jono reacted to Mr. P in Watchable telly
I was hoping someone had read the books & started watching the series. I loved the books. It's just a shame C. J. Sansom died last week just before the series started.

Has no-one realised that Blackburn stayed up today by beating Leicester - one of the results that sealed Birmingham's fate.
This current manager of Blackburn is...?

Got to love the 2,000 Norwich fans baiting the home crowd with
"Que sera sera
Whatever will be will be
You're going to Shrewsbury
Que sera sera"
🤣

Let's not forget as well that they've announced a new stadium:
If they're building a 60,000 capacity stadium they'd better hope that Stevenage and Burton bring a big away support

jono reacted to Crewton in Birmingham relegated.
They're not in Administration and they've got hugely wealthy owners. They'll survive. When they took the piss out of us, we were on the brink of oblivion and their taunts must have made some of our more vulnerable fans even lousier, so I think we're allowed a bit of schadenfreude at their expense.

Ah, poor Lee Buchanan, who tried to walk away from Derby for nothing because he was too good for League One

We also have our academy which simply has to be productive for us to be in any sense "sustainable".
Whether it's producing players for our first team or to sell for profits doesn't matter.
I'm hoping that we can see Paul Warne develop some signings and potentially turn a profit there as well.

Absolutely.
Without over egging it, I'm sure potential signings will not be looking at DCFC as a scrape around the bottom trying to avoid league 1, which you can't help but feel everyone signing for Rotherham knew they were signing up for.

I think it is more than funds though; my guess is we will have a bit of money and some latitude but I am hoping the difference that will help Warne may is that we are Derby County … not Accrington Stanley. There just must be ambitious players who want the right stage every bit as much the big pay packet ?

The big advantage you have by gaining automatic promotion - is you have a 2 week head start on recruitment. I’m sure Paul Warne is back from Vegas now and banging doors down to sign players . Warne’s record is terrible in the Championship but I have full faith in him now he has “Big Club “ funds to use .

The opportunity to put out a lot of money to buy an asset whose "dividend" is an annual bill is stretching the definition of "investment".
The only way of generating "profit" is through player development. Even earning a promotion just seems to put the bills up.

I hope this isn’t me being pedantic but Clowes is throwing millions at it and will continue to do so for some time to come if Stephen Pearce is correct. Even if you set aside the cost of buying us out of administration we are still running at a loss of expenditure over income and will more than likely continue to do so. If Pearce is right then Clowes will fund that difference.
It appears that the definition of running sustainably is broadly ‘within FFP limits and within the losses that Clowes is prepared to continue to fund’, which figure only Clowes and Pearce (probably) know but it will run into millions.

Nope , not pointed at you , in terms of speaking about one thread it just kind of clarified in my mind what I felt at the time , there were a few posters at the time ( don’t remember you being ott ) who were just as I say swamping every thread with warne out stuff plus constant new Warne out threads every ten minutes , there were many who just got worn down with the whole thing , you couldn’t even enjoy / celebrate a vital win regardless of perceived performance on a match day thread and some of it was outright bile thrown at a manager trying to do a professional job ,with a record that actually gave no one on here the right to call him a clown , pe teacher , David Brent who couldn’t attract a player or keep the players already at the club onside ,,,,, it was pretty bad and pretty non stop 🤷🏻♂️

Seems odd to be charging persons rather than the club who put out a statement....

Did I hear right that Gateshead have two players called Tinkler and Booty? 🤣

There is 23 home games, so it’s 1,132.7 pies per game
It’s shameful how some fans manipulate stats to try to get the manager sacked 😉

Yes Angie, that kind of sums it up for me too. We all make mistakes but admitting to them is something else and requires another level of integrity . I so love having a hero, it’s about ideals, inspiration and triumphs through good and bad., Keogh could have been one, but he isn’t.

Yes I've had the email.
I'm a bit disappointed it didn't include the key stat: XG for all the games I've watched. 😃

jono reacted to angieram in Your season in stats
Have you had a personalised email from the Club telling you how many minutes of football you've watched, and various other stats from home and away?
It's a brilliant touch, and a reward for those fans who put in some hard miles.
I won't spoil it for anyone, but read right through to the end!
Here's a snippet from mine. Not bad for saying I cracked an ankle bone and was in a brace for several weeks mid-season.
I'm bet @Foreveram has a better one though.
