I made an Eric Morecambe prediction of 4-1 after 15 mins.
All the right numbers, just not necessarily in the right order.

Of the 8 players that we've signed, only 2 came from Rotherham.
This constant criticism of Warne/Thomas/DCFC based on a false narrative that we "only sign players from Rotherham" is pretty pathetic.

The vast majority of fans are not going to get on Warneys  back this side of christmas.
Paul Warnes barmy army will be the loudest chant from the South Stand for the next few home games.
You're all welcome to join in to help the club. Its free and feels really good to sing your heart out for the Rams.

Lets see how we get on in the 2nd game of the season!

Really odd outlook that is. We've signed 8 players. All of them would have had offers from other club. A lot of them have said how after speaking to Warne they decided to choose Derby.
But if we miss out on someone then Warne can't attract a player.

That’s a bit unfair.  Waghorn played in Fozzies testimonial and it was widely reported he was training with us - not easy for Warne to keep that quiet therefore he answered direct questions honestly.  Apart from media leaks and speculation I think the club have kept things pretty quiet for most signings so far, particularly Vickers, Elder, Ward, Wilson, Nelson, Washington……… oh yeah, most of them really

Could be a 50 goal a season striker, but as he's previously played for Rotherham and over 30 it's a no for some.
I kinda get it, we take the piss out of Burton for signing past it ex Derby players, don't want to see the same here with Rotherham players.
Flip side to that is they are tried and tested at this level and we're not going to be giving them 5 year deals where we struggle to get rid when we go up.
I see Warne building a team to achieve one goal, promotion, once we tick that off it becomes easier to build a team for the future where the shop window of toys becomes a lot bigger.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/sport/sheffield-united-striker-billy-sharp-argues-with-derby-fans-outside-ground-b2189587.html
    Over the last ten years or so Derby fans have;
Falsely accused and repeatedly chanted about/at him being a sex offender, paedo and rapist. "She said no Billy...she said no", "Derby boys are on a bender, Billy Sharp is a sex offender" and "Paedo paedo paedo". These were even sung on Saturday without him on the pitch or even playing for them anymore.
Openly mocked him for his baby son dying on social media and aimed similar themed chants at him. This, despite the club wearing black armbands for his family grieving and Sharp thanking the club.
Taken any chance to send abusive messages to him on social media (see recent tweet examples), and in the open (see video) due to his dislike of the two above points.
He's well within his rights to dislike this and give back. I'm sure 99% of people if given the same torrent of abuse he's had off a loud but small minority here for many years, would react similarly as he has. To hate him as he simply has human feelings is quite harsh.

Disagree. This is of course just my opinion, but there are stats to back this up so it’s somewhat based on fact.
NML, Hourihane, Barkhuizen, Sibley, Collins, Washington, Bird, Ward have all shown themselves capable of scoring goals at this level.
Ward, Wilson, Elder, Hourihane, NML, Barkhuizen, Sibley, Bird have all shown themselves capable of assisting goals at this level.
We’re carrying a better threat from set pieces, be that corners or indirect/direct freekicks. So if a goal from open play isn’t likely due to teams sitting in we can lump corners in towards Nelson and Bradley.

The squad has options in terms of how we could play, yes Warne has shown a preference for a back 3, but we have the options (especially if we do add a couple more) to play 3-5-2, 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1, 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-4-1-1 etc etc.
I know it’s all opinions but I really don’t get how some fans are so down on the season before it’s started. We’ve got a better balance, which has helped provide better depth, there’s some viable options in the u21s which should help with rest and rotation at times, the peak age of the squad as been improved. Yes a couple of very talented individuals have moved on, but we’ve got a squad of committed players all working towards a shared goal….plenty to be optimistic about for me

    What he said in his interview was the truth, he has set Paul Warne a budget and it is a budget that he (Clowes) believes is enough to get promotion from this division. Here’s the quote again;
"Paul has been given a budget, I think a good budget for League One that is good enough to get us out of the league. But it's football and nothing is guaranteed."
There is no lie there, it’s a statement that a budget has been set and an expression of his personal belief that it’s a competitive budget, with a caveat that nothing is guaranteed.

The thing is we all have a view and those views are open to challenge. I chose to challenge the mindset of certain posters who as members of a “fans” forum don’t sound much like fans to me.  All our players have strengths and weaknesses but this Collins focus is uncalled for at best and pretty revolting all too often. They are poised with a finger on the trigger.
I couldn’t give a twopenny damn if it engenders hostility. I know where I stand as a fan. I can comfortably say player X had a bad game or should have done better with that shot or tackle .. but what has been directed at Collins from some quarters isn’t analytical comment. Its just plain nasty.
And as for me … It’s not about being proved right or having the last laugh. It’s about being fair minded and doing the right thing.

Another thing worth bearing in mind with Rhodes, focusing purely on the past 5 years on all players that played more than 800 minutes.
22/23 - Best goal rate of Huddersfield's side in the Championship - 290 minutes per goal
21/22 - Best goal rate of Huddersfield's side in the Championship - 241 minutes per goal
20/21 - Best goal rate of Sheff Wed's side in the Championship - 212 minutes per goal
19/20 - Third best goal rate of Sheff Wed's side in the Championship - 228 minutes per goal
18/19 - Third best goal rate of Norwich's side in the Championship  - 168 minutes per goal
So he's had the best minutes per goal ratio for his side in the last three seasons. When you compare to the top League One goalscorers and how they did in the Championship:
McGoldrick - scored a goal every 485 minutes in the Championship in 21/22. A goal every 126 minutes for us in League One.
Clarke-Harris - scored a goal every 250 minutes in the Championship in 21/22. A goal every 154 minutes in League One last season.
Chaplin - scored a goal every 534 minutes in the Championship in 20/21. A goal every 129 minutes in League One last season.
Michael Smith - scored a goal every 314 minutes in the Championship in 20/21. A goal every 182 minutes in League One last season.
Bishop - never played higher than League One - career average is a goal every 259 minutes.
So I would argue that his ability to put the ball in the goal has been restricted by A) situation - he's still been more prolific than any other player in his sides in the last three years and B) minutes on the pitch. He's largely been injury free the last three seasons which is a big plus.
He's a player that needs to supported, but I'm fairly positive he scores a good amount of goals at this level in this Derby team. If he gets the opportunity to get a run of games on the pitch then all the better. He started 15 games for Huddersfield last season, 10 of his 34 appearances were less than 15 minutes long.
The drop in quality from Championship to League One is significant - I would back Rhodes (given the opportunities and games) to easily break the 20 goal mark next season based on his track record, not just over his career but also over the past five years.

Martin and Rhodes are completely different strikers. Martin is more of a hold up player who creates for runners off him. We'd need midfield runners around him.
That isn't Rhodes game and never has been. Rhodes has always come alive inside the box and he's pretty much a 1 in 2.5 striker.
The reason he hasn't played under Warnock was because Huddersfield are not creating chances in games. So having a striker who feeds off balls coming in the box when you are barely putting any in is a waste of time.
As we all know. Warne wants crosses in the box. So playing to his strengths would probably result in goals for him.
It was a reason why Collins didn't score as many last season as he was dropping deep to get involved. Needed to be more selfish and get in the box.
Washington will do a lot of the running.
I personally think we'll sign one more striker anyway and if Rhodes is one of the four then I would be happy with that
