Was just a rumour on planet F1 so the usual helping of salt with that, but Fernando last shot at a third title Vs max plus dad plus Marko has the makings of a fun story.
But on the other hand, if red bull are serious about having the best possible drivers and Alonso is open, it's a realistic option. I still think they'll hire Carlos though (unless his Sauberaudi deal is already in place)

They seem to be coming to the conclusion that the promotion bonus situation for a squad they kept adding loans to has really struck the match on this situation. Mentioned this a while ago that the bonuses were 500k a player back in 2007, so this would have immediately cost 20-25 million at least now based on the amount of players used and on loan to others who still get it. No attention paid as this was just small fry when spending nearly all your entire budget for the previous 60 years in one season.
Do you think they'll notice their good friend from Bristol is demanding the Premier League give them another -4 points and is rabidly hoping for their relegation.
Mr poposmellydullard is a ram, he hates forest.....

Rumour that red bull want Fernando Alonso next season.
Now, that I can get behind as a move. There might be drama and there might be friction, but dealing with Fred on the other side is going to be a whole different kettle of fish to Checo (or Gasly or Albon or Danny flounce out or Carlos Sainz) - I can imagine the combustion of Jos Verstappen already.

I think it's going to end with the Arab nations invading Israel and Israel, in desperation, using it's nuclear weapons causing a vast escalation leaving the world enshrined in nuclear winter for 100 years with only mutant deformed cockroaches left living, chirping to each other that the only reason they got docked 4 points was because the league is biased against them.

A lots of Alonso fan boys blaming Russell for the crash - oblivious to the fact that the stewards have access to all of Alonso’s telemetry data and can see he had braked earlier and was way slower through the corner than he had been during the rest of the race - even Brundle queried why he was so slow after one viewing of the replay - guess Fernando doesn’t want the Merc seat next season after all….
Much as we all love Fernando, he's never been above the occasional ruthless move or the odd dirty trick. The result might steer it towards the penalty was harsher because of the crash rather than the level of dastardly the act was, but stewarding has ever been thus, if Russell hadn't crashed it'd have been 5 seconds. But Russell did crash and I don't see much argument TBH.

I'm usually a bit skeptical of "next big things" but Acosta is genuinly exciting based on the first two weekends in MotoGP.
It's so good to Marc Marquez back on a bike that's competetive and not just trying to kill him every week, the one today was just a racining incident - I'm not going to put him as a dark horse for the title just yet, but I think he'll be a factor in taking wins away in the fight.
Apparentaly it was a gearbox problem that did in Vinales at the end.
Even if you're not a MotoGP fan, it's worth the 5 minutes if you're this far into the motorsports thread 🙂

No spoilers, but do watch the F1 highlights this time.

Another bad day for anyone not named Verstappen, although particually bad for Danny washardo (track limits deletion). Norris getting ahead of Leclerc is probably the standout alongside Sainz continuing his job search in impressive fasion. Another bad day for "working his notice period" Hamilton. Another impressive day for Yuki Tsunoda, although i expect the RB to fall back in the race. After being given his team mates car, Alex Albon at least didn't write it off into a wall.

Further argues the point that if you want to strip Man City of their titles after 2018 (when the charges go up to), then you will have to strip Leicester of their fairytale PL title too.
Oh go on then, lets do that. I'm sure fester fans would be adderment they wouldn't want to have won it by cheating with their finances.

Weird innit? RBR have always been vile, but they did seem to be so in a pretty linear fashion, all pulling in the same direction. These days, they're a complete basket-case, but barring an act of god, they'll still win every race.
Likewise, I think we're seeing a glimpse of a future Saudi-owned sporting world; ethics trampled, zero oversight, shady AF and utterly sterile, much like the Joshua fight, which might as well have been fought in a library for all the atmosphere at the Jeddah venue.
Add to that the fact that having looked to have made some real progress, Merc's W15 now looks completely homicidal, as per earlier iterations and Hammy is already on the beach. There must be more to this than meets the eye, so I'm wondering now what it was that pissed Hamilton off so badly that he'd effectively down tools the way he has. Lovely to see Leclerc running fast though, but I think the broken floor probably exaggerated the gap back to Max and as we all know, Ferrari prefer to 'Ferrari' during the race itself.
On a more positive note, at least the Ozzy GP is a proper one, with a proper crowd. They love their motorsport down under and it makes for a far more interesting weekend than those in empty stadia in reclaimed desert lands. Not sure I'll be watching live though, unless I'm still up!
5am qualifying and 4am race...I think I'll live with highlights this year.
The red bull power struggle was always going to be on the cards after dieter passed away. My favourite latest hit was that the "max can leave if helmet leaves" contract clause wasn't in the original contract but was added by Max/Jos/Marko late last year, without telling Horny Horner (helmet could sign it off as he's a director) - that's an interesting little underhanded move....

"Unfortunatly, Mr hat had to go for a minor, well I say minor, bobbledectamy proceedure and so I was without his vital advice during a game that I thought we were right in until they scored their first. I think we'll have to review the video, as we always do, but I think a ray of sunshine reflected of my hatless head and momenterially blinded 3 of our defenders. Yeah, Blackett Taylor will be out until January now."
