Glad for Barks. He had some lovely first touches and was a threat all game but he and all the others can only do that because of Jason Knight. He is the one that makes those draws wins. That man is the most powerful terrier midfielder I have seen for many a day. He’s not Bryan Robson yet … but he’s heading in that direction. I was blown away by the effort and tenacity. you know when teams press hard and fight at the start of a game that eventually the “super boost” gets drained. Knight just switches fuel tanks and keeps going. For me that was a staggering performance.

Oops missed that result and yes we were poor in that Lincoln Match and that could have been when David Clowes and Co made the decision to approach Paul Warne, even though Liam's last game yielded a win against Wycombe.

I have had a look at the profiles of Barry Manilow, Barry Chuckle, Barry Gibb and Barry Bannan. They were all known as Barry when they were 24. It is clearly more common than you think.

Not sure that’s the case.  We also lost 2-0 away at Lincoln under Liam and our away league record pre Warne was played 4, 2 draws and 2 defeats with zero goals scored.

Under Warne our league away record is played 9, won 4, drawn 4 and 1 defeat - 13 goals scored

A word for the Derby fans, both in the away end and home end. I thought they were fantastic today, they sang the whole game - even for the 5 mins they were a goal behind - and the ones I spoke to in the pubs afterwards were very gracious in victory. They were the ones telling us that if we continue to play like that we'll be completely fine this season. What I will say though is that we need to play like that against the teams around us and not just against the big teams with huge followings.

……………….well done to all who travelled. ?

To be fair I think Collins does some good work defensively from set pieces.  Last time he took him off we conceded a late equaliser against Burton from a set piece

How long was he on the pitch for?
He lit up the game, absolutely sparkled. Great save from the keeper to stop him scoring.
Use the money/wages freed up from Bielik to keep this man.
Knighty must stay at Derby. #COYR

As disappointing as it has been in the 2 home games (2 wins from 3 league games is not at all bad) I have a few positives to take out of the negatives that give me a little bit of hope.
    1.  The football against Port Vale was awful - totally by-passed the midfield with long balls.  Warne acknowledged this and took responsibility as this was not how he wants to play.  Against Exeter we resorted less to long balls
    2.  First half against Exeter was awful (first 5/10 minutes were slightly better than awful) , no energy, no press, no urgency, no quality.  Warne was honest about how bad it was….. he needs a response Saturday as it will be his toughest game so far and without the response we will lose.
    3.  Playing NML and Barkhuizen as wing backs is not working.  TB was totally lost against Ipswich - worst game I’ve seen him play.  NML was ineffective first half against Exeter - receiving the ball 20 yards inside our half and immediately closed down.  He needs to be playing higher up the pitch - arguably our best attacking threat stifled at wing back.  It was better 2nd half in a 4-3-3.  It remains to be seen if this was an acknowledgment that things weren’t working and demonstration of flexibility from PW or a one off.  I hope it wasn’t a one off!
    4.  Despite lots of personal opinions, we do have some good players (we miss Jason Knight so much as he has the energy of 3 players).  I am also sure Paul Warne and his team are good coaches.  As long as the team are supportive of Paul Warne and vice versa they will work it out
    5.  We have great support……… we need to stay behind the team and help them through this phase.  Building momentum in the run up to Christmas will give us a chance to get into the play off places.

I like most on here have watched years of football and seen thousands of players but sometimes you don't appreciate how good a player is until he plays for your team.
Nathaniel Mendez Laing falls into that category for me. I've always considered him a bit of a flighty player who is largely anonymous, a bit lazy but who might get you an occasional goal. Having now watched him for a dozen or so games I think that he is a quality player, with bags of skill, a team ethic and who isn't afraid to work his socks off. I'm surprised how many of our goals he seems to be at the heart of.
In my opinion he is probably our signing of the summer and if we are going to be successful it will be due, in a large part to him.

I've watched the highlights now and, while I can't comment on his overall performance, I think some of the more scathing views of Cybulski's finishing are a bit harsh. Of the three goal attempts shown, the first (header) he should certainly have done better with; the second (where he hit the post) was great turn and shot, and the third, where he was faced with the keeper coming out and a defender back on the line, he put to the correct side of the keeper and on target - it was just a decent bit of keeping imo. I think there's something to work with there.

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
    All the best.
