Do you remember when we used to have a far greater share of the possession under Cocu and Rooney, then you looked at the stats and the quality possession was oft shuffling the ball across the back line crab like then back again and so on.
But not actually generating any progression or hurting the opposition.
Which then sometimes resulted in a suicidal backpass to our goalie leading to a goal for the opposition. Or our goalie piddling around with possession on his 6 yard or across his penalty area leading to the same outcome. 
So stats can be very misleading used in isolation.

I reckon he has done reasonably well
He arrived having been given a small group of players that he didn’t choose and no means to bring any in.
He adapted our play from suicidal “play from the back” - we didn’t have the quality or pace to execute that style with any degree of aplomb. Instead, he made us more flexible and able to switch styles and not be too fixed in a particular system.
He rode the big day out syndrome, got us fitter and some more miles out of aging maestros, made us competitive and went on a good mid season winning run.
He persists in reverting to wing backs because he likes the concept, but doesn’t seem to accept  that this is flawed when your wide players and support players are not the young guns they once were and our CB’s are either inexperienced or alternatively at the end of their careers. He hasn’t really acknowledged that we get bullied. This is a tough man’s league; I have noticed time and again that we seem to be physically lightweight compared to our opponents, both in height and muscle. The only way round this, to my mind, is to keep the ball on the ground which he doesn’t do or encourage enough. 
 
There is a lot here that is beyond his control so in the balance of aspects I think he’s done a good job but  far from faultless. I also like his honesty clichee free openness. 

That’s a decent line up.
Id also suggest we could play the 3-5-2 but need to be a bit more radical in our selections.
If pushed to pick a 3-5-2 I’d go for:
                   Wildsmith     
      
        Rooney   Foz     Cash
Knight      Bird     Hourihane  Roberts 
                      Sibley
                McG     Barks
Back to the Bald Eagle style 3-5-2!
Ive left Smith out even though I like him and think he’s done fairly well during this poor spell. This allows us to play that Bird, Knight, Sibley midfield that really should have been given a run.
Also Barks upfront is a must for me, until we can find a new striker, his pace will help us push teams deeper. Collins tries but has absolutely no goal threat. Sibley and McG can advance or drop deeper when and where required and help us massively with our utter lack of cutting edge in the final third

He needs to be shown a video of the last 4 seasons if he wants to see a catalogue of terrible decisions against the Rams 

I’ve not given up per se. Yesterday was just deflating and the kind of result that makes you feel like the writing is on the wall.
I’ll be going to Exeter on Tuesday and maybe like you say, a good win with an encouraging performance is all everyone needs.

Id suggest that if our players are not capable of putting 4 or 5 passes together at this level, just to relieve a bit of pressure, that they are in the wrong profession.

I'd say we need someone with experience at this level. 
Someone "who knows L1" inside out, and has a good record of promotion up and out of this league.
We'd also need to promise him some leeway, until the EFL restrictions are lifted, and he's allowed to fully build his own squad.
Then give him time to build, given our own spending budgets (over and above the EFL restrictions).
So, perhaps a 4 year programme, and contract of a similar length.

Well at last that match is over. It makes me want to go and break a few windows, or thump an old person in the face so at least the punishment of watching Derby play is somewhat justified. 
So we started by playing the ball on the grass, where Cloughie says it should be played, and we scored., But then what? Bristol upped their tempo after about 20 minutes and it was all over. And what we did was start to hoof the ball long - to the opposition. And then even passing the ball out of defence seemed difficult for us, and often went to the wrong player. On rare occasions we cocked up and played the ball on the floor and actually threatened, but only on very rare occasions.
Actually the ref was pretty ok 1st half, but the EFL must have had their man at Bristol, who popped into the refs changing room at half time because suddenly he was gifting cards out like it was a mass birthday party for Derby players. It actually wasn't a dirty game, with Derby looking the dirtiest because of clumsy challenges, and there was a remarkable lack of malice, which is surprising given who their manager is!
The penalty was give-able because there  player was impeded in the penalty area, but as many have said, is the type of penalty given against us, but never for us. It was certainly softer than the belt in the back given to Jason Knight on Monday! And would have been as soft as the one that could have been given when McGoldrick was pulled down a little earlier, and probably would have been given if he was playing for Bristol. Or any other club who isn't Derby County.
BUT: it wasn't the ref today, because Bristol deserved far more than they got, and we deserved diddly squat because of our dreadful performance, and sitting back once we had gone a goal up. Given that we need to improve our goal difference, sitting back was unforgiveable.
And surely the players themselves have got to have a good sit down and ask themselves what the heck they ere doing this afternoon. Even at League one levels, not being able to pass the ball to your own team-mates for nearly 90 minutes simply isn't good enough.
I shall miss the next home match, against Burton, because I will be at my son's wedding, so at least I will be having good time. I will keep you all in my thoughts, though!

