Although you refer to genocide and slavery, I do not think that the reason for avoiding racism is as a way to say sorry for slavery. We avoid racism because it is wrong.
So, if you think it is wrong to label someone by their ethnic and facial features if their ancestors have suffered some horrific historical wrong, then it is also wrong to refer to anyone else's facial features.
At worst, you sound racist - at best, that you did not realise that ginger hair is linked to ethnicity - but I doubt that you intended to cause anyone any offence.
PS. Many of us might say, "Ginger" this or that when we're emotional. But if someone points out that it sounds racist, then it might be better to just apologise than double down with sarcasm.

@ossieramwhy the angry face? I consider people attacking other people because of the colour of their hair in the same as as the colour of their skin - completely unacceptable!!

I think I must be the only person besides the referee himself who believes that a yellow for both was the right decision.

Think that is stretching it a bit. Apart from the Ravel chance we created nothing in the second half. So many just seemed off the pace and we gave the ball away far too often…

Immediate thoughts, admittedly after only seeing the second half due to other commitments.
Forest deserved the win we were poor. Referee didn’t half help them though. 
Got to question Buchanan starting after so long. Guess he wanted more pace against Johnson (who was excellent) but still got skinned everytime. And gave the ball away so many times. As did the rest of the team really, we gave it away soooo much.
Morrison ?‍♂️ Touch and pass deserted him when he came on. Can see why it was a red but bit harsh. All came from another poor touch though.
Ball was in play for around a minute of the 6 minutes of injury time. All teams time waste but Forest really took the P and the ref let them get away with it. 
And not beaten them for 5 years ?
On to the next game, plenty of points to play for.

They had the chance when we were messing about at the back and Davis had 1:1. If Captain Tom had of put us 1 up it might have been a different game ?

Look tired, sloppy. Don’t really deserve anything today. Bird and Knight well off the pace. Morrison just not good enough. Disappointing ?
