Really don't understand the meltdown going on here. From the tone you'd think we'd just sacked Brian Clough rather than choosing not to make permanent an interim manager who has done an OK job.

    Clueless post.
Wait until we hear official confirmation and reasoning before jumping to such a childish conclusion.

For goodness sake let’s have some dignity for David Clowes .
We don’t know the situation yet

    Right here goes
During the summer I heard Derby went after two managers once Rooney was off - Warne and Robinson ((Oxford) but couldn’t get them at that point in time.
I have heard that Derby offered Liam the full time job about three weeks ago and he has chosen not to sign the contract offered which was his current salary - and his current salary is very good for a league one club and he wanted more money.
I suspect we wouldn’t sack him due to the size of his wage and we would wait for him to move on of his own volition.
let’s remember our owner did not want to buy a football club he saved us and and I am sure he wants to be back in the championship and sold to get his money back very quickly.
personally I don’t think Warne fits in with the players we currently have based on his previous styles of play of his teams but who knows he might be perfect if he comes here and the players are good enough to adapt sufficiently.
never a dull moment with our Derby county

The clue as to what might happen was always in the title "INTERIM..." so there was always a plan to REVIEW and the Board have decided to appoint an alternative. Looks and sounds like logical and calculated stewardship to me not "...David Clowes playing Football Manager."

Sorry mate. Whilst I honestly don't know if Paul Warne will be a success or not.
He's won promotion from this league 3 times and currently has Rotherham sat 8th in the Championship.
To say it's a sideways step from Rosenior is madness.

His style of football has got Rotherham promoted and 8th in the championship.
Do you like us going away thinking we played some nice stuff but didn't score?
We haven't got time to worry about style of football right now. We need winning football.

He absolutely needs to be replaced unfortunately.
He massively bottled it against Plymouth when he could and should have brought Rooney on and didn't.
He is setting the midfield up wrong and it results in us losing our midfield battles against league 1 opposition most games.
Not signing a proper RB is costing us and not player the one he did sign, allowing Knight to play further forward another problem.
Playing out from the back isn't working.
We are roughly 10 points from top 2.
We need a change and quick.

Can I ask what Liam has done to warrant another job. If the result tonight stays the same we are upper mid table. He has a very good team yet we struggle in most games.
Now I know most will say ‘well they need to gel’ but how long does that take? Six months?
If we are not comfortably in the play offs by Christmas, I am taking a four point cushion, then questions need to be asked about his position.
David Clowes clearly isn’t that struck otherwise he wouldn’t be our interim manager.

    Completely out of his depth.
How many games have we played well in this season? Barnsley first half, Charlton first half. Struggling to remember more.
Teams know how to stop us and Rosenior doesn't know how to come up with the answers.
It was clear after Plymouth that out midfield wasn't working. Crying out for Knight there. He's not even put Oduroh on the bench to give himself the option to move Knight during the game.
That's Shrewsbury, Fleetwood and Lincoln which could yield 2 points. Nowhere near good enough.
Says the other week that nobody is guaranteed to start, mentioning players like Hourihane etc. Said he's not afraid to play these young lads, Oduroh and Rooney after they've done well in cup games. Yet the following game they don't make the bench.
Bird is woeful at the moment. Absolutely woeful. Doesn't bring anything to this side at all. But continues to play.

I can’t even bother with an angry emoji. That rates as the worst post of the day.
A new striker, in a drought at a new club and he bags his opener. You write that ?

For the record .. it was a beautifully weighted ball from McGoldrick. He was 1 V 1 against an advancing goalie with a split second to make his decision. It was a sweet clean shot reversed against the goalies movement slotted neatly in the back of the net. No panic, no fluff, no snatched blast. Good finish end of story.

I take very little interest in the PL these days. Haven't got a Sky or other subscription (cancelled that a few years ago because I rarely watched games) and didn't even watch many MOTD or MOTD2 last season. I'd like to see Derby back there some day, but it's pointless me (or any other fan, other than DC) having that as an aspiration, because there is no way that we can make it happen. In the meantime, I can get plenty of enjoyment watching DCFC play in whatever competition they are in and leave the dreaming to others.

While some have had the bank holiday to pontificate on here all day, others have been at work so only just catching up with this.
Surely, for most of us, the answer to the question is yes, we are enjoying League 1, however we would like to have a decent season and be in the promotion mix at the end of it.
Somehow its been turned as if you cant enjoy the here and now because we're not playing Arsenal!
Life is too short to worry about playing in the Prem in a few years time. Enjoy the ride now and lets see where it takes us.

Before the season started, I knew that I would enjoy League One and I am. The structure of games is perfect, a league game every Saturday at 3pm, with the odd league or cup game on a Tuesday. Games aren’t being moved for Sky. The quality of football or league we’re in doesn’t bother me too much, obviously it would be nice to go to nicer stadiums and have more content. However, I go to watch Derby above all else.

Exactly that. The exhilaration of a late winner, or holding out against huge pressure for a valuable win, in the moment, feels pretty much the same to me whatever division we're in. Sure, it's good to see some of the best players in the world in the flesh and visit the best stadiums, and even better to win there, but I go to watch Derby play, not really the opposition, even if I can occasionally appreciate how another team plays or the talents of an exceptional player, that's no real compensation for being strumped 5-0 by West Ham at PP or being slaughtered by Liverpool 6-0 at Anfield by Liverpool. Losing sucks whatever league we play in.

Two ways of looking at it really.
No, I’m not enjoying us being in League One. It’s grim to be two divisions below all our rivals, unable to spend a penny whilst they’re splashing tens of millions on players. It’s a long way back and it’s depressing to think about really. A club like Derby County, with our fan base and history, shouldn’t be in this league with all these tinpoint salty clubs. But we are, thanks to our t*** of a former owner.
However, what I enjoy more than anything is watching Derby win football matches - whatever the competition or level. So in that regard, it’s nice to actually be battling at the right end of the table (so far anyway) after scrapping in a relegation fight for the last few years. After all, that’s what footballs about - that feeling when the final whistle goes and you’ve got 3 points in the bag. I’d much prefer it if we were scoring more goals to be fair - we’ve been starved in that regard for years, and it’s not started too well this season either. But if we get promoted this season, I’ll be getting just as drunk as I would if we got promoted to the Premier League, believe me!

    I'm loving league 1.
No Sky games, 3pm kick offs, no media spot light, it's just about the football on show.
I've fallen massively out love with football, have no interest in the Premier League whatsoever.
Regardless of what Sky have you believe, this is about as close to real men's football as you will get.
