Until the last week it has been a long time since I had been at a Derby Match. My Dad has said I’ve probably seen some of the best football so far this season. So, this thread is starting with genuine positivity from me, as my brother Daniel (B4) would also have done. This match means so much more to the Beavis family than any result. We want everyone to wave their scraves and flanges (not literally, ladies 🙈) and raise the roof for both DCFC and Daniel. Please share the details of the applause far and wide.
I’m reliably told I need to predict a 3-0 win to Derby.
My dad, Andy and I, will be in the east stand, stairway 35. We’ll be having a drink before the match and at halftime. Please do come and say hello.

Shame to see so-called fans labelling our own player as 'dogshit' and other choice terms. By all means call him out on the game, but is the abuse really necessary? He's a Derby player after all. Some on here might like to consider how they'd feel if they were being assessed in such charming terms for their efforts at their place of work. Whatever you think of his ability, he's still a Rams player and entitled to a modicum of respect from us fans as such. He's also 5 from 13 in the league this season, which is far from the horror story some of the drama queens on here portray. Hard to imagine, other spitting on the badge or flat out throwing it in, what would actually warrant terms like 'dogshit', but missing an easy square pass certainly isn't one of them. And this after we've won the game too!
Likewise Exeter - without fail, every time we win, we get a chorus of "well (insert club name) were by far the worst team we've faced all millennium" type comments. So f****** tedious. Last night, Oxford were beaten by a team languishing in the bottom 3 and Portsmouth could not muster a goal in 95 minutes against the mighty Cambridge, which more sensible heads might think tells you all you need to know about this league. The fact is, we're a league 1 team (as was evidenced by our failure to secure promotion last season) and right now we're playing like one, as often as not. The very same people who sagely pontificated on how hard it would be to get out of this league, are some the chippiest ***** on here now we're struggling. Get in the bin!
As for the game, the result was never in doubt. I thought we looked comfortable, pretty much throughout and were more than good value for the 2-0. They tried to play football, which was a pleasant surprise, but we were very good without the ball last night, harrying and pressing well and you could see their last vestiges of hope evaporate with the second goal. On the rare occasions they enjoyed a little possession, we kept our shape brilliantly and never really gave them too much hope. I think we look as good as any team I've seen in the league defensively speaking and we have a decent quality midfield if we can somehow keep Max healthy of mind and body and in good form. Still short of that explosive goal threat, though if we play like we did last night, we've enough to trouble most sides.
As for the result, it could and maybe should have been 4-0 and without the interventions of the myopic linesman, it might well have been. Surely that is worthy of more than begrudging praise, if any. Let's be honest here, there's no such thing as a 'routine win' for a side with our current home record! With 'routine' help from the officials, more often than not we conspire to turns 3 points into 1, or none at all, so let's not pretend otherwise, eh!
Moving forwards, I hope that this is not another false dawn and that the attacking line-up is deployed against all but the best teams in the league, where a more circumspect approach is perhaps understandable. While I think we're a long way off Championship quality right now, we do have a strongish squad for L1 and we really need to be ensconcing ourselves firmly in the top 6 sooner, rather than later. Meet that milestone and we can then set about trying to reel in Oxford and / or Pompey which is a far from impossible feat if we can just add some consistency to our game.

