DavesaRam reacted to Mucker1884 in Fleetwood Home Sat 18th March 3.00pm
Thanks @angieram ?
"They" do still prefer it if you stay away from the public for 5 days (10days for the more vulnerable), but you're right, it's no longer compulsory. We've got out for a few laps around The Racecourse this week, when we've felt up to it. Ended up WFH all week, when the initial plan last weekend was to hopefully be back by Weds/Thurs.
Symptoms ("Flu-like") have been up and down. Groggy, snotty and achy one day, "Almost fine" the next. Then a step back again!
This morning (touch wood) is probably the first time I've felt physically up for going, in all honesty. Wouldn't have even been tempted up to yesterday, as I've just not felt well enough.
Yes, technicality I am free to go today, but one coughing bout, and that NE corner will empty faster than being 4 down on 70mins in a play-off first leg! ?
It may not be contagious, but it sure as hell sounds it! ?
Not helpedby being surrounded by a good number of kiddies and pensioners! (AKA, "The more vulnerable"!)
Sometimes it's just nice to do "The right thing", even if the opposite doesn't mean you'd be doing "The wrong thing". (I know what I mean!)
Back to work Monday, and hopefully back to normal thereafter.
Enjoy the game. Give 'em a cheer for me! ?

Totally f***** it. Went out last night thinking I’d be fine to get back for the game later on this morning. Only just seen there’s strikes….

Shouldn't that be, fallen foul the rules that the EFL might make up in the future and back date?
Regarding the straight line amortisation policy, I see that Harry Kane is entering the final year of his contract and might sold for £100m, does that mean that was worth £400m, 3 years ago? ?

The thread is also a good place to discuss how the EFL deal with other clubs who have fallen foul of the EFL rules.

I do. But there was a chance of a bit of joshing with Mucker. What’s not to like?

Is it? Or was it the system that worked at Rotherham with their resources?

I so very nearly... well... Let's just say, I got there in the end, and avoided the embarrassment of having to ask! Phew! ? ?

If he was an accountant then right out of the blue his office chair would collapse with the shaft going straight through the seat and up his butt. And as he grabbed something to stop him falling off the chair his hand hit the top of his pen which stabbed through his palm. Then the chair stopped collapsing, throwing his body forwards, making his head tip forwards, poking his eye out on the pen sticking out of the back of his hand.
It’s all in a day’s work for an accountant. I should know - my son is a chartered accountant.
Stick to footy, Kristian, its much safer!

DavesaRam reacted to ram59 in The Sibley Enigma
We need to utilise Sibley and his talent more. Look at some of his goals this season, the 2 on Saturday and the one in the cup spring to mind, how many top players can finish with such quality with their 'wrong' foot? None of them were a lucky swing, they were all very deliberate finishes. I've lost count of the number of times, over the years, that I see a golden opportunity falling to a player on his 'wrong' foot, you before he's struck the ball that it'll have more chance of hitting the corner flag than the back of the net.
On that subject, for some years now clubs have been coaching kids from a very early age, why aren't they coached to be able to kick the ball with both feet?

Mcgoldrick’s been playing as a 9 mostly since the new year, play him and Sibley together, Sibley gives us more in terms of goals and assists from than Knight does, try Knight on the wing and have him, Sibley and one of the wingers providing energy and pace behind Mcgoldrick.

They ought to look at the Trees while they are at it for similarly playing fast and loose with inter-club transfers. GO GET ‘EM, RICK!

DavesaRam reacted to vonwright in Bielik at Brum
Of all our terrible signings, Bielik isn't one of them. He's had two ACLs - just freakish terrible luck - and when fit has shown enough for us to know that without those injuries he would have been an absolute rock.
There's a difference between a bad transfer (and we've had plenty of them) and bad luck. Bielik is bad luck.
If instead of what seems like dozens of Butterfields and Blackmans and Joswiaks, we'd just have signed three or four Bieliks, we'd be in a much better place.

To be fair we had to cobble a squad together that first season down under restrictions, not as tight as yours but again it was no fees and a wage cap so I have nothing but admiration for what you've managed so far.
