Wasn’t the rumour at the time that Pearson sussed out who the problems were in the dressing room, and in a (very rare) moment of self awareness this caused Keogh to go running to Morris who promptly sacked Pearson thus proving his point?
His ten games or whatever it was were really, really bad, but I do wonder whether things would’ve got as bad as they subsequently did, if Pearson had just been allowed to get on with it. But never mind.

You know it’s been a rough season for Notts Forest when your defence for your owner being an “alleged” drug trafficker and witness tamperer is to mention Derby selling their stadium to themselves.

Surprised that the 4-4 vs Ipswich at home just after Clough got sacked hasn't been mentioned. Even before Mac's HT intervention I remember my dad saying that he thought we were still in it.
Slightly further back - Newcastle at home 2009/10. They were on a 15 game unbeaten run and ended the season with 102(!!) points, whilst we were looking nervously over our shoulder at the other end of the table at the time.
One thing about Clough is you knew he’d get us right up for games like that Newcastle one. See also the voodoo we had over Forest and Leeds at the time.
Remember a 2-1 win away at Leeds when Bucko scored a last minute winner. Think we had a penalty which Sammon took for some reason and he even managed to mishit that, but Coutts scored the rebound.
Think there was another away win there which I’m certain was in the league but for some reason was live on BBC, in the Bueno season, but before he’d arrived. Possibly the first game of the season.

Sheff United and Fulham at home in Rooney’s season
Cant remember exactly and might be making it all up but I think Reading had won earlier in the day when we beat Fulham. I think we’d have gone on to stay up if they hadn’t. Either way was a great performance and result

It’s a funny one isn’t it. If we were to go down then there’s probably no one you’d rather have managing in 12 months time, which would make it difficult to assess what you do with him if we were to be in trouble. I’m not sure if a new contract complicates or simplifies that.
I think and hope we can be safe ish this season, never looking in huge trouble but consolidating, with steps taken to add a bit more long term value to the squad. If we do that, Warne will have earned another contract when he has a year left. But I don’t think it would be necessary now. I thought at the time, and still think really, the 4 years was excessive, although on the other hand maybe if it’s shorter Warne goes earlier in the season.

Nyambe and CBT are slightly redundant if we continue with wing backs.
Nyambe perfect for one of the wider centre back roles and CBT in the front 2/3 depending on the shape

Right sided CB in the 3. Rooney backing him up.
Bradley backing Nelson up in the middle and Forsyth backing up Cashin on the left. Shouldn’t be an area of priority for recruitment I don’t think, unless there’s a daft bid for Cashin or they decide Rooney is best served going out on loan.

Seen Tom Bayliss confirmed being released by Shrewsbury. Would definitely give that a look for midfield. Bonus he’s a Derby fan.
I saw that myself and read the replies on Twitter as I was surprised. Didn’t seem too many (any) Shrewsbury fans upset at him leaving but had it in my head he was a decent player. Just didn’t seem a ringing endorsement.

Deleted after it caused another wave of tears that nearly flooded the Trent. It’s a shame they aren’t as good at picking up points as they are at whinging

His brother seems to have gone very quiet? Not seen anything of him of late.
Been injured a lot I think. When Liverpool had the phase recently of lots of their “academy” players getting minutes he tended to be on the bench but not really making appearances.
Hope he gets properly fit and healthy and makes an impact.

Been good to see the collective headloss continue or if anything even heighten today. Lots of “we don’t care what anyone else says” which is of course something you definitely say when you don’t care.

If anyone is that way inclined and wants a bit of insurance, for the price of two pre match pints of Carling you could have anywhere between 2 and 5 season tickets for next year should the worst happen.
Bolton 100/1, and Peterborough 1000/1 to finish top 2. Derby 1/1000.

It’s good stuff it really is. Handball is “seen them given” I.e. 50/50 even with tree shaped glasses. Next one is less of a penalty than that. Then the statement is completely justified. The Athletic hiring these glorified season ticket holders as their club correspondents is a damning indictment.

Unfortunately as soon as you decide you are going to check offsides with lines there can’t really be any leeway or subjectivity, it is simply a yes/no decision.
The only way is to treat it like any other decision and use the naked eye which would hopefully eliminate the shockers and mean the really tight ones stay as is. But dunno if that’s any better and will never happen anyway.

Not even sure the penalties were that blatant really. You might expect to get one of them. I am surprised they’ve not released a statement expressing concern that their 3rd first choice keeper of the season let in two pissy pea rollers or perhaps criticising the clown who keeps signing these muppets.

Who on earth do these freaks think they are.
Surely a Luton fan would want a draw to keep two teams in touch anyway. Bizarre

Not his fault we gave him a fat contract then didn’t want to use him