You mean the two penalties he’s given where neither were penalties (the other one being Plymouth), and not being given a stonewall one against Peterborough. Yeah he’s certainly learning the hard way.

Maybe the best way to motivate your players to perform on a Saturday is not to give an interview on the Friday saying the following: 
 
"It is no hidden fact that I like 3-5-2. I like to have two players in every position. I need two wing-backs. And I'll obviously get Tom Barkhuizen and Nat Mendez-Laing fitter, so they can do it more.
"But they need help. We need centre-backs, we need centre forwards, we need a lot, really. That's the truth."
There are a number of players out on that pitch (and sitting as underused subs) who either already know they aren't part of Warne's 3-5-2 plans or don't want to be. It showed today.
As a fan at every away game this season, I'm hearing a lot more discontent in the stands than I'm reading on here. We do the hard miles every week, pay out a shed-load of money and are bemused by what we're trying to acheive at the moment. There's no pattern, no cohesion and little to give us heart. I think we're entitled to criticise when it's due.
We sang our socks off in that second half as we wanted to get those lads over the line for what would have been a very undeserved victory. They looked disappointed and a bit sheepish when they came over to us at the end. Some of them didn't come over at all. I didn't notice Warne at all but I left about ten minutes after the end.
We're rapidly losing that togetherness that saw us through the toughest of times last year. Makes me feel sad.

I think with Warney it’s not today in isolation, it’s the catalogue of crap refereeing decisions leading to penalties given against us, not being given against us, goals being allowed that against shouldn’t be allowed and disallowed when they shouldn’t be. Barnsley, Shrewsbury, Lincoln, Plymouth, Peterborough, Ipswich now Bristol today critical incorrect decisions at critical points in all the matches and that’s just in the past 6-8 weeks, wouldn’t have made a difference to the result at Barnsley possibly but fundamentally affected the results in all the other matches. No way is that going to even itself out. In 30 years of watching them I’ve never known a run of bad calls like it.
I agree we need to move on, we were s**** today but would’ve held on if not for the ref but we didn’t put MK away when we should’ve done 

Threadbare yes, but if all he can offer is this disjointed stuff that he calls footie, that's no good enough for me. I have had it with the "small squad", "no money", "we are lucky to have a club narrative". If all he can offer what is currently played with tye likes of Hourihane, Barkz, Bird, Cash, Wildsmith, an on fire Didzy, NML, Knight, Smith... all players that have played higher up at a decent level, then I'm sorry it's just not good enough, threadbare squad or not.

I've just watched the penalty decision over and over again and it looks a correct decision every time tbh. White wasn't strong enough - again - and in going to ground he wipes out the Rovers player. 
What a dismal performance again. Wildsmith's timewasting is pathetic, Knight is regressing badly and Collins offers nothing. Nowt. We'd be much improved just with Didzy up top and giving Collins' shirt to someone else. Anyone else. 
The tippy tappy at the back we saw under Cocu, Rooney and Rosenior is something I can do without again but the idea then was to play attractive football when we got it forward too. This long ball guff, completely nullifying Hourihane and Bird's strengths, is awful to watch.

They’ll fine him as he comments in the video, it won’t change anything in our favour apart from maybe encouraging any future officials to bear the comments in mind, however unlikely
