You know a good player when you see one. He’s a natural, personally think he’ll end up in league one team of the season. Reminds me of when we first saw Chris Riggott in a rams shirt, everyone knew straight away he was class. We’re lucky to have him, has to start and will be extremely disappointed if he doesn’t.

If Cashin doesn’t play basically every game he’s available for this season, we may as well give up and close the academy.  We’ll never get a better chance to bring youngsters on than this season - a complete rebuild, at a level below where we’re expected to be.  And Cashin has the shirt already, it’s not like he’s got to force his way into the team from nowhere.

    I'd play Cashin.
First name on the team sheet for me.

Spot on. We can play with a 2 but smith will destroy and enable bird to support the 3 and 1. This will give us great balance, Tommo as back up. Bielik is going (hopefully on loan), need to push for a good deal for Knight, keep Bird at all costs

He’s a destroyer. Breaks up play sets moves going, high energy good on the ball. Just what we need assuming Bielik and/or Knight are going. Fact Swansea had him means he’s a good footballer. They don’t take lumps

In other words, unless we sell O’Hare for big bucks then there’s no way we can afford them.

I think Bird can play higher up. Bird has the potential to dictate play, he’s a lovely cultured footballer. There was a game under Cocu where he was almost playing like a no.10 and he was fantastic. He covers a lot of ground so I don’t see Birds role as just sitting in front of a back 4. He has the ability to be a complete midfielder (bar the goal tally)

Marc Poom was rubbish at heading the ball...I can only remember him scoring about one goal with his head in his entire career!

Definitely want this rather than Stephens. Bielik out on loan, sell Knight (make sure B4 is leading the negotiation but remind him we do need to sell him so be prepared to negotiate), keep Bird, that’s really good business and midfield sorted.

The problem we may have is the rumours surrounding a big bucks transfer for O’Hare. If that move happens at least we’re in a position to say “we know your cash rich and we don’t NEED to sell” for the first time in ages, maybe we’ll get a fair price if and when someone does leave.

I think whoever plays full back I trust Liam to get it right. After all he played his entire career at full back (mostly right but covered both flanks) so I think he knows the position. Also in his year as a sky sports pundit was often the one to highlight our failings in this area under Lampard particularly number of goals conceded through not stopping crosses for which I think we led the way that season in the championship, though that was in part to how Lampard set up.

The right approach. Smash the first half of the season get us into promotion contention, make him permanent. People will always criticise, even taking this pragmatic approach those hindsight kings and queens will be saying giving him the job mid season was a terrible move if it all tails off in second half of the season.

Caught up with an article in the athletic and all the comments from obviously misinformed rival fans who from some of the comments didn’t read the article. Usual theme think about the tax man, needs to be made public what we have/haven’t paid etc.
However the main crux of the article is Clowes has paid c£60m all including £3.7m for Q and £22m for stadium.
I can’t remember where our football debts and unsecured creditor debts stood but didn’t think they were huge, HMRC was anything between £29m-£36m. Taking away Q and Stadium, that’s £34.3m towards paying off the debts. Assuming football creditors 100% and unsecured creditors 25% and Mel got nothing (except paying off MSD),  I can’t see any scenario where HMRC has got less than 50%, potentially could even be 66% or 75%.
So in other words these rival fans can jog on as this would be by far the biggest percentage of debt paid off in recent administrations.

Not that it matters now anyway.
