In over 50 years of watching the Rams, I've been lucky enough to see many 'legends' play for us and many a discussion is to be had on who is the greatest of all.
However, there is only one undisputed legend amongst us all on dcfcfans.uk and that's B4.
Although I never met B4, I couldn't help but admire his undying faith in our club, especially over the recent difficult years.
My thoughts are with those who knew and loved him. RIP Daniel.

This made me cry. Such a beautiful soul and to echo what everyone else has said already, heโ€™ll be sadly missed.
I never met him but I did see him from a distance in town once and I text my mates saying โ€œyouโ€™ll never guess who Iโ€™ve seenโ€ - makes me laugh now that Iโ€™m reflecting upon it, he was like a celebrity!
So passionate, so blindly hopeful and also I like to remember he was very inspirational when it comes to things like his battle to overcome dyslexia.
absolute legend, I donโ€™t even know why Iโ€™m surprised at how very sad this has made me. I never met you, but I feel a deep sense of loss so you obviously had an impact

Over 9 years ago I took my lad to his first away game. Charlton, midweek in the 6 weeks holidays.ย
    ย
A game Iโ€™ll never forget. He was only 5 at the time. I could see that as soon as we walked into the ground, he might struggle with just how loud it was. We got to our seat and the game just about to kick off and everybody standing. He was only 4 foot tall so I told him to stand on his seat. He still couldnโ€™t see properly but at least it was better. The next minute, a friendly face appeared offering us both a sweet, unbeknown to me at the time it was B4 - my lad then fell down the back of his seat hurting both his legs. B4 was straight there making sure he was OK and for the next 90 minutes made regular check ins with him to see if he was OK and reassuring him not all games are like that.ย

At HT we spoke at length and swapped user IDโ€™s on dcfcfans. The next day I received the below message direct from Daniel. It epitomises everything about the guy and from that moment, heโ€™s always held a special place in my heart and always will do. Not many like him but Iโ€™m so glad our paths crossed that night.ย
    ย
RIP buddy, DCFC wonโ€™t be the same place without you. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™

I am truly heartbroken by this terrible news.
B4's positivity helped me through some difficult times.
He helped us all when the club faced its own difficulties. Never once did he lose faith in the Rams.
I've been missing his posts recently and now there will be no more. This is a very sad day.
RIP B4, Ram legend and a great ladย ๐Ÿ

Just got back from the game and a great day to read this heartbreaking sad news ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ,
Forget the scoreline , was going to post in match thread that this was the best performance of the season by a mile in terms of organised , compact , work rate ,spirit and playing as a unit
now I donโ€™t give a stuff how stupid this makes me sound but so many times b4 posted he wished he could do the team talk ,,, well to my mind somehow in ways we donโ€™t understand or believe in , he did todays team talk .
R I P b4 son , ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ and deepest sympathy to your family and friends who have lost someone very special ๐Ÿฅฒ

I was sat with him before the match on Sunday and he was telling me how ill he had been recently but when I received the news last night it was a total shock.
Daniel was always a positive cheerleader at away games, the very definition of a supporter that was always there through the good times and more importantly the bad, encouraging the team.
Angie introduced me to him as a fellow forum member a few years ago and Iโ€™m glad she did, it was good to get to know him as part of the football family, he will be greatly missed.
My condolences to his family especially his dad who was always there for him.
Rest in peace dear friend. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ข

Just come on to catch up on the afternoon's "Great day at the office", and was immediately hit with this thunderbolt!
    Utterly gutted!ย ย ๐Ÿ˜ข
Yes, he's wound me up in the past, on occasion.ย  Sometimes I've had a nibble at him.ย  Sometimes I've bit my tongue and said nowt.
But oh so much more than that, his total and utter positivity was never disregarded, and his loyalty to, and passion for, DCFC was never... ever... doubted.
I'm not ashamed to say, He's been... and will remain for eternity... more of a Ram than I'll ever be.ย ย ๐Ÿ
    ย
Such devastating news does indeed put everything into perspective.ย
Today's game comes a distant second behind this... even to the point that I'm really not in the mood any more, for a catch up on the matchday thread... but do you know what... today was precisely the sort of performance and result that would have delighted him... and just what he would normally have predicted with his blind, unwavering faith.ย  Despite my mood, I'm gonna read the lot... and read every single word in his memory... with a raised glass in hand!ย ๐Ÿป
I hope you were watching from above, B4, (Of course you were... silly me!) and I hope it put a massive grin on your face... and a spring in your step, now you are finally free at last, from your physical pains.
Feel free to bellow through the clouds "I told you so"!ย  ย ๐Ÿ˜
I'm sure many of us will mark your gut-wrenching passing in any number of ways in the coming matches... be that privately and/or publicly, and it is no less than you deserve.
I won't hesitate to twirl myย scraver in your honour at future games, and my DCFC flange will forever be at half mast.ย ย
Sleep well, dear Buddy.ย  Up The Rams.ย  See you at the promotion party.

Two games spring to mind, both already mentioned.ย
First, the 4-2 victory over Newcastle in 1976, 4 excellent goals and a feeling of invincibility, the double was well and truly on.
Second, that Wednesday 3-3 draw live on a Monday night tv, I was buzzing that much that when I got home at about 11pm, I had to watch the full recording in normal time, to live through it again. So unusual to feel that way after a game that we didn't win.

Looks like you're trying take offence on behalf of the players without even knowing what's going on in there head.
Without knowing Bird or McGoldrick personally, you are making some wild assumptions and connecting dots to suit this narrative where Paul Warne is this useless turnip that couldn't manage a piss up in a brewery.
The Bird one is ridiculous, The McGoldrick one.....well he scored an awful lot of goals for someone that didn't like the manager.
Yeah he left for Notts County, the club where he started his career at and spoke about wanting to finish his career there.
Using him as a stick to beat Warne with, you're basically calling him a liar for his motivations in moving to Notts County.
Which makes you no better than Warne and this accusation of fake injuries.
The last line in your post is spot on though.
"The best managers know how to use the microphone to motivate their men"
    Absolutely.
Every player is different, some need criticism to start that fire in their belly, others need a cuddle and words of affirmation.
I couldn't sit here and tell you what any of the players need, 1) I have never managed a team of footballers and 2) I don't know any of the players personally.
I would imagine that would apply to most on here as well.
It's ok to not like Warne's football, his tactics, the way he talks, the way he walks and the bobble hats, but come on, all this is scraping the barrel of hate for a guy based on....well nothing really.
