  1. Sheff United and Fulham at home in Rooney’s season Cant remember exactly and might be making it all up but I think Reading had won earlier in the day when we beat Fulham. I think we’d have gone on to stay up if they hadn’t. Either way was a great performance and result
  2. It’s a funny one isn’t it. If we were to go down then there’s probably no one you’d rather have managing in 12 months time, which would make it difficult to assess what you do with him if we were to be in trouble. I’m not sure if a new contract complicates or simplifies that. I think and hope we can be safe ish this season, never looking in huge trouble but consolidating, with steps taken to add a bit more long term value to the squad. If we do that, Warne will have earned another contract when he has a year left. But I don’t think it would be necessary now. I thought at the time, and still think really, the 4 years was excessive, although on the other hand maybe if it’s shorter Warne goes earlier in the season.
  3. Nyambe perfect for one of the wider centre back roles and CBT in the front 2/3 depending on the shape
  4. Right sided CB in the 3. Rooney backing him up. Bradley backing Nelson up in the middle and Forsyth backing up Cashin on the left. Shouldn’t be an area of priority for recruitment I don’t think, unless there’s a daft bid for Cashin or they decide Rooney is best served going out on loan.
  5. I saw that myself and read the replies on Twitter as I was surprised. Didn’t seem too many (any) Shrewsbury fans upset at him leaving but had it in my head he was a decent player. Just didn’t seem a ringing endorsement.
  6. Absolutely ridiculous that the PGMOL have made them defend that corner with 10 men
  7. Be very surprised if Forsyth isn’t already signed up. Was it mentioned on here he’s said it was all but done? Plus Dom Dietrich didn’t even question him about it yesterday and their chat sounded very much like he was stopping around.
  8. Deleted after it caused another wave of tears that nearly flooded the Trent. It’s a shame they aren’t as good at picking up points as they are at whinging
  9. Been injured a lot I think. When Liverpool had the phase recently of lots of their “academy” players getting minutes he tended to be on the bench but not really making appearances. Hope he gets properly fit and healthy and makes an impact.
  10. Or, of course, it could be the fact that nobody outside of West Bridgford is in any way arsed about a couple of marginal decisions and no one has really paid attention to the clubs faux intimidating tantrum
  11. Been good to see the collective headloss continue or if anything even heighten today. Lots of “we don’t care what anyone else says” which is of course something you definitely say when you don’t care.
  12. If anyone is that way inclined and wants a bit of insurance, for the price of two pre match pints of Carling you could have anywhere between 2 and 5 season tickets for next year should the worst happen. Bolton 100/1, and Peterborough 1000/1 to finish top 2. Derby 1/1000.
  13. It’s good stuff it really is. Handball is “seen them given” I.e. 50/50 even with tree shaped glasses. Next one is less of a penalty than that. Then the statement is completely justified. The Athletic hiring these glorified season ticket holders as their club correspondents is a damning indictment.
  14. Unfortunately as soon as you decide you are going to check offsides with lines there can’t really be any leeway or subjectivity, it is simply a yes/no decision. The only way is to treat it like any other decision and use the naked eye which would hopefully eliminate the shockers and mean the really tight ones stay as is. But dunno if that’s any better and will never happen anyway.
  15. Not even sure the penalties were that blatant really. You might expect to get one of them. I am surprised they’ve not released a statement expressing concern that their 3rd first choice keeper of the season let in two pissy pea rollers or perhaps criticising the clown who keeps signing these muppets.
  16. Blessed to have had these clowns as our rivals this season
  17. Who on earth do these freaks think they are. Surely a Luton fan would want a draw to keep two teams in touch anyway. Bizarre
  18. They’d be playing against Blackburn and Plymouth if VAR had done its job properly
  19. Never felt so jealous of someone from Hull
  20. The constraints get mentioned all the time, they are hardly a secret. Warne has done a good job this season, I’ve literally said we’re good at what we do. I was replying to someone who said L1 footballers can’t play pretty football. I just think that’s not really true, if you have better players than the competition then you probably can. Our starting XI is experienced but hardly dads army. So when we have a relatively worse team next season (if promoted) it’ll be harder to improve the style / play a different style, which is probably fine because we won’t want to then either. I don’t really see how it can be called entitled when I’ve not even moaned about style of play. Just said it’s not to my taste, because it isn’t. I can sit here and swallow it when we win. No one knows whether it would be worth it to establish a better style of play. Maybe we’ll be sat here in 12 months facing relegation having struggled to adapt to the Championship. Maybe if we’d gone in a different direction we’d have missed out this year, but walked L1 next year playing swashbuckling football ready to take the championship on. Maybe we go up this year and finish top 6. Who knows or frankly cares?
  21. Yes I knew mistakenly using the word buy instead of sign would be picked up once I’d read it back and couldn’t edit it anymore, but I’m not really sure it drastically changes the point being made. We have better players than most teams in the division because we can pay players more than most teams in the division. For example I don’t really think us being allowed to spend a few hundred k on an ultra ball playing defender would’ve meant we’d have done that over signing Sonny Bradley. And that’s fine and not even a criticism, we’ve an incredible defensive record. Just no need to pretend we can’t possibly have tried to play better football.
  22. Daniel Storey one of the better Forest fan journos. John Percy probably writing an article now about how the price rises show incredible ambition by the owners.
