Actually I think Wycombe are owed an appology, by the EFL for persisting with the duel fixture farce after the the DC gave us until after the season had started to restate our accounts. It's clear the EFL were desperate to relegate us and launched the duel fixtures to put pressure on the DC, but thankfully the DC had a mind of their own.

I literally tweeted them to say Derbys fans would buy their club and instantly liquidate them. I’ve had a beer so put myself on private mode, will assess whether to pursue in the morning

No players to be sold before transfer deadline has to be the best news.

The one thing I’ve never understood is why we haven’t issued counter claims that these are spurious with no other objective than to delay the administration process which could ultimately lead to substantial losses due to relegation.
A potential bill for several millions should it be found in our favour should be enough for them to consider carefully the merits of their claims.

Next owner should buy a second club where they don’t have ffp. We sell all our worst youngsters for 100 mill each. Then buy the league. How forest and Watford do it correct?

These are the sort of posts I most dislike on this Forum. I find the black humour about mental health that a lot of posters use really upsetting.

Well, we have another month of uncertainty and speculation ahead of us.
I don't mind admitting this morning's lack of news has hit me hard.
We need to try and look after ourselves - and each other - over these next few weeks.
I feel better when I am watching games. Luckily, there are plenty of Derby games during February to keep us going.
What will you do to try and keep positive?

I dunno about you, but I’m thinking being a “business ambassador” isn’t a sold gold guarantee of being a jolly good egg.

So the local MPs are meeting the EFL and administrators tomorrow.
………bit more of this please Marg!
I assure him, and through him the Football League, that if, inadvertently—because the Football League is unable to remove the obstacles that at the moment it appears to be putting so firmly in Derby County’s way—that were to happen, none of those participating in it would be forgiven.”…….Margaret Beckett 18/1/2022

Just to let you know the MPs are on the case and involved in more meetings as we speak.

£10k for a CBE. That must have been his best value deal between 2015-2021.

I can’t believe Quantuma would risk releasing the statement they did a couple of weeks ago, if Boro and Wycombe were not the stumbling block.
What would they have done if Boro and Wycombe had called their bluff and pulled their claims?
That said, it is concerning that Morris does seem to retain a degree of influence beyond confirmation he has agreed to sell the stadium for £20m. I find it quite amazing he expects even a penny after what he has done to the club but here we are.

He's hardly just a 'self declared expert' That's a label that would be more aptly applied to most of us?
https://www.liverpool.ac.uk/management/staff/kieran-maguire/
It's rather contradictory to argue that he doesn't know what he's talking when, according to other posters, he's to blame for tipping the EFL off about our non straight line amortisation policy when there accountants hadn't spotted it themselves! Can't really have it both ways can we?
We're all unhappy about the situation the club is in but blaming Maquire is nothing more than shooting the messenger. Mel Morris got us into this mess - no-one else.
His Price of Football podcast (with Kevin Day) is a good listen if you're at all interested in the business/finance side of the game. Having listened to most of them, the only 'agenda' him and Kevin Day have got is that they want to see clubs run in a financially sustainable manner and better governance across football has a whole. What's not to like? He's one of the good guys.

And that's my Nixon summary.

I think my preference is for Kirchner.
He got involved, borrowed a coat, brought his partner to a game, tweeted commiserations, talked to the manager. What more could you want from an owner?

Clearly kirchner is the one they met who is now out. Appleby in the frame and ashley and binnies not spoke to them yet my guess

The best thing about this, is even if our academy lads are deemed unlikely to get regular game time with ourselves, we clearly are a club that’s producing careers for young players.
The benefit of a joining a category 1 academy can’t be understated here, if you had a son who was aspiring for a career in professional football, these sort of moves underscore the attraction of joining Derby’s academy over others.
Clear message here, even if you don’t make it with Derby, we are now starting to see our youngsters have good professional careers blossom elsewhere. Noticed young Morgan Whittaker playing for Lincoln at the weekend as a perfect example.

I’m not sure he wouldn’t have left in the summer anyway as part of the natural leaving of players around 20-22. He was decent but I think there are a number of academy lads ahead of him, particularly in centre midfield, and he wouldn’t have been getting many minutes anyway
