With the combination of the ownership saga, ongoing feud with EFL, weak squad, uninspiring team management, pandemic.... yes, there will inevitably be some loss of interest.

Some people! Has the constant release of updates from the club in the past weeks not been enough for you!

There has been loads of information released to keep the fan base updated. They told us the away kit was out, there was the email about the away kit being available, our second kit, that we wear away was released, and all the other updates…I mean, look, I’m not going to name all of the updates but I think we can all agree that there have been a lot of them, such as the email about the away kit being released for example.

I’m tired of the constant stream of information if I am totally honest. I want to concentrate on the quality brand of football that Rooney is inspiring in us if I am totally honest.

Hopefully the Forum would continue in some form. I feel a lot closer to, and care more for, this community than I do the club at the moment.

My interest in football waned many years ago. Hardly ever watch a match if it doesn’t involve Derby. Can’t even get up for England international games anymore. Football has been ruined by money. I wouldn’t support any other team.

Not sure that Wassall is the answer, but he probably couldn't do any worse. It's patently obvious that the manager and coaching staff are not up to it, but as mentioned in other posts, the club can't afford to sack Rooney, and he seems intent on staying at the club to the bitter end. What a miserable situation the club has been dragged into.

We need an end to bile and ranting rage. We need to return to gentler times, when humour was no more cutting and savage than......

Cocu got a pretty average Derby team to tenth during his first season in charge despite everything that went against him. Sibley, Bird and Knight all performed far better under him.
His transfer targets such as Dursun, Panzo and Moore had brilliant seasons last year.
Cocu was a slow burner. But he improved players and could spot potential transfer targets to move us forward. His time at PSV proved with the right pieces in place, he could succeed.
But he was undermined by Wayne Rooney's arrival while restricted from making any signings due to the circumstances caused by Mel Morris. Bizarre you would give up on him after the Charlton away game, which was about 10 game into his first season, working with an average squad. What were you expecting? Bielsa-ball?
There were signs after that we were on the right track. Like the back-to-back wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn, the latter a crushing 3-0 win where Wayne Rooney didn't even play.
Post lockdown, we still had momentum and Louie Sibley was being talked about as a potential superstar. But by that point, Rooney's fitness was so dire we were starting games with ten players.
Cocu's job come the second season was impossible. We were obliged to play Rooney who was awful, while we started the season without a recognised striker due to an embargo and the Martin fiasco.
The subsequent improvement in form after Cocu's exit was down to Rooney retiring and Krystian Bielik coming back. Not only were we playing with 11 men again, but we had arguably the best midfielder in the league absolutely running it for us.

I’d replace Tom Lawrence with Jennifer Lawrence. Unlikely to be any major change in performance levels, or results, but shirt swapping at full time would cheer me up.

Lampard didn't force us to buy those players. Managers don't get 100% say of which players we sign, that's our recruitment teams fault. The only loan fee we paid for was Wilson which was £2m. He also improved Bogle who we went on to sell. Besides, we got within one game of getting £170m+ so it wasn't like it was all pointless.

He’s got to instil a belief in the players, make them confident, make sure they know their role, key part of management…..seen nothing of that whatsoever….

The point being made, is that we probably should have appointed a sensible and experienced manager after the departure of Cocu. Obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing, but actually Rooney shouldn't have been anywhere near the managers job. It's pretty clear that it was a financial decision from the fallout of the ridiculous decision to sign him as a player. Not sure if anyone is actually expecting Wazza to be sacked. The clubs finances are such that it's just not an option.

The difference this man makes to our team is unreal. If he's half the player he was last season he will carry us to safety.

The ideal scenario would be having enough points to not need him. To be able to let him come back into the team gradually over the course of the second half of the season through a mixture of appearances from the bench and some starts from centre back would be the dream.

I worry that we will be forced to rush him back, but hopefully we don't, even if we are in trouble. There aren't many like him outside of the Prem and if we can get him back to full fitness he will eventually be worth a lot of money to us - either through leading a promotion push or from a big sale.

Absolutely. Fans ultimately want the team to win games. Understanding and commenting on the realities, that we have very poor management on and off the field, doesn't make a supporter any less loyal.
