also give a shout out to the Carlisle fans who stuck by their side throughout and were magnanimous about our promotion?
Spoke to several of them afterwards and they seemed a good bunch, saying what a great club we were and wishing us all the best.
Hope they bounce back under Simmo.

Two strange things today that you just know in your gut are meant ,,,, I rarely look at the video screen , I don’t know why I looked but I did and there it was ,,,, be more B4 and a short while later I looked over again and I saw a solitary ballon floating high above the stand above the video screen ,, don’t give a poop if anybody thinks I’m a soppy old bugger or it’s just coincidental,,, but when you know you know ,,, thanks for being around us all B4 ❤️

Today was bitter-sweet in many ways, as I kept thinking of Daniel's pure, unadulterated joy on being part of this promotion day.
Wonderful that the Club acknowledged his contribution,  and B4 will always be part of our heritage now.

Didn’t see the message on the screens but my grandson turned to me and said ‘what does be more B4’ mean. I explained to him and he was sad to hear the story but loved the sentiment. Today it felt like we were all a bit more B4 👏👏👏👏

Sadly the minority will go on the pitch. That bit is inevitable.

I hope after ten minutes they return to their seats so the team can come back out.
Someone said do it in the directors box - that’s unfair on the players and unfair on the fans who stay in their seats.
I would like to think the players can walk around the pitch with their families with unlimited space and over the Tannoy each player can be introduced and thanked appropriately.

Not long now, a few red wines this evening to calm the nerves, now in bed chilling.waiting for the game, can not wait, in the Merlin for 9.45, a few beers to settle the nerves a english breakfast, then off to PP, to get behind the lads and push them over the line , I have a good feeling we will all be bouncing come 5PM tomorrow evening. Once A Ram Always A Ram.

I'm not a fan of pitch invasions - and I'm not being the fun police here, quite the opposite. As has been pointed out, it risks cancellation of laps of honour, presentations and a chance to actually see the players celebrate.
I'd rather watch PW start the bounce with an ecstatic squad with him than watch 22 knackered footballers run for their life towards the tunnel.
There is generally some numpty who assaults an opposing player - which is utterly cringeworthy.
It's easy to fix. EFL says non-negotiable 20 point deduction for mass pitch invasions like they apply a non-negotiable deduction for going into admin - and they just wouldn't happen.
I don't believe there is any realistic chance of a points deduction if there's a pitch invasion tomorrow but, if the EFL are genuinely concerned about player safety, they should bring in some rule for future seasons.

I was there at QPR 2 seasons ago when relegation was confirmed and there was a mix of emotions; sorrow but mixed with pride at the fight we’d put up against enormous odds. I’m not ashamed to say I teared up that day. We’ve come a long way in that time; we have a brilliant owner, a manager who, despite my reservations about his style is on the brink of fulfilling the brief given to him, a feeling of togetherness and a club healing after years of chaos and excess.
If we get it over the line on Saturday I will very definitely be shedding a tear or two. 😢

Here's a random suggestion. Just don't invade the pitch!!!! Should everything go our way on Saturday,  just enjoy it from the stands.
