europia got a reaction from Rampage in Respect Waz
It would be extremely difficult (even for Rooney) to not improve on last seasons omnishambles.

The point being made, is that we probably should have appointed a sensible and experienced manager after the departure of Cocu. Obviously hindsight is a wonderful thing, but actually Rooney shouldn't have been anywhere near the managers job. It's pretty clear that it was a financial decision from the fallout of the ridiculous decision to sign him as a player. Not sure if anyone is actually expecting Wazza to be sacked. The clubs finances are such that it's just not an option.

The difference this man makes to our team is unreal. If he's half the player he was last season he will carry us to safety.
The ideal scenario would be having enough points to not need him. To be able to let him come back into the team gradually over the course of the second half of the season through a mixture of appearances from the bench and some starts from centre back would be the dream.
I worry that we will be forced to rush him back, but hopefully we don't, even if we are in trouble. There aren't many like him outside of the Prem and if we can get him back to full fitness he will eventually be worth a lot of money to us - either through leading a promotion push or from a big sale.

Absolutely. Fans ultimately want the team to win games. Understanding and commenting on the realities, that we have very poor management on and off the field, doesn't make a supporter any less loyal.

It was quite ironic to see the two managers on the touchline in the cup game. It could arguably make sense if they had swapped dugouts........ Rooney, with zero experience or qualifications and his Manc connections would have been better suited to a start in coaching at lower league Salford. Whereas Gary Bowyer (or someone like him) an experienced and grounded coach, is just the sort of manager DCFC need at this most difficult time.

You're right, of course, but it always makes me cringe that they paint a line of whitewash around a piece of grass and it magically becomes a "Technical Area". What a load of pretentious baalox.

I understand your sentiments made after a close run win against a lower league Salford side but let's keep our feet on the ground here.
Wayne,as far as we are aware, has no other club to go to,we are his only "upper" league option.
To move onto a more prestigious side he's going to need to show he can both manage a football club and then get results from them with the resources he has available.
If he achieves that (and he has a long way to go) and he starts to attract interest from other clubs, then we will see the extent of his loyalty to the club.
And I'd be astonished if he didn't say he wanted to do well,I should bloody well hope so if he's taken on a football club as manager.
Now,hopefully Wayne is starting to learn from last season and will indeed succeed but it's too early to profess him as the new messiah just yet...lets judge him by his results in the league and the tactics and style of play he then employs.

I’m not convinced it’s courageous tbh when, by walking away, you would forfeit a 90 grand a week pay cheque

Good on you with your support (I mean it), but I'm not sure what he has done to garner such loyalty. I can't see a single thing worthwhile that he has done and the debacle of the 'meeting' just adds to my fears.
No ground, not paying HMRC, under embargo, survived relegation by the skin of our teeth, not allowed to bring in players (maybe a money issue not just embargo), the club having no real identity apart from being associated with problems. It is awful, awful, awful
if we were owned by a foreigner the pitchforks would be out long ago.

Fair point, Rooney doesn't seem capable. However we are stuck with him for financial reasons. Just another poor recruitment decision.

Good fit then for DCFC, considering the current state of affairs.....
