Born in Mundubbera Queensland, dad was born in Derby but his mother abandoned him aged 2, and his brother while their father was fighting in WW2. They were put into a orphanage but when that was bombed they were sent to an orphanage outside of Melbourne. They were told they had no family in the UK. First heard of DCFC when they won the title in 75 and dad said that was where he was born. First went over to the UK in 2006 to start looking for relatives in Derby but as it was usually summer never got to a game. We moved over and worked out of London in 2014 and went to a Fulham  away game and got hooked with the atmosphere. Craziest time was flying over for 6 days for the Villa final.

We have a 4 stage plan. At the moment we are in the suppression stage. 70% vaccinations will remove lockdowns. Once we reach 80% vaccinations covid will then be treated as a illness. It was never a absolute zero policy as an end game. Still hard to believe our federal government has ducked the vaccine program so bad. Up here in Qld we’ve just gone into our 3rd 3 day lockdown so really can’t complain too much compared with what’s going on elsewhere.
Just seen Albert has given you a response along the same lines

Got to be honest, Scomo having a "4 stage plan" never really fills me with confidence, as it always seems like him trying to market himself, but it, and the research that backed it, at least illuminate what that long term strategy is.

The biggest issue here is different levels of government in charge of different things. Unfortunately the federal government is in charge of vaccinations and have totally ducked it up. People want the vaccinations but our main orders aren’t  due into the country till September.

Maybe we have been lucky but to date the only difference I’ve had since COVID started is 6 days of pubs being shut, didn’t lose 1 day of work. As for tourism in Qld, try getting accommodation, if you didn’t book anything 3 months in advance you have next to no chance of finding anything. Financially, our GDP actually grew last financial year. The talk is stage 2 kicking in early next year which will be when everyone has been given the opportunity of having the jab. Hopefully then we will be able to travel internationally. Tickets provisionally booked for Easter.

We had a handy player from Wigan play for us at West’s (Brisbane) in 1985, Andy Platt and one of our best players ended his playing career at Wigan as well as coaching them, Adrian Lam.

Rugby league is the working mans sport. Rugby Union is for private school boys that can’t tackle. I’ve been involved in rugby league all my life and I don’t get Union, really 2 completely different games. We’ve bought in Australian  rep forwards in Union to league and they’ve been lucky to play to 3rd grade standard.

Mate putting both Rugby’s together is a no no. That’s like saying a Scotsman is English or kicking around a round ball is soccer ?

I think Union is much bigger overall in the UK, even if it's only really wales where it's the everyman sport, and some weird parts of the borders, but where Rugby league is played, it is everyhting to those towns (e.g. Whitehaven and Workington, St Helens, Wigan and so on) - but the rugby league has always been rooted in the working class - it became professional because the people playing it couldn't really aford to lose the satureday's wage (or that's what I'm told). For my totally non-expert view of the games, league is much quicker more fluid sport, union has more all round challenges, but can be very dull and grinding, especially when it's not being played with international skill.
Lions? It's a tradition I suppose and seems to be big deal for those involved, and I suppose it's kind of  a bgger deal than the individual unions organising their own summer overseas tours.
And yes, I'm not sure where/who you hung around with in london, but football is pretty universal across the uk, but then facebook and childhood obeasity appear to more popular tha playing with a soccaball.

Mate, I should have made it clearer I was talking about the difference of the games over here. Union is really only a minor sport over here that is predominantly played out of the private school system. I love the locals passion for the game when I’ve been in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and France. It’s a good way to break the ice in a local pub even though I’m a League boy. I was surprised when I worked at Royal Grammar school just outside of London how big Union was. I’d always assumed that soccer would be the major sport around London but I never saw one soccer ball.

Brilliant win, put a smile on my face.
Boks were done after 60 mins.
Freshen the team for the 2nd and 3rd tests and there's a series win for the taking.

Today is the first day I feel slightly human again, will be 2 weeks on Wednesday since I tested positive. Honestly it’s floored me, never felt so ill in my life. Leanne who also tested positive has been a genuine life saver these past couple of weeks.
Started out quite mild but soon got pretty intense and scary, so many symptoms that just cripple you basically.
Covid is not to be messed with
