Not really Simon, he's been led to believe that we will be in maintenance mode for a good few years. No longer are we the place for an ambitious young manager to learn his trade building us up from nothing and play real life Championship Manager. Now, with very little prospect of getting more than cursory support in the transfer market, we are really only the sort of club of interest to a mid-career manager who wants to at least to be able to plan to be in the same house next Christmas.
Clowes is a saviour, and we owe him our eternal gratitude, but at £300m estate he's simply not got the capital to want to prime the club for another charge towards the play offs (in whatever division). Hopefully, he can keep us on an even keel for a few years, show a stable balance sheet and make us attractive to an external investor in a few years. But that's not the place where the likes of Rooney can shine, his destiny lies with a punt on a club who might have the chance to go places next season, the season after.
It's all good, I'm not being grumpy to suggest we can expect anything else - at least we have a club to watch. Indeed, to go and dive straight back into anything like the madness we are trying to extricate ourselves would be the definition of madness itself.

It would be unwise to go with Rosenior it our current circumstances.
We need a complete overhaul which cannot be done by a Rookie. New players to find, an ethos to compete at this level to be found and a leader to put it all into practice. It’s just too much to take on. Rooney couldn’t do it as a Rookie and the task ahead regarding the team is far harder now.
    An experienced operator needed.

Too bad for Liam he may think he’s earned a shot but DC would be mad to give him the job.

You are right he should canvas the fans opinion and go with the least popular. Step forward Mr Warnock.

With numeracy skills like that expect a points deduction next season when we field 15 players.

Re. Couhig, that was the main reason I liked the idea of MA buying us. MA is, in many ways, not a nice bloke, but I'd have taken great joy in him and his legal team taking Couhig apart, I couldn't imagine him holding back!

Rooney's real test will come in his next managerial job. It can be argued that he has only had success at DCFC in a siege environment (which ultimately ended in relegation). There were certainly many positives during his tenure, but also some errors. I have worked with managers (in business) who are very good in 'fire fighting' mode, but pretty useless when it comes to forward strategy. Maybe, as some suggest Rooney will go on to be a successful Premier League manager. I'm not convinced, but that's just my opinion.

Avoid having an owner like Mel Morris.

The EFL rules for exiting administration are clear, no club shall be deemed to gain an advantage on exiting administration. We have a big fanbase so will have a bigger estimated revenue which means we can afford to offer more under normal circumstances.
The view will be that if we go offering £2m on one player then that money could have been used so creditors could have been paid more, it is a penalty to ensure we don't have an unfair advantage and that while the deal to pay creditors is in place then a restrictive business plan will remain in place but not as restrictive as one with a 15 point deduction thrown into the mix. The EFL won't allow us to pay only 25% then having an open chequebook to sign players.

That's a big accusation and an unfounded one too. Unless you were involved in the appointment process you know nothing of how the decision was made,  and on what basis.
Rosenior has a chance now to show what he can do, let's hope he proves himself as a top manager and that he is a better manager than Rooney, but until he does that accusations of racism are frankly pointless and do nothing at all to further the chances of ethnic managers within the game.

    Hostages?
Keep them in a secure compound with armed guards?
Although my personal choice would be brain implant combined with psychological conditioning.

The "wife and kid" thing is the oldest trick in the book. This is the same wife and kids he had when he took this gig. As you say not a good look. It's been a baptism of fire for sure. Even so , saying you need a break after only 18 months in management, well doesn't sound to me like he will be able to handle football management long term.

Yes Rooney was aligned with the Kirchner deal. Perhaps CK was the only person likely continue to pay Rooney's absurd salary. Then it turned out Kirchner was just another chancer. So Rooney perhaps left with no choice but to jump ship?

We still have a club. Change was inevitable.
We might be a bog standard Div One team with a less glamorous manager but we’ll still be Derby County.
We couldn’t afford Rooney’s wages really.
