In a season with very little to bring us any cheer, a quick doff of the cap to Nathan Byrne who was for the most part, incredibly consistent in a very poorly performing side. Some of his crosses were absolute filth, in the best possible way and this lad was an absolute steal if the reputed £600 to £700k fee is anywhere close to the mark.

When passing that sign, I always comment to Muckerette that I went to school with a Shirley Longford!
*I didn’t really, but I think that just makes my comment even more hilarious, no?  ?

Up the A52 ... her family name is Longford. Check out the road sign ... Shirley Longford. Always makes me laugh, along with the one for Bradley ?

Yep. Me too I really don’t have worries now except keeping sensible distance and decent hand washing. It’s interesting to read the hot spot figures. Over 90% of those who are ill in Bolton or Beds are people who haven’t been vaccinated. .. that’s huge and significant to me
Some sort of moderate capacity reduction plus keeping the doors open for ventilation and the risk levels fall enormously.

Something like this. The extra revenue from sponsors should come in handy.

I'd hate to see him go. He has an engine like Roy Keane. I don't think I have ever seen such gung ho full power at 89 minutes, then add in evident skill and tghat he can score......  If we get off the back foot one day then JK will be a monster

I must be weird but I just can’t get excited about kit. Is it vaguely black and white, is the second/away strip distinguishable and colourwise interesting/Derby related. Are the shorts main stream rather than a fashion statement and please no red. After that ... meh
sure I’d like real or local business sponsorship rather than ubiquitous betting / dodgy loan co but sometimes you just have to accept that is the world today. Consider it packaging that ends up in the bin
Black and white, play skilfully with passion

I thought I was reading about myself and our house/her car. I often say her car’s like a skip. It has black alloys...mullered,  and of course because they’re black the kerb scuffs stand out more prominently. ?

The day I passed my test I took my mums car on the country lanes and had a minor detour rather too close to a hedge. Dinged wheel trim and scuffs on paint. As it wasn’t too obvious I kept quiet. 2 weeks later Mum says ... oooh look at my car and what someone did in the super market car park yesterday ... ahem cough cough ? say nothing lad .. you’re off the hook

It’s a funny thing wives and cars. Now I am sure this will be classified as sexist but it isn’t about abilities it’s about preferences. My wife tidies up like mad, I get justified flack for socks left living around, abandoned shoes, screwdrivers and all sorts. Our house isn’t antiseptic but it is clean and ordered. We share tasks of course, but the motivation, vision and leadership in the house comes from Mrs Jono. Her car however ? ... full on wheelie bin. How many spare bags, umbrellas, insulated water bottles, charger leads, sweeties, magazines, spare raincoats, hats and that’s before we even get to general litter and detritus. I have concluded It’s a special therapeutic zone where her hidden messy self can express itself. A pair of beautiful shoes that get scuffed is a tragedy, kerbed wheels, bumper scrapes pah ! It’s only a car and that’s what bumpers are for, chill out. ?

I'll add the people who've parked an unloved rustbucket in the end spaces of car parks, like a Renault Espace on a 55 plate
They should be reserved for drivers of nice motors, who trade the longer walk for the security only one side can be dinged.

It hurts me but I think you’re right.
There was a family vid on Instagram this morning and Jordan does seem to be carrying a bit more around the middle than I would expect for a pro soccer player, Marriott I would love to see in a two. His type of play just doesn’t suit being a loan striker. Vydra always looked lost and desperate on his own but learned to drop deeper and found his way. Perhaps Marriott could do the same but I am not wildly optimistic. On Duncan there’s just been nothing which seems odd

Who knows what is in an individuals mind ? I don’t, but it would be fantastic if any or all of them got close to what their specs seem to indicate. A full on Fired up Ibe would be a game changer for our squads attacking ability and he’d drag forward Knight, Bird Shinnie to where they could way more effective.

So much talent, yet so little return. Marriott just can't be arsed to train and as such, he's not going to get the game time he needs to be match sharp. He never seems more than half fit and is constantly picking up niggles as a consequence. He's had a bunch of chances now and just doesn't seem to care about football that much and Derby County even less. It's gutting to feel this way as I was so certain he was going to be the next Bobby D, but I fear his ship has sailed. If he doesn't show up to pre-season raring to go, I'd be shipping him out to anyone who'll have him just to get some of his wages off the books.
Having been sympathetic to Jordon's issues, I saw a video recently where far from acknowledging the support of the club, or the fans for that matter, he seemed to be saying that there was no support at all, at least until that fateful Insta post that had everyone hopping about. He actually came across as pretty resentful that there'd not been more done for him at Derby, but this is a football club and I'm not entirely sure what he expects. Also seemed to resent that fact that he'd been questions raised over his frequent lateness for training. Having believed he'd be an epic signing, I'm now fast losing faith that he'll be even remotely meaningful for us. He says he's in a better place now and good to go, but I'm not feeling it to be honest. To my mind, the club, the fans and the coaching staff HAVE tried to be supportive and patient, now it's up to Jordon. If it's not to be then fine, but don't be making out that you've not been given a shot, nor that most fans have not been encouraging and patient.
As for Duncan, well he's just vanished into the footballing ether. I'm not sure he's even had an U23 start yet, let alone threatened the senior squad. When he has, it's been hard to see what all the fuss is about. Perhaps he needs a run of games, but one has to then ask, why, if he's the 'wunderkind' we were led to believe, has he not been able to secure a few more starts?  Perhaps he's not as good as the Scouse faithful and he himself thinks? The only mitigating factors I can see being there's a some decent players in front of him to dislodge for him to be starting games, but that hardly bodes well for his senior career.
All in all, three depressing signings thus far for me, with little to indicate that this will change soon, if ever. Historically I've always been super supportive where the players are concerned, but this is a season where I'd really like to see one or two more kick on. The way I see it, it's the last chance saloon for two of them. Duncan, at least, has time on his side, but if the other two fail at Derby, I can't see other clubs rushing in to take a flyer.
Sorry for the less than cheery post! ?‍♂️

It might only be a pipe dream but I feel like these three keep getting completely forgotten at the minute by Derby fans (myself included)
If we can - somehow, anyhow - get them fit and firing and somewhere back to their best, the squad will already look much much better before any transfers are even done. ?

For me there's no chance of this. Dell knows owning a Championship club is a mug's fame. That's why they're prepared to lend money to them at fantastically high interest rates and make a killing.
It would be madness to throw away all their easy profits to go and sit on the other side of the fence and start losing money instead.

    1. Yes - No worries at all.
I want the whole day out back. The visit to the pubs, the hubbub of voices (even the annoying ones talking poo), an online argument about the team selection distracting me from my pint and leading to me necking it before leaving to go to the match; the sobering (in the positive sense) walk to the ground in the fresh air (occasionally interrupted by burger van fumes) whilst scoffing a sausage roll or something; the getting annoyed at the clueless gobshites around me at the game (it's just not the same in the forum); the walk back with spirits lifted after a surprisingly decent result, even the walk back after a crap result and wanting to kick every lamppost along the way. All of it.
    2. N/A - I wouldn't be attending games regardless of the virus.
I very rarely go to away games, but if I did then the answer would be the same as question 1.

Honest Mate I really do think that was because someone else broke their promise to him. When they did Mel didn’t have the readies ready at short notice. He either had to sell something or borrow cash against his other assets .. which he did ...and the players got paid.

I think he got stuffed by some shiny suits. It was embarrassing but he faced the music and coughed up. He didn’t have money in his wallet so had to drive home and get some from the piggy bank which took a while, but there was money for Derby in the piggy bank
