I think the club value what Davies brings to the team, but I imagine there will be a fairly rigid wage structure in place. No surprise considering what got the club into the mess that it's been in.

I guess it's about having the right sort of manager, who can quickly motivate and organise a team from the available squad; which will probably consist of young improvers, a few quality experienced players we have managed to keep and hopefully enough free transfers/out of contracts to make up the numbers. Also a decent slice of luck and a good start.

It’s great to be optimistic B4 and no one would ever want to dampen your enthusiasm but, for the sake of your own mind you perhaps need to accept next season is very likely to be nothing like a walk in the park

Honestly I just hope the majority of our fanbase recognise our situation. We’re not gonna walk this league, we’re not gonna make star signings anymore. It’s going to be a long slog of a season and depending on who we bring in we could be looking down instead of up. 
The club is going to need at least a couple of seasons to steady the ship, think Nigel Clough era mark 2, and they may all be in League 1. 
I am excited for the change, our club is saved, L1 is new to me as a supporter, the format of the EFL Trophy is confusing, let’s go!!!!!

Exactly this. Our best chance of getting promoted is to build the team around Sibley. No one else offers what he can. Also, he has the highest ceiling of any of our players, so it's good business for the club. Have him lead us to back-to-back promotions and then, if it's not working out after a couple of seasons in the Prem and we're not challenging for Europe, sell him for £100m or so.

I suspect how well he does is in large part down to which striker we end up with.  If we get a battering ram type, that he can run off, he could be very effective.  If we end up with a smaller, mobile type (like Plange), I suspect we'll get bullied a bit up front and end up opting for a more physical midfield than Sibley.
