Didzy revealed in his post match on Radio Derby that he’s always bigging up NML and telling him he’s too good for League One. Have to agree, he’s been excellent in every game. Refreshing to have a proper winger with pace, skill, and end product. Puts in a shift as well.
Player of the season so far, by a country mile.

I love him as a winger, but he's wasted as a wingback. Good performance today.

Yeah he has really exceeded my expectations, suprised by how his end product in and around the box has actually been decent.
Knew he could beat a player but he has got more assists than I expected and played some smart and composed passes.

I like most on here have watched years of football and seen thousands of players but sometimes you don't appreciate how good a player is until he plays for your team.
Nathaniel Mendez Laing falls into that category for me. I've always considered him a bit of a flighty player who is largely anonymous, a bit lazy but who might get you an occasional goal. Having now watched him for a dozen or so games I think that he is a quality player, with bags of skill, a team ethic and who isn't afraid to work his socks off. I'm surprised how many of our goals he seems to be at the heart of.
In my opinion he is probably our signing of the summer and if we are going to be successful it will be due, in a large part to him.

The focus will be on that attacking first half, but I was equally impressed with how organised we were in the second.
Dare I say it, a little bit of identity to our game?
McGoldrick obviously MOTM, but Roberts, Fozzy, Bird, NML and Collins we’re all excellent. The whole team’s effort and pressing was relentless.
    Great performance.

Amazing that people want him out after 5 minutes, total nonsense - and it isn't going to happen.
I also don't believe that he wants us to become Rotherham 2, I actually think his aim is to get them playing decent football.
Give the bloke and his team a chance to get their chairs under the table. I think he will be given this season and next as a bare minimum.

I’ll be one of the first to admit I wasn’t exactly enthralled by the idea of having Wildsmith as a number 1 when he signed. I’m sure many others will be in the same position.
I was expecting and hoping another keeper to come in and that Wildsmith would be a good back up, but obviously that never happened.
I think he’s been excellent this season and is yet to really make a glaring error. For a keeper that’s spent most of his career as a substitute, I think he’s stepped up brilliantly.
He’s been one of our better additions this summer, I feel like he deserves some recognition for how he’s started his time here with us.

No parking at the stadium. There is a local grass roots team who open their car park for a donation just 50 yards past the entrance to the stadium (BB5 5BX), get there by 2pm though. Otherwise all parking in Accrington is free, even in the town centre which is a 15 minute walk. There's plenty of parking in the streets near the stadium- no residents only parking.

More than 3 and a half years since your last visit to the Wham Stadium, it's that time again when Ram's fans descend on our little corner of East Lancashire.
I'm Robert, the Supporter Liaison Officer at Stanley and if there's anything you need to know about your visit on Saturday, just ask here and I'll do my best to answer.

There's basically a bit of mardyness from some fans of Liam which is souring their views on the new gaffer.
Plus a few people just aren't comfortable with such a gregarious chap.
It will pass in time if we start achieving as a team especially in terms of scoring more goals and winning away from home for the first time in months.

I'm not saying that we wouldn't have beat Cambridge if Rosenior was still in charge, but can you imagine the sheer elation if we get a win away at the first time of trying under Warne. It would be a huge boost mentally for the players, but more significantly the fans who won't be anxious going away.
If we draw/lose then it will just be a case of 'Warne's not had enough time with the players - it will change'
Almost a free hit for the players, with a huge upside if we win.

Cheers, he's certainly done well with Rotherham.
I must confess, for years it seemed like Rotherham were the exact club and personification of the teams Derby always slipped up against and it drove me mad - particually that 3-3 come back a few years ago. But on reflection, as that time has now passed, arrogent bigger club gets a happy slap from a well organised honest hard working team is the sort of thing that a team that gets promoted overcomes and in those years Derby never really did.
But as I say, those times have passed, the pennance for the hubris has been paid, the arrogence has been atoned for and the rebuildng of a new era has started, and it starts with Paul Warne. Liam Rosenoir for his part not only helped us through the crisis and handed the baton to him in as good a shape as anyone could hope for, as Paul has freely said.
Good luck to the Millers this season and going forward, hopefully you get a good manager in and all the best in staying up, and giving the occasional bloody nose to the big clubs in the championship.