Yep spot on , I am happy to talk about Collins pros and cons and the bits I find frustrating ( needless fouls ) but exactly the same as warne I find the way some talk about the bloke on here just beyond decent and fair ,,
for good or bad these are footballers/ managers who work for our club at present and doing they’re best as far as I can see , next we will have people saying if Collins had any decency he would rip up his contract and walk away from derby and give up his ability to earn a living Ala warne ,,,,utter poop and some should really take a look at what they post sometimes 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve been reading this and various threads for the last couple of days without posting, as I can’t work out how to properly articulate my position without being labelled one thing or the other and I’ve mentioned before the growing apathy I feel about the conversation, @David’s post sort of captured some of that sentiment. What follows is my stance, my opinion, which may contradict others but is not borne in the pursuit of conflict.
I am, and always have been, pro-patience rather than pro-Warne per se. My reasons for this have been expressed at various points in various threads and without giving everyone my life story it is grounded in the fact that I am one of those that is “happy to still have a club”, that recognises the trauma of the recent past and is content to be following the club regardless of where I believe we should or could be. In hindsight I realise I hated the circus and spotlight of the late Morris years, we went from being a well liked club by most to almost universally disliked and as such I was and still am content to be out of that spotlight for a period of time, how long for I don’t know as I recognise the points made by those opposed to Warne about the damage it could do to the clubs finances and reputation if it’s too long.
I suppose I want a quiet life at home and in sport (which I appreciate is a contradiction in itself). I’m a fence sitter as some of our learned forum members have pointed out in the past. At times naively blinded by a bit of optimism and hope.
I like the game Warne talks - win the ball back, high energy, get it forward, score goals, blow teams away? Yes please! I think the recruitment this year was good and gives us some depth and balance, I was convinced we’d added some quality and experience along with a couple of rough gems. I actually like the idea of having a good culture at the club and good characters (probably a mix of wanting to move away from the Morris circus and attending one too many corporate leadership events). I felt once the injuries subsided and the team gelled we’d see that football Warne keeps talking about….
And here comes the BUT many of you have been waiting for,  I have to concede it’s not working at the moment is it? Something isn’t right, and Clowes is left with a decision, give it more time pending any off the field considerations and conversations we’re not privy too (finances, initial agreed performance targets, subsequent requirements to improve etc) or pull the trigger and recruit someone else.
I don’t yet think Warne will be sacked, and I still want it to work, but in reality as I said on Sat I think it’s probably a case of when not if unless there is some sort of miraculous turnaround in terms of both performance and results. Without that upturn in form and performance I think the discontent gets louder and then it is a test of Clowes mettle as to what path he chooses.
One last thought, to those saying Warne has singular reign over the football at the club, from what the club has stated publicly that isn’t the case. There is this “football executive” made up of Pearce, Warne, Thomas, Hale, Buxton(?) which discusses through regular meetings the direction of all aspects of the club isn’t there? Which could partly explain Warne’s implied recruitment frustrations, and also may serve to protect some of the longer term prospects many have expressed about the club. I take it to be that Warne isn’t single handedly undoing the whole fabric of the club as the football executive prevents that sole voice/direction.

Properly get pelters for this as 80% seem to have made their mind up over Warne, but anyone else just had enough with the constant negativity towards the players and staff? It’s relentless.
Even after last nights win I’m seeing people try and twist it negatively, overall last night we played faster tempo had chances and won end off, so why the negativity?
Warnes come out and said last night about blocking outside noise out, really think knocking them will help? It’ll only make it worse, 5 in 11 for Collins decent return, what’s booing him and giving him stick going to do? Why can’t we get behind them? We’re in league 1 we won’t have world beaters that will do everything so perfectly.

1 defeat in 10 due to some terrible refereeing it’s not anywhere near as bad as people are making out, it’s as if we’ve won 1 in 10.
I can be as negative as anyone and as annoyed as anyone when we drop points etc but it’s the bigger picture move on we go again, It’s not an easy league like people expect, Sunderland sheff united Ipswich Bolton etc all got stuck for time, and probably only Bolton started in a worse rebuild situation as us…
it’s absolutely draining all the constant ‘get him gone’ ‘whose next’ ‘he’s just a P.E teacher’ I’ve missed 1 away game and 1 home and it’s honestly making me not want to go, Blackpool people singing ‘warne your football is sh*t’ then 5 minutes later singing his name, honestly think if people stop over reacting and seemingly wanting Warne to fail we could get out of this league this year. Rant over roll on the draining stick that’ll come…

I think back to that long unbeaten run last season that ended when Max got injured. I get that some don't like him, as a player, but he's the glue that keeps the side together when fit and playing. A bit like Durban or McGovern. Overlooked, even dismissed, until they're not there and then you realise how important they are to the side.

I was a bit gobsmacked when Smith was awarded MOTM at the ground yesterday. Thought he was partly responsible for both of their goals, regardless of how well he played in the rest of the game.
I was screaming at him for their second, he was just watching rather than busting a gut to get back. When he did finally sprint he got almost up to their player, if he'd done it earlier he'd have been in a position to clean up that rebound.
