I will be pished if we waste money earned from our youth development on a short term loan for a washed up oldie. Please don’t let this happen

You make that appear harsh... Childish even.
... and yet here I sit nodding in total agreement with you.
Yeah, players come and go. I get that. A straight forward transfer would have no complaints from me. It's the loan back that niggles!
To be wearing The Ram after effectively saying "I don't want to wear The Ram anymore", makes me feel a tad nauseous, if I'm honest.
I get he's a pro. I get he'll "Still try his best whilst he's still here"... A bit like a lotto winner who has to serve a month's notice before heading off into the sunset... no way are they gonna be at the top of their game, for the duration!
I'll try not to boo him, but remember, he actually ain't one of ours any more, so meh!

strawhillram reacted to S8TY in Lee Gregory (again)
Ward would only be needed if we were thinking of 352 as he’s not a RB even posh fans said he was defensively weak
Elder I agree on and has played well recently apart from his slip against Burton but that happens but he still doesn’t get in front of Fozzy so basically we were getting cover players ? So wasn’t better than what we already had
I thought we were signing players in the summer who were starters
Nyambe was a good signing but I still don’t think we needed either Ward or Elder as a sensible loan or 2 to cover LB /RB would have been sufficient or god forbid we look for players that can play a couple of positions
on the whole I’ve found PW’s signings underwhelming that’s all im saying
when Clough signed players like Brayford, Coutts Bryson, Martin etc they were an improvement on what we had and I could see why
all managers get some signings wrong but I just think in our current predicament I would’ve liked to have seen more right than wrong

I dont see the point in signing anyone else this window pretty much everything out there currently are out of our price range or not good enough. Risk it till Wag and Wash are back we could play Barkhuizen up top he used to play striker once upon a time and as for midfield time to give Robinson and Fapetu a chance .

Typical derby recruitment department from the last 10 years. In the summer go in for Marvin Johnson to be messed about in wages etc. have a look at smith and get the same. Up comes January we spend nearly the whole of January looking for a striker. Send in a loan bid the week before the deadline to none other than Sheffield Wednesday again. Agree to pay wages and then get messed around saying they want a loan fee. Instead of moving and having a really good look around we again stick the satnav on to Yorkshire again to the same club and ask for the other striker and get messed around in wages. Ohh and Rotherham where we had Washington from also hail from Yorkshire.
do we literally scout Yorkshire only or has warne give up the coffee machine for Yorkshire tea

We have not been great att transfer windows for quite some time so might as well keep what little funds we have and try with the current squad. The risk with Gregory is that he will most probably end up injured after a few minutes and we are back at square one anyway.

😂😂😂😂 this is a signing I would expect if we were mid table just getting numbers in to see the season out. Our recruitment plan is and has been woeful.

Both Smith and Gregory are cast off’s from a team who are struggling like mad at the bottom of the championship. Big decisions are needed to be made in the summer if we are going down this route re recruitment.
You can see why the club are struggling this window. The summers budget was blown on Ward, Elder and Bradley, all of which have turned out to be disasters. It also didn’t help that we went into the season with a 3-5-2 which clearly didn’t suit the group.
Who knows what the rest of the season will bring but we need a revaluation no matter what division we are in!

yeah that worked out well ..... only Nyambe, Nelson and to some extent Wilson, the rest are bench warmers and treatment table hoggers ....lets be honest his recruitment wasn't great and we still rely heavily on the players that were here before he arrived , really has stamped his mark on this team.....not!

Spot on.
Warne has drained me of all enthusiasm. I’ve been a die hard fan for too many years to mention, but not feeling the excitement with Warne and his methods
