This is what I’ve missed! 26 days ago we didn’t have a club,no owner,5 players,no season tickets sold,no kit or sponsor and a couple of weeks behind in the pre season fitness stakes.Now the club is safe,we have an owner,15,000 season tickets sold and 11 new players signed with more to come.All other areas of the club improved and work in progress on those that haven’t.
How soon we forget..?

Genuinely, do people think that a squad thrown together in a few weeks, all on free transfers (albeit some good players in there) is going to walk the league?
I accept that we should be beating Alfreton Town, but the depth of feeling (and exasperated criticism) exhibited during the pre-season games suggests great expectations, which I’m personally not sure are justified. Managing my expectations has done wonders for my blood pressure

Not to be underestimated this level. It’s tough to play in and full of players that with a bit of luck or a change of circumstances could or should be playing pro football. 
There’ll be players who played for our first team last year that could well end up at this level unfortunately.  

I don’t think anyone has forgotten, we are just embracing the moment and resuming normal service. ?. It’s great isn’t it ?
The knives are out, as are the champ manager aces, wannabe PL scouts and Sky pundits. It’s bliss and joy. I’m loving it. 
now Strettons career is over, what are the odds he scores ! 
 
But I am worried about Tommo, he was so consistent last season .. wassup ?

So glad a lot of fans have forgotten what we’ve been through and are back to absolutely slating our players. We really do have the best fans. ???

4 more is about right, assuming Fozzy re-signing is a formality.
Another keeper, another right back, a wide forward option, and a central forward. Get those 4 correct and it would pretty much give us depth with a couple of players for each position and some flexibility with formations. Things would be stretched if we’re cursed with a couple of injuries but that’s the reality of the situation currently.

No mate.  Anyone can own a corner flag, regardless of nationality.

Aaarrgghh! You’ve just reminded me of the first name I put down on the team sheet for my all-time worst DCFC team!!Just before teatime as well!

I can’t see that. I think as a minimum it would be a split between the two but from how consistent Roberts has started it could be his to lose. 

I thought we did OK. 
 
A team thrown together in 3 weeks holding a Premier League team (second fiddle or not they had some good talent on that pitch) and looking good in spells. 
 
Everybody around me was saying we’ll be OK in league 1 and I agree with them. 
 
Why don’t some people wait to judge after the first game next week when our “real” level opposition comes to PP. 

That’s alright, he’ll score next week when it matters 

And that is what this type of workout is for. Better communication at the back as they grow together and face this type of opposition as well as learning who makes what runs and plays whats balls as you go forward. Get your legs and lungs in and positional awareness in a formation.
You'll concede some as you play but also score some, and with lovely quality as well like we did as we do.
 
I'm sure Liam will be very happy with what he's seen so far.
