? Really not accusing RamsTrust of anything, or wanting you to say any more. You know how these threads twist and turn.
This one started, why we needed another one God only knows, with RoyMac suggesting we might be being ‘threatened’ again by the EFL, PistoldPete coming straight in with what a bunch of Bamfords the EFL are again, and even when it is explained that it is a standard bit of EFL procedure, posters (well really the aforementioned two) still think the EFL are too blame for not communicating fully.
All I think I am saying is that all this anti-EFL rhetoric is getting a bit tedious. Our Owner put us into Administration.  Our status as a football club was put at risk. The EFL as per their Articles put us on notice that we were at risk of having our golden share withdrawn. That has now been suspended (that’s good news!!!! Roy and Pete), because our Administrators have supplied information to the EFL that eases their concerns regarding our ability to continue trading/fulfill fixtures, etc., etc. Hopefully in due course the suspension will be removed too, once we have  new owners and a viable business plan has been established (and Creditors of course have been satisfied).
l don’t think it credible for the EFL to keep giving open letter updates to fans, which seems to be being demanded on this thread. They are making themselves available to the Administrators and RamsTrust, and I think it more for those organisations to communicate to the supporters as to what is happening. In that regard, I think RamsTrust representatives who are meeting with the EFL should be properly prepared and be fully aware of what the Regs and Articles say in relation to insolvency situations.
Pity you won’t be at the Cottage tonight. I would have given you a big squeeze x

Anyone else finding it really frustrating that MM started this fight with the EFL, runs away from it, puts us into admin then we have the book thrown at us and the EFL can carry on with their bullying ways and we’re left to look like the bad guys hated by everyone.
He had two options for me keep fighting what he started whatever the cost, if the EFL are in the wrong let everybody see it.
Or option two should’ve held his hands up, he’s not as smart as he thought he was, take the 9 point deduction and sell the club for whatever he could.
Instead he’s royally shafted us it’s unforgivable, no matter how much he put in, his ego has ruined our club.

Couldn't disagree more. Mel's utter mismanagement and abandonment of the club have left us in this place, it's not just the EFL's actions. You may think FFP is ridiculous but they are the rules and they have been known about for a long time. Up until last year as shown by the al Jazeera doc he was still asking for 50 million for the club without the stadium and 100 million with it. This is hardly the actions of a man who was desperate to sell but rather someone who wanted to get his money back. He's screwed the club, screwed the fans, screwed the staff and he's walked away with some people still kissing his backside.

Have we got a new scapegoat for our plight??? It’s all the EFL’s fault, it’s all Gibsons fault. It appears it may soon be Ed Dawes fault. At what stage does the penny drop that we are reaping what we have sown. I for one actually feel relief at today’s announcement. We are now free for a new owner to come in with a bid, knowing we will be a league 1 club with all our skeletons out of the closet. One step back now but 2 steps forward over the coming years I believe. And just to let the young uns know. The last time we were in division 3 was great. We stormed it with a massive support home and away. It’s not all doom and gloom

There must be some empathy from other clubs with the situation Derby are in, the history of our club and how helpless we are with our situation. If there were five or six loans of top players they could help the club, those not getting a first-team chance, some players that fancy making history, then why not? Wayne has such respect in the game, maybe he could beg PL teams to loan players to us, with the likelihood we need to win every game next year to stay up. What about Newcastle letting us borrow Dwight Gayle, West Ham's Andriy Yarmolenko, Leicester's Marc Albrighton, United's Juan Mata and Matic etc. assemble a team that could win every game and the eyes of the football world would be on them.

Over the last 4 years in total they are running at a profit I think,  showing the sort of prudence that can cope with a downturn in revenue due to a crisis like covid. Like many Premier league clubs they have the capitalisation and reserves to cope.
The structure of English football means that some cubs decide to gamble capital and reserves, like all gambles sometimes you win sometimes you don't.
My fundamental problem with the EFL is that there rather pathetic rules and governance do nothing to control the gambles until AFTER the event with punishments that do not help but simply make the job of recovery harder.

It’s a club who don’t own their stadium or training ground. Have over 50 million worth of debt. 9 senior players. A threadbare league 1 stands red squad. Mel wants someone to buy a house at full price when it’s needs at least 2x more money spent on doing it up

You know I've been on this forum for donkeys, and it never changes, same protagonists (mainly, some new ones ) same sack this, same change that, it's all boll@cks, whatever we say will have no impact, except on each other. Mel is the only one able to change thing's, and to my knowledge he doesn't read this. WR doesn't either, so nowt's gonna change cos we say so, and all this in fighting *yawn*
This is to me was a fun place, where we used to discuss stuff positively years ago, but now, like the rest of social media it's just getting toxic, and I'm more and more inclined to not post lest I get savaged. So hey ho, I've posted, and it will be taken up, don't expect a response, unless its worthy.
We as a club have been in a mess since MM decided to sell, having invested/gambled a fortune (one would like to think the benefit of the club, and himself.) it failed, and now like a failed gambler he is clutching at straws. It's a sad spectacle, but one we are only able to observe and not influence. Wayne, he's highly paid in this division,  and would be unlikely to earn that elsewhere (as what?) So why would he walk ?
With the EFL seemingly intent on our demise, we are collectively buggered. Enjoy the ride (this season) it's going to be interesting/painful,  and because it's likely to be painful, please stop bitching at each other for the sake of being (technically) on the same side. Let's try to play nicely.
Motto for this season 'Dont feed Trolls, it serves no good' .

Hmmmm. Well having been involved in employment and sports law for the last 30 years you are spot on.... but.
Sports contracts (football rugby cricket etc) all cater for long term injuries. If they did not then every time a player got injured they could be sacked or have pay cut. Indeed Keogh I am sure hopes to play again. (Think about it... George Thorne would never have been paid).
In any event Keogh has been sacked for gross misconduct not incapacity. The presumption is then that he carried out an act of gross misconduct in line with his contract. Also that it must have been more / worse that the other two muppets who were driving.
In terms of gross misconduct the scope in a sportsmans contract is pretty wide in that they are allowed to get away with a fair bit more than the average employee due to their asset value ( unfair but there you go).
The list tends to be along the lines but not limited to....
    Criminal act leading to prison
Alcohol or drug abuse but amazingly sometimes alcohol is on the misconduct rather than gross misconduct category.
Bringing the club into serious disrepute - being captain gives him higher responsibility.
So I guess he could have ticked two of those boxes .... so the offer of a contract change... which he refused... so yes he deserved to go.
Phew long way around saying we agree (kind of).

Seems reasonable and normal management by the club. At the end of the day they are a business and an employer.
I am sure he will be claiming loss of earnings from the idiot who was drivings insurance. No reason the club should keep paying unless it happened as a sporting injury. Bit of a non story really unless you are the insurance company.
Will also enable him to engage in other club activity which I am sure will help his state of mind.
