Really don't want to buy into the whole 'we are doomed' idea, but this is rather worrying and a fire sale seems fairly likely now, even if all ends up well in the end.
On another note, working in a not-too dissimilar industry, I'd be fuming if one of my colleagues had stated something was imminent to either client or public, only for the item to remain outstanding a week later. Number one rule is to manage expectations.

It would be so Derby, if the administrators had gone into administration.

Colm reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in The Administration Thread
I think its time administrators got up off there back sides and told the fans what the hell is going on, and not via their friends at Talksport either.
How can a club make such an arse of a takeover so many times.

To be honest he doesn’t have the answers so no point asking him and last night needed to be purely about the football and the amazing efforts of this team!

One more point from a rare trip to a game - loved the applause and finally the chants for Harry Wilson. Must have made him feel very special when he went off to have the away end sing ‘he’s got to be worth 50 million’. Nice touch for someone who’s season with the club left a legacy of some remarkable memories.

Colm reacted to cherry exile in Staying up this season would be a greater achievement than winning the English League title.
Hi
Bournemouth supporter here and congratulations on the win yesterday. Should have been a draw but that's not what I came on here for.
In 2008-09 we were on zero points after 19 games - having started on -17. We were also under a transfer embargo, were struggling to pay players and had a team with several on-league and out-of-contract recruits. For us the rest is History as Eddie Howe stepped up from youth team coach on 1st January, lost his first 2 games but we stayed up on 46 points.
OK! OK! I know it was League 2, and you don't want a Bournemouth history lesson. My point simply is - it can be done. Your home support may just help -it was pretty impressive yesterday.
Hope you manage it.
Good luck.

Colm reacted to Comrade 86 in Alan Nixon Breaks Silence on American Billionaire Bid
There may be, but the admins have gone pretty quiet about the multiple bidders piece and thus far, we only know that Chris is happy to take a punt irrespective of sanctions / relegation. This might be simply because others are working under NDA but until Quantuma confirm as much and we get to see the cut of their jib, Chris remains in pole position in my mind.
I don't really get this whole, 'he's too brash, too American' thing anyway. I think he was simply trying to have the craic with us fans and make sure we knew where his heart is. I'll not be issuing any character judgements based on such limited evidence anyway. He obviously took onboard the criticism in any case as he's dialled things down most recently. I take that as a positive thing, though I concede that others may take more persuading.

Or the bloke from last night who said "you know" more times than Andy Cole did in his whole career. Why ring in if you can string a sentence without "you know" 100 times .. almost as bad as the Snowflakes ... Like, like ,like, like. Just saying.

First caller will be Barry from Burton asking why Rooney hasn't tried Forsyth in a more advanced role.

Colm reacted to Rev in Let's make Sunday "Duck the EFL day".
Live on Sky in front of the nation, let's have 90 minutes of the above chant loud and clear.
I wanna see it scrawled on bedsheets and T-shirts, maybe get the kids involved to come up with creative banners.
Maybe get Rooney to scribble it on his clipboard too.

Colm reacted to Pearl Ram in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
Come on Kath, that line doesn’t wash. People saw Morris as a competent and responsible businessman. As far as I’m concerned, if we were spending 8, 10, 12 million quid it was, I believed, budgeted for. There was a business plan.
Yeah, I thought it was great and I was all “ good old boy Mel” but I never thought for a second Morris would turn out to be to Derby County what Sarah Millican is to comedy.
-
Colm reacted to Norman in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
Nah, I'm not having this.
We were told we were right on the line after most of the extravagant spending. Every penny counted.
Derby fans did not encourage gambling, did not encourage spending what Mel could not afford or have the details on wages and fees paid. There is no blame on Derby fans for that.

I always thought you were some gun-slinging yeehah cowboy called Pistol Pete, and quite frankly, I rather admired you for it... I've only just noticed that you are nothing of the sort, and that you are actually pist and old... but still called Pete.
I feel partly embarrassed that I've been reading your username wrong all this time, but if truth be told, I also feel a little cheated!
This day just keeps going from bad to worse! ?

Colm reacted to Bris Vegas in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
Let’s just get all the points penalties now and start next season fresh with a new owner in League One.
People saying -21 points is the worst case scenario. it isn’t at all. We’re already going down with -12 points. Worst case scenario is relegation and then for the financial irregularity / punishment points deduction to happen in League One.
Starting next season in League One with zero points, a new owner and no hanging points deduction is among the best case scenarios.

Overspend by £4m get 9 points taken off. Reading must be bricking it with their £54m overspend, 121 point deduction incoming!

Colm reacted to PistoldPete in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
If true this is not remotely acceptable from the admin team. Hardly the tough negotiators I was expecting .15 points was too high . 21 points would be beyond ridiculous and a shabby reflection room on all concerned

Colm reacted to Day in Derby finally accept 21 point deduction.
I get the feeling some fans do not want us to be successful in this appeal, and then want the EFL to throw the book at us which would guarantee relegation and why?....Well we apparently deserve it.
One fact is, the administrators have taken a look at the books, and believe they have a case and as a Derby fan, call me odd, but I hope they are successful and the points deduction is reduced.
I know, I know, controversial right?! I promise you I'm not trolling here, I genuinely want us to be successful in this appeal.
