  1. So last night there was a 'rumour' that Warne was a candidate to replace Rosenior who had been relieved of his duties as interim manager.

Today, Warne becomes Head Coach and 3 of his staff move as well.

Dont know about anybody else but I dont make decisions about my next employment in a matter of hours. 4 people have clearly been speaking to their families for days about this change in their lives. Doesnt seem a snap decion by Clowes, been simmering for a while me thinks

  2. Went last night as a guest in Lincoln's VIP area. Met Colin Murphy who looks frail at 78 but enjoyed talking Derby. Then met David Clowes, I said "I have managed to sneak in!" to which he replied "So have I!" Still not sure he quite believes he owns us! Half time Lincoln fans couldnt believe they were winning, fully expected us to win comfortably but grew in heart at our inabity to score. Barkhuizen chance was the turning point I think, different game if that had gone in

  3. Close to islandexile

    Grandad - Villa

Dad - Man Utd - thats where they were born

Me, born Manchester but brought up in Cornwall (sketchy story about Clough /Taylor in my Grandads restaurant in 72 ish that meeting them at 8 yrs old got me into Derby, cannot confirm, but here I am!!)

Mum - City, coz she loved Tony Book

Kids - mainly Derby, think I have done a good job!

Ebosele - not just a great player but has comfortably played right back, left back, right wing & left wing.

I don't remember any players of the past being able to do that.

Anya? Oh, sorry, you said 'comfortably'! ?

  5. Reading that you would think he was sympathetic to our current plight so is there really an EFL agenda to 'punish' us with these further -9 points? Nice to see he acknowledges parachute payments are a major problem.

60% wages to revenue would be great but unfortunately its players and agents pushing rising wages

In today's press conference, Rooney denied this.

He did say though that he had bought some training equipment out of his own pocket.

How come, with a 'state of the art' Cat 1 Academy, that has presumably had millions of pounds pumped into it by Mel, that we had no cameras to record training?

Surely in this day and age that is one of the fundamental basics?

Bottom line for me is that while I can accept a) Covid had led to a huge drop off in revenues and b) the EFL hasn't covered itself in glory with the p and s stuff, it remains the case that we've been massively overspending for years, we've run up debts (and tax bills) that we now can't settle, and it feels irrelevant now whether our accounting system was within the rules or not. What matters is the financial reality behind it, and for that - for the fact we were in such a precarious position when Covid hit - I'm afraid I do blame the owner.

    Bravo, my thoughts entirely

  8. Really poor game management there from Southgate. Brought up on the days of only 1 sub, and only bring him on if there is an injury, but the game has changed so much. Poland brought on 5 fresh players in the last 20 mins or so and they got the rewards for that endeavour. Southgate made none and made no effort to counteract those substitutions from Poland, thankfully no real damage done, just thousands of Poles celebrating at a draw just like the Scots did

Can't we circumnavigate that by offering new signings alternate ways of bumping their salary up that's not directly linked to their weekly pay?

Like appearance bonuses, assist and goal bonuses? Or name begins with a certain letter bonus? Of course the bonus would then be a regular payment but would still be classified as a bonus.

Isn't that what Rangers were doing in the SPL when they got wound up/demoted?
