And if he’d done nothing or not fast enough, doubtless you’d have been down his throat. I was just curious .. totally disinterested in partisan party politics. I am a consensus kind of pragmatic sort of person.

And Stoke have already written off losses due to Covid reducing their player sales income, I think. Which is odd as we were told that Covid is not a force majeure event that clubs couldn’t have planned for (so we couldn’t appeal administration) and notional player values can’t be used to determine current book value of assets (for our amortisation).
Much as I know Mel is the root cause of our situation, I find it odd that anyone thinks the EFL haven’t deliberately used any discretion they have to disadvantage us at every turn.

Let's look on the bright side.
Burnley continue their upturn in form. Everton, spurred by the sense of injustice and urgency of their situation, finallally get it sorted and string a few wins together.
This leaves leeds. Losing a narrow one at Palace tonight, followed by Man City, Arsenal and Chelsea, they fall away to complete a final day humiliation at Brentford and relegation. Nice.

GB SPORTS reacted to Tamworthram in Derby County Vs Bristol City matchday thread, Saturday 3pm kick off
Clutching at straws there a bit buddy. Perhaps the free kick should have been delayed but I don’t think the steward taking a couple steps onto the pitch to retrieve the shoe interrupted or had any impact on the passage of play at all.
Again, it wouldn’t have made any difference but the way the ref slowed the game down annoyed me. There were at least two examples when he seemed to take an age to signal for the game to resume and, what’s happened to this rule that a substituted player should leave the field at the nearest point? I can’t remember the last time that was enforced either for or against us.

Which is economically true. But if the regulator forms the view that it is unacceptable then it has to comminicate that to the club and invite them to change going forward.
Happens to me often in actuarial work because you are forming judgements and interpretations.
Coming back years after, putting the club on trial and then seeking punitive punishment for what are really quite minor differences of interpretation is absolutely not regulation.

Well he scored. He also put a delightful chipped cross in for Cybulski who managed to head it over when it was easier to score. He was an outlet all game for us and don’t think he was at fault for any of their goals. I think Forsyth was the least of our problems today.

Kinda missing the point.
Paul Pogba has just developed a mysterious strain that enables him to see out his £200k a week contract with no risk of major injury and tout himself around Europe.
We have players on a relative pittance, who have not known if/when their employer would pay them or maybe just go bust, who have no contract offer on the table, have run themselves into the ground in horrendously unfair circumstances where points deductions have relegated them to a lower division...
They have every excuse to be jumping ship but they are saying they want to stay. Maybe they won't all do so, but it's mightily heartening nonetheless.

I mean….. you do realise tax carries on and funds to keep the club going didnt come out of thin air? The debts last September were always going to have gone up by the time a deal is agreed. Everyone involved is well aware of this, it is what it is. CK won’t be shocked or unaware of this.

Because it’s not a crime, providing they’re not pocketing it themselves or anything. If the money stays within the business, it’s just a debt the company owes, and ultimately if they cant pay it, they’ll end up in administration or getting wound up. Like it or not, the law is written with the acceptance that businesses can struggle and some will fail, but overall it’s beneficial to the country to let them try in the first place. If you start putting business owners in jail as soon as they run up a bill they cant pay, nobody will start a business in this country.

There's a large number of permanent vacancies listed on the club website:

Most will be vital to ensuring we maintain Cat 1 academy status.

It's not all about money either. You couldn't blame anyone wanting to play at a higher level.
Football careers are short.
I wouldn't be annoyed at anyone leaving. I think we should all be grateful for their fantastic efforts this season. None of them owe us anything.

Some of them won't stay, some of them will.
But let's try not to be so cynical about players saying the right things etc.
Let's just bask in a bit of feel-good.
