Over the last 10 games, we've averaged 1.7 per game. Keep that up, we'll finish on 45.
Reading have averaged 0.5 per game over the last 10. Continuing that form would result in 31 points.
    Easy

The reason he has done it this way is to make it clear that the only way for there to be a fair hearing is through the high court.
If he just agrees to indemnify the claim, the EFL and Middlesbrough will continue to push for closed shop arbitration rather than a court decision, where they can select their counsel to get the result they want. Their track record of impartiality when it comes to Derby County is pretty damning.
Mel Morris doesn't trust the EFL to play fair. I don't trust the EFL to play fair either.

Isnt the issue he is saying 'see you in the high court'....but Boro will ask to go to an EFL kangaroo arbitration Court?
He obviously believes he is in the right and will wipe the floor with them in court but doesn't trust anything involving the EFL?

If attendance equals ticket sales, then that'll be the highest by any team in the championship this season. Absolutely cracking effort for a Sunday lunchtime game on sky.
Unfortunately I can't be there, but I'll be cheering along from my sofa #halffan

I found it slightly disappointing to see our own main sponsors logo on that open letter that Gibson wrote. Given 32Red sponsor both of us, might they be able to put pressure on Gibson to drop this case? Could they threaten to drop Boro?
Then I wondered if part of his gripe with us is that 32Red gave us the bumper sponsorship deal to sign a star player and not him. I think Boro were whining to the EFL before Rooney signed for us, so it wasn't the original cause, but it might have exacerbated things.

It sounds like the administrators are confident of funding for the season. I suspect this is in the form of a loan - from one of the bidders, Mel, MSD, the council, or somewhere else. Good news: we'll not be liquidated in 2 weeks, nor do we have to sell our crown jewels for peanuts. Bad news: the takeover saga is going to drag on quite a bit longer, as there's no agreement with the EFL on that.

Governance needs to be independent. How can you expect fair decisions and outcomes when every single member on the board has a vested interest AGAINST whoever they decide is in for a kicking this week?

I'm all for criticising the EFL, but aren't they doing the right thing here? If we don't have the funds to fulfill our commitments, we shouldn't be allowed to sign be players.
If, as some people are claiming, they are unreasonably blocking the preferred bidder being announced with their hefty deposit, then sure, blame them. But I'm not sure we've seen any evidence of that, have we?

The Quantuma statement hadn't come out when I asked the question. If what they say it's true, then I fully agree the EFL are causing issues. Flipping ridiculous.

But I agree. Risking the rest of his career for the club against Sheff Wed last season cemented him as a legend in my eyes. The performances and goals this season have taken him to another level. Legend.
