There’s a lot of “average football fans” who read it judging by the comments on the Guardian site and your view as “unfunny” is not a fact but an opinion.

Agree with all of that. The EFL might be a shambolic organisation, but they are in no way responsible for the desperate situation that DCFC is now in. I'm really not interested in reading negative quotes from bored journo's, Steve Gibson, or the owner of Wycombe Wanderers. None of that matters, and if we were riding high in the Championship, most fans would be laughing off such rubbish. What does matter is that this club somehow moves on from the tenure of Mr Morris, and in doing so regains some dignity and respect. If that has to be achieved by rebuilding from scratch, then so be it.

I don't think there is anything at all in my post suggesting someone shouldn't get a second chance. In the case of Lawrence, DCFC have already done so, and have also facilitated his rehabilitation. Actually my view is, that this club already has a struggling rookie manager and appointing a captain who really hasn't shown leadership qualities just makes no sense at all. This wafer thin squad is likely to be in a relegation scrap from day one, and we really need a captain who is a leader and battler on the pitch. A token passing of the arm band to try and squeeze a bit more out of a high earning and rather underachieving player is not going to work well. My opinion only, of course.

Can't disagree. Rooney seemingly keen to prove that those who deem him to be totally clueless are spot on.

Please don't blame Mel and Pierce?! Are you serious? So who are we to blame? The tooth fairy? Mary Poppins? The EFL? Mel and Pierce are the two sole individuals responsible for our current predicament, they run the club for christ's sake (very badly might I add). The sooner they both duck of the better, and I for one will be glad to see the back of them. Totally incompetent the both of them, and I don't give a rats if "his heart is in the right place". Mel has a duty of care and responsibility towards our club. He has failed miserably. Go back to making games, and leave running a football club to people who know what they are doing.

europia reacted to Anag Ram in Guess the next news to come out of DCFC
DCFC poised to sign Paul Gascoigne.
The club appreciates he's had his issues but is hoping he will be able to discover his former form at Pride Park.
A club spokesperson said 'This is a no-brainer and we have nothing to lose'.
'Paul is very excited and will bring a new energy to Derby County, enhancing its reputation'.

I certainly think Mel had quite a lot of validity in a lot of his criticism.
I do think he/DCFC didn't play the politics of the EFL well (or at all) - which is fine - but you have to then be cautious of how those politics might bite you. Having Mel's stance and also being on the edge of what's allowable is a recipe for strife.

A very relevant and key point that you make. Mr Morris adopted a confrontational attitude toward the EFL. An ill advised approach which has put DCFC in a precarious situation.

In essence a failed coup. Generally things don't tend to bode well for the instigators of such.

Blow me you're wasting your time quoting passages from philosophers on here, you get ridiculed for posting words containing more than 4 letters at the moment.....
