Colm reacted to DarkFruitsRam7 in It's Our Moment
As I woke up tired and hungover this morning, I had a thought. While it's always great hearing stories about the glory days of the 70s, the iconic 80s and the fun 90s, there's a whole generation of Derby fans who have only ever known disappointment. I myself had my first season ticket in the 2006/07 Billy Davies season, but I was too young to properly appreciate it.
Since then, it's been a mix of hope, heartbreak and 'nearly' moments. Our generation of supporters have witnessed other clubs' fans celebrating siuccess (sometimes at our expense), but we find it difficult to fathom what it would actually feel like for Derby to ever get over the line.
Yesterday, as I walked back back to the bus with my arm round my mate's shoulder, belting Derby songs at the top of our voices, I had the first taste of what it might feel like to experience success as a Derby fan. This morning, I started making preparations for post-game jaegerbombs and cigars next weekend. And thinking about how I'll be raising a glass to the lad that we all miss so much.
We're not over the line yet. But I'm well into dreaming territory. And for us fans who aren't old enough to know glory, it's going to be oh so sweet.
Up the Rams.

Just got back from Cambridge and currently in the Neptune, a big well done to the lads , a difficult game against a horrible side on a horrible pitch with crap officials , big shouts out for Collo , Sonny and Sibs today who I thought were all outstanding, forget Bolton and Peterborough and start the planning for the promotion party next Saturday, The Rams are going up ole ole

Brilliant defensive shift, with Louie and Nate adding the touch of class we needed to snatch the points from a Cambridge team who came to fight. All fans will doubtless be very pleased with the win, though I doubt many will say we played close to our best. Tough fixture and circumstances in which to do that though and I suspect the coaching team will be absolutely delighted with another clean sheet, as am I tbh!

Colm reacted to Scott129 in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
- Carlisle won't beat us by 2+ goals
- Bolton won't beat Peterborough by 3+ goals
-Peterborough won't win the next two games by 9+ goals
We're Championship as far as I'm concerned.

Oh no, does this mean I'll not be able to watch live games now?
Very Probably Not.

Colm reacted to Simmo’s left foot in RamsTV next season
This is not a step forward at all, it stifles competition and turns it into a closed shop for the benefit of Sky. Shame on the EFL for signing such a deal. and shame on the clubs for agreeing to it also.
I will continue to subscribe to Rams TV, my overseas trips currently cost me £5 per month 🙂 Will sky be showing all matches live like Rams TV does? I doubt it! I won't give my money to Sky TV on principle.
All fans should boycott Sky TV, they are destroying football in my opinion.

So that was the part of the brilliant new rights deal that the EFL negotiated that got the price up a tiny percentage was it.
It's a good job ramstv has such a loyal international viewership.

Colm reacted to downsouth in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
Pompey fan, in peace. I read (a lot) and posted (a little) when you were having issues with the ownership.
I just wanted to pass on my belated condolences for B4's passing - as an outsider it was clear how much he cared about your club. It's lovely to see how much warmth he commands and how he's being remembered.
I'm sure it doesn't need explaining that I hope my club gets up, but having read some of this thread I hope you manage to make it up with us. It's also a great reminder that football clubs are all about the people who support them. Raising a glass to Daniel this evening.

Colm reacted to B4’s Sister in B4 - for ever a Ram 🐏
When Daniel died I kept seeing rainbows everyday. I know how science and weather works but I like to think that’s his way of saying hello… or guiding dcfc to the back of the net 😂 I got to write a message on the dcfc changing room white board for the team to read today. I asked them to score a goal for Dan. Ebou delivered 🐏❤️🐏

Colm reacted to UTFR in Prediction for how it will end
Despite it being impossible, as they all play each other, I expect our four promotion rivals to take maximum points from their remaining games, while we fail to pick up a single point for the remainder of the season.
We finish 6th and, despite getting our hopes back up by sneaking past Bolton in the semis, we collapse in the against Lincoln in the final at Wembley blow a 2-0 lead to lose 5-2. Sending 40,000 Derby fans home unhappy, as 378 Imps celebrate promotion on Wembley Way.
Meanwhile, Leeds and Leicester claim Automatic promotion to the Premier League, and Nottingham Forest escape relegation by a point on the final day.All three go on to finish top 10 in the following season.
In League 2, Wrexham are promoted and proceed to spend £300m to assemble to strongest third tier side of all time, meaning that recently relegated Birmingham city have to settle for second place, as the Rams miss out again and head to Wembley to eventually lose to Rotherham. (Who are by then managed by Conor Hourihane)

Colm reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Prediction for how it will end
Uninspiring, deflated and limp with the Mrs rubbing my back and telling me it’s ok as I sob uncontrollably….but enough about my love life, as for the football I haven’t a clue 🤷🏻♂️

Colm reacted to uttoxram75 in Wildsmith
Whether Joe Wildsmith stays or not he will be remembered fondly. He's done his best for us, made some incredible saves and has been such an important part of our recovery.
If we go up and we offer him a contract it will have to be summatt special to make him go.
If Warne wants him he'll stay. There's no bigger club in the Championship so unless he gets offered silly money he'll want to see how far Derby can go.

Colm reacted to Chesterfield_Ram in The run-in: some analysis
The Northampton game is an important one psychologically for us. Win and we’re 2 points behind Portsmouth and 7 in front of Bolton. This could pressurise both teams as 1 slip up from Portsmouth could leave them in second place, and a slip up from Bolton could finish off their promotion push.
Yes they’ll have a game in hand, but there are very few easy games left for Portsmouth and Bolton already have to rely on us dropping points and them gaining them.

Colm reacted to Alty_Ram in Ed Dawes
I never really understood all the negativity myself. Personally I quite like to have the contrast on local radio of someone a bit more 'heart on sleeve', particularly if they are alongside someone a bit more analytical. For my tastes there is enough dry analysis of football these days from stat-grinders talking about XG or whatever so on local radio in particular I'm happy to hear a few instinctive and occasionally emotional comments and opinions as that is a much better fit for the game that I personally am following.
I definitely don't always agree with him but then that's not the point of his style I guess. He's a bit like that bloke at the pub after you drop in for a pint after the game. Sometimes you'll find yourself nodding to his comments and others you'll think nah, that's way too harsh on player X because player Y has constantly left him exposed by offering no cover.

Colm reacted to NG2Ram in Rail travel to games - away or home
IMO overcrowded trains are more of a issue than cost. If East Midlands Railway spent less money on their stupid TV adverts featuring that annoying purple t**t "Miles" and more on putting on extra carriages on their Saturday services it would be a start 😡

Surely there's one answer... make it affordable.
