Couldn't disagree more. Mel's utter mismanagement and abandonment of the club have left us in this place, it's not just the EFL's actions. You may think FFP is ridiculous but they are the rules and they have been known about for a long time. Up until last year as shown by the al Jazeera doc he was still asking for 50 million for the club without the stadium and 100 million with it. This is hardly the actions of a man who was desperate to sell but rather someone who wanted to get his money back. He's screwed the club, screwed the fans, screwed the staff and he's walked away with some people still kissing his backside. 

I think few have come out of this with any credit but we are at fault as a club mainly because of the nature of MMs stewardship. 

FFP exists. Whether you think it’s a good idea is meaningless.

Ed Dawes has just said in a last comment  it’s not the EFLs fault it’s the football club who have done wrong .

I have always said FFP is ridiculous and maintain that. .
We are in this mess because off FFP and Mel getting totally blitzed by the EFL with no way out .
Mel couldn’t sell the club and then we had Covid and no revenue 
It has been vindictive against him IMO .
Other clubs have piled in also.
The most significant thing for me is that the first hearing went in our favour.
Its all done now but going forward my love for football has somewhat gone .
I know this is a view that lots of Derby Fans won’t agree with but going forward I see nothing but more heartache ahead with player sales etc  
 
 
 

The worst day in the history of the football club thanks to mel morris and mel morris alone. His disregard for the rules, other people and any kind of respect within the game has been thrown out the window many times when it comes to him.
dragging the clubs reputation through the mud, the financial accounts through the mud and now the entire club through the mud. I cringe at those times we bounced with him, this has been coming for many years and he has not done anything to prevent it. I hope we are now seeing how the rest of the league and country see mel morris.
now it's time to move forward as a club, and hopefully we can do that and the damage is not too much.

We can, and no doubt many will, argue about the treatment of our Club by the EFL all day, but what should not be lost today is that if Morris hadn’t put us in to Administration a couple of months ago, whilst clearly still a very wealthy man, and committed himself instead to accepting 9 points punishment for our P&S indiscretion, we would still have a Club today that had a chance, a good chance, of being in the Championship next season.
Morris bought a brilliant Club and Team, and in 6 short years ran it into the ground, and ultimately ran away to let someone else clear up the mess. 

I for one hope I never hear the name Me* Mo**is again quite honestly. The damage he's reaped upon the club is close to  incomprehensible and he deserves to be held in nothing but utter utter contempt by everyone associated with the club. The EFL have buried us during this process for the foreseeable future and whilst their conduct has not been befitting of a governing body we gave them the ammunition to do it. I'm not shocked nor particularly bothered by the additional 9 points, besides some people's dewy eyed unrealistic optimism we only had the smallest hope of staying up anyway. Now that's been totally taken away so at least we can be completely realistic about what is going to happen this season. 

Find it a bit funny reading some of the comments about the adminstrators not doing their job properly or not having the club's best interests at heart.
Kind of overlooking the point that the adminstrators only came into the club as a certain person decided to put the club into administration otherwise they wouldn't be anywhere near us in the first place.

Since when have Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Ipswich, Wigan, Bolton, Charlton, Portsmouth been cool?!

But promoted clubs need to spend to compete in the PL. If they got relegated into the Championship in their first PL season and didn't have parachute payments they'd be stuck with a bunch of players on high wages and got out of business.
The source of the problem is the Premier Leagues never ending greed and 'profit above all else nature'. Football died in England in 1992.

Well, the way I see it is what’s the point of a billionaire owning a championship club? He canna spend big without breaking the FFP again.
As soon as the millionaire reaches the prem he sells it to a billionaire.

Yes, very slippery character. Wouldn't want to see him back at the club. Problem is, with the clubs dire situation, in all likelihood we are going to have to put up with some dubious characters running the club. Little prospect of ethical attracting ownership, unfortunately.  

I'm not disagreeing with you, it was another roll of the dice. Lampard's permanent signings were poo. Maybe Morris should have told Lampard to stick with the loan signings and get someone else to do recruitment. Easy to say now.  
But it really is no good blaming Morris for everything. We have been incredibly unlucky year after year. Losing four play off ties by a single goal each time. What if QPR hadn't cheated in 2014, injuries wrecked our run in 2015, Thorne breaking his leg just before play offs in 2016, Vydra not fit for the play offs in 2018 , no fully fit strikers for the 2019 play off final except for Mason Bennett.    
If the dice had rolled fairly for us then nobody would have been blaming Morris for anything.

With all the strife and aggro about DCFC's situation and the angst over our 'fate', with points deductions and relegation possibly on the horizon, it's as well to check back to reality, with a fine young footballer, Bournemouth's David Brooks, now diagnosed with lymph cancer.

I don't really understand this story.
 
My understanding is that the 12 point deduction is an all or nothing thing. According to the rules as I understand them, If covid was the most proximate cause of the administraton then the deduction should be zero  points. If it was not then, it should be 12 points. No other ifs or  buts or mitigating factors that could reduce it in half. 
 
Unless .. we are saying .. we haven't got time to fight this through the courts or tribunals, let's do a deal now and get certainty.  
 
Also EFL asking for our books over six years.. haven't they had them already?   
 
 

Do you really think the outcome would have been different if this had been a player at another club treated the same way by that clubs owner? Come on Pete, this was yet another example of Morris thinking he could do what he liked to whomever he liked just because he owned the train set. Keogh's behaviour as club captain on the night was shockingly poor and I lost a huge amount of respect for him because of it but this EFL persecution complex is ridiculous - if the club (Morris) had done things properly in the Keogh case we wouldn't owe him £2 million.