Cheers rojo. It was nice to see (from our perspective at least) that the whole thing seems to have been handled professionally and respectfully too. Our new owner (local man and fan) has made a big point of saying that after the carnage of the last couple of years that left a bad taste in everyone's mouths, that he wants the whole club to conduct itself with some integrity and that the character of the manager was a big part of that and why he went for Warne. We have not selected a shirt sponsor yet because the right kind of offers are not there yet and he doesn't want to just sell the clubs soul to just another betting company. Looks like we are going down the charity route for now which is great.
Really hoping that Warne is a big success here not just as a Derby fan but because I want to see the right people do well and that includes our owner and Warne himself. Good luck in the Championship, you've made a very solid start !

Thank you Rojo. Once the stories emerged linking Warne with us I went on one of the RUFC forums and it was immediately apparent how loved he is by Millers' fans.
We should feel flattered that he has decided to leave a club he clearly has immense affection for to drop down a division. He has done so with Rotherham sitting in eighth place too.

I just want to say how lucky you are to have Paul Warne as manager. I've supported the millers for 69 years. Obviously, I've seen managers come and go during that period. As far as I'm concerned, and many other fans Warne is the best manager we've had.
Like Derby fans we went through some dark times. Administration points deducted, lost our ground, forced to play in Sheffield in an athletic stadium. No atmosphere, 4 years in the 4th division.
Paul has many qualities. Excellent staff management, a workaholic. He's articulate, honest and will live and breathe Derby County.
I thank him for all the memories, 3 Wembley wins 3 promotions and I wish him well and as a consequence wish the Rams well. I've never had a second team, but for the first time Derby County will be my second team. I look forward to seeing Paul succeed.
Hopefully Derby will be promoted and we survive in the championship and look forward to see you at the New York stadium.
    All the best.

PW talked about his conversations with DC. He said DC was a great bloke who had mentioned that part of the decision to appoint PW as manager was due to the fact that DC liked PW's moral compass and integrity. PW said that he feels they are very similar people, who want to build a similar culture at the club and push the club forward. He said that the relationship between owner and manager is essential to understanding each other and communicating ideas.
What a breath of fresh air.

Can't really fault him for that imho, he was looking out for his own club at the time.
Lets face it, MM pi$$ed a lot of people off - the players, us fans, the EFL and of course other teams such as Rotherham and Sheff Weds who were relegated that season.  If PW was sounding off against Derby players or fans, fair enough, but I think everyone knew where the blame lay and who they were talking about when they criticised Derby.
Thankfully we've moved on and DC is repairing the damage, so much so that someone that wouldn't have given us a second glance a few months ago is now our Head Coach and excited about the challenge ahead.

I’m massively impressed by how he spoke during the presser, sounds likeable, relatable, open and honest. Spoke in realistic and pragmatic terms about the club, the squad and the league, especially pleased to hear him address some of the public concerns raised around playing style (“when you have footballers you play football, athletes you play to their strengths, we’ve got footballers who will soon realise how good they are as athletes too” a bit paraphrased there ?) and his post match comments when we stayed up (it was an emotional moment for him as his mate was relegated).
I also admire his honesty about the Rosenior situation, more realism in that he acknowledged LR’s good work and talent but that it would have been unworkable for him to stay on the staff.
Most impressive for me though, was the conviction with which he spoke, he knows himself well, knows his team of staff and believes in what he has to say. There were times when LR spoke and said the right things, being so likeable I wanted to believe him, but the conviction was missing in his voice. Warne has that conviction which will hopefully help him succeed with the Rams. Interesting times ?
