I guess sooner or later a case like this is inevitable. There are many millions at stake and clubs are basically just flouting the rules.
Not sure how the authorities can prevent member clubs from suing each other - they can put it in their rules, but then those rules could be subject to legal challenge too.
In our case my main objection was that there was no talk about suing us until after we'd gone into administration, and even then it wasn't formal legal action but simply a claim that they were creditors who might take formal legal action if they didn't get satisfaction from the EFL. It was basically a way of holding a stricken club to ransom by preventing a quick sale. And the EFL went along with it.
It would be very hard to prove damages in a court case, of course, but it feels like we will end up with one at some point and if nothing else that might give clarity, and/or force proper restructuring, oversight and enforcement of the rules.

So in summary it says Burnley & Leeds have written to the Premier League to say they deserve the right to take legal action against Everton and/or the Premier League as they say they have been disadvantaged by Everton's overspending. Sounds familiar.
Everton lost £371.8m over the last 3 years (FFP limit £105m) but have claimed for £170m of "covid losses" to be excluded, along with the usual exclusions.
For comparison with similarly sized clubs,  Aston Villa claimed for £56m and Newcastle £40m for "covid losses".

It's been really easy to blame Q for many things, and to be fair, they could be guilty of some of them, but I found it interesting that, Squire Patton Boggs, {great name btw} the law firm representing CK on this, who it appears have vast experience in football dealing, have come out and said that the deal for Derby has been the most complex in their history.
“We are delighted to have supported Chris Kirchner in a deal that will hopefully secure the future of Derby County Football Club," he said. "This is the most complex, high-stakes football transaction that we have advised on, with the separation of the ownership of Pride Park from the club one of a number of issues to navigate in structuring the deal....."

True, agree that's her job, although the way she went about it, and the defamatory language used "copying" RV comments gives us a pretty go idea of the sort of person she is too.
If rumours are true, although I think RV is denying them at the moment, they'll be off to the US soon to start over.  Would make sense too I guess since I think JV is part owner of one of the MLS clubs isn't he?

He's been active on social media for some time and overall it's refreshing that he communicates honestly to us - it's something we've had a lack of since this debacle began.  I think he's also a great believer in free speech, so allows it.  What galls though is that a minority of our so-called fans then feel they need to show their appreciation of what he's doing for us by posting defamatory and derogatory remarks.  I get it's been a horrible time but jeez, it's embarrassing to think of myself as being part of this same fanbase when you see things like this.
If they are on this forum they really ought to be ashamed of themselves and go and support someone else. They're certainly not representative of what 99.9% of us stand for.  And if they're not on this forum....well, they should still be ashamed of themselves.

And the context for those not on Twitter.  And such support from Mr Ratcliffe - why are our so-called fans laying into him like this when he's the one man here to give our club a future.  If you're on here, take a step back please, count to 10 and let things play out.  You've waited 2 years FFS, just one more week hopefully then we move on.

Reach have destroyed the local network of websites, yet Social media and online streaming services have changed football journalism.
When was the last time you read a match report following a game, be it the paper or on the DET or club website?
I personally couldn't tell you, we're talking years now easily.
You can watch the games for a few quid a month now with your own eyes, even if you live on the other side of the world the full 90 minutes are available to watch online.
We have forums, Twitter, Facebook, group chat apps like WhatsApp which allows you to connect to thousands of fans, following those you value their opinions.
Gone are the days where if you couldn't get to the ground you were reliant on one person to relay what they saw with a long read article.
Press conferences, again covered by the club through it's own outlets, across social media by the BBC who are funded by the government not advertisements so no need to find devious ways to direct you to their websites.
So what's left for them? The only thing that really drives the traffic now is transfer speculation, so to hit those Reach quota's they will run articles on anyone with some kind of following on social media, rehash it across multiple articles with clickbaity titles to draw you in.
Your OG journalists at the local press are up against huge competition in the transfer speculation market as well, very few will break any stories now.
Radio will go the same way, listener numbers will be massively down now compared to what they were a few years ago, only a matter of time until the BBC decide they can't justify sending commentary teams across the country to cover games outside the Premier League.

Yeah, it's no surprise he's left - he is/was a proper journo who was forced to conform.  I suspect he hated every second of it.
New guy Leigh has now taken up the reins with awesome articles such as this: https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/sport-opinion/derby-county-wayne-rooney-contract-7096452
I'll save you the trouble - no news, nothing, nada, zilch.  Just the usual clickbait headline and a re-hash, copy and paste old news article telling us diddly squat.

Yeah true, albeit that could have come for other WAGs.  Regardless, people may now look at JV in a new light and question whether he can be trusted if it was indeed him passing details on other players.  I wonder if CR's lawyer will ask where she got that info.  Be interesting to see how she answers under oath. Either way they've created a humongous mess for themselves.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned, but one thing I've found interesting this past week or so is the complete lack of so-called breaking news stories from the likes of Nixon, who has simply been responding with monosyllabic click-bait answers to questions on Twitter.  If you read Kirch's posts last night, I think Q and him have kept a very tight ship sorting out the final details, and not involved the EFL.  No EFL, no leak to Nixon.

I'd add a 9a. Forced to accept buy outs of sell on clauses for at least 1/8th of the value they'd be worth in 2 years.

I get your post but tbh I don't care.  Leicester's situation was different to us too. We've had enough poo said about us to last a lifetime.  Water off a ram's back now. When we start in L1 we'll be the team they want to beat, not because we got off lightly or anything, but simply because we'll be one of, if not the biggest clubs in the league and probably be seen as most team's cup final, especially at PP where there'll likely be 20k plus fans.
