I think this ties in with the previous theory that other parties were waiting on our fate, league wise, before making a move. Rightfully or wrongfully, Mel may have sided with offers which would've given him x amount of £ without the guarantee of us being a Championship side.
I'm glad we seem to finally be pushing Alonso aside, my opinion is he'd have been an absolute embarrassment and utter disaster. Let him go find another toy to lust over through a shop window. I don't think there's a single thing about this football club I like at the moment. The players, the coaches, the management, the current ownership, the potential future ownership... all of it is a bitter disappointment.
