When this thread started in last week in October hosking went on talk radio saying hoped to select preferred bidder in three to four weeks. So that has slipped by two to three weeks already.

meanwhile admin fees are clocking up. Blame Gibson, Efl . Usual suspects.

Proper ground that. Not knocking Pride Park - a very good stadium in its own right - and perhaps it’s simply an age thing too, but I used to love walking up to a match at the BBG. Haven’t really felt the same way since the 1990’s.

    The Administrators are smart people.
After the deal with the EFL on points penalty, they admitted in a RD interview that the appeal against the 12 point admin penalty was just a ploy to get EFL to come to the table and make a deal on the other penalties.
I say  that this story is just a similar tactic: Placed in the Mail by the admins to get HMRC to come to the table and negotiate.
I say don't panic. This is all part of the process. Let the Admins do their job.

Hopefully we can get this all resolved soon. 2-3 more weeks was it?
I still can't fathom why anyone would buy a football club let alone one hamstrung like Derby.

Fair comment but cut some slack..... After the past couple of years and the current situation, we need to feel good about something.
Youngsters breaking through is always a positive, even at the best of times, but right now, it's just about all we have.

Was during a break in play, he wont be the only person to check their phone during it. Could be any number of reasons too, being in the UK at night would be usual work time in the US so easily could be work/business related too.
Think some people just look for an issue that isnt even there.

Whilst Wayne Rooney is doing very well with the hand he's been dealt, I think if Mel was still here investing that he would be pressing for the signing of more experienced players, just as every previous manager has done.
And he will be asking a new investor to do the same.
We can see "jam tomorrow " from him bringing academy players through, but as soon as a new owner is in place it will be back to "jam today!" From fans and manager.

    So Maguire says:
“It looks as if Mel Morris himself is owed £124 million.
“Whether he’s going to insist on 25 percent of that, we’re uncertain.“
Uncertain?  Morris has said he’ll waive the lot. The administrators have said they are confident of a sale (as Maguire points out, there would be no sale if MM does not waive his debt).

Maguire is a publicity grabbing public nuisance

Yes, it seems poor thanks for what the club has done for them, and I'd respect them allot more if they did what Jude Bellingham did for Brum, but looking at it from their pov the money involved is probably life-changing for the family and they can just as easily end up being released by DCFC in a few years time having been judged not good enough.
I think it's the EPPP system that's wrong - the kids are just doing what they or their parents/advisers think is best, rightly or wrongly.

This is me, Cash is not the issue, Time is not the issue, It's that I find todays football has been sanitised by those we can't see, Taking the knee, VAR, New rules that make a simple game a little more complicated, Feigning injury...yes it's been in the game for years, Now it's a tactic to break the game up, Referees, The spontaneity has gone altho not affected in the EFL...Yet!

There is at least part of the problem! Dragging down in the cold wet and dark, not for me anymore.
In League 1 at least games are played 3.00 Saturdays most of the time. Might go those again.

GB SPORTS reacted to Albert in Season 21 - 22 survival bid statistics
The way I tend to look at this is by looking at our 21 point deduction over the whole season, rather than a lump sum. Think of it as amoritising the deduction, the straight line method, of course.
Anyhow, on current points, this is the bottom 5 using this method:
    20. Cardiff 18
    21. Reading 17
    22. Peterborough 15
    23. Derby 13.3
    24. Barnsley 11
We're not well placed, we're basically 4 points below where we'd be on 'par' for survival, but the situation looks more manageable at the very least.
The thought linked to this is that usually 1 point per game is enough for survival, so the relegation battle can be seen as:
    Win: +2 points v rivals
    Draw: no change
    Loss: -1 point v rivals
When averaged over time. The points deduction is basically making it so the above is the same, but minus 0.46 points per game, ie:
    Win: +1.54 v rivals
    Draw: -0.46 v rivals
    Loss: -1.46 v rivals
So really, we need about 3 wins to put ourselves on par, then maintain about 1.5 points per game from there. It's not impossible, but takes so doing. Honestly, it's doable if we can survive January. A new owner before then, and not losing any key players and there is a real chance of the miracle. I'd say only about 1 in 4, but still...

Posited a while back that the reason the for the sudden 'adjournment' of the appeal was as a result of this threat. Seems my thinking was not as outlandish as some suggested! The EFL really are a collective of mealy-mouthed mofos. To frame this as proof that they are working in the best interests of the club really is beyond the pale.
