Whilst RamsTV was on air and everyone was out on the pitch and in the stands celebrating, he was in the office with work to do, contacting Owen Bradley to ask him if he wants an interview.
The bloke is pure class, it’s not about him, it’s about the team from top to bottom and he feels genuine with it.
Just a real shame his brand of football has caused a rift between fans all season, this could potentially be the last promotion many fans will witness.

Right at this very second, I couldn’t give a flying f*** whether people like Paul Warne as a man or a manager, I don’t care whether you think his brand of football leave you cold, or you think he concentrates too much on the opposition, or that he’s too jokey in his interviews.  All I care about is that today, him & his staff helped provide me & my lad with memories we will never forget, that were able to share as father & son, that I will happily take to my grave.

    Thank you Paul.  Thank you

Maybe I'm soft but I just can't help liking the man. Whilst it might sound like nonsence and hyperbole in interviews he has been very honest.
He talks building a group of players, he talks about making small gains, and he has done those things.
The football hasn't always been great, but you can see why he's a league one promotion specialist. He's managed 92 points and automatic with a squad of freebies, gambles and inherited players.
What he's never had at Rotherham is any financial backing, you can guarantee they would lose their best couple of players after each season which is the main cause of their yoyoing. That won't be the case here (or if it is it won't be a case of losing them because they can't afford to improve their contract or £500k is too much to turn down).
I think afforded a bit of time, and next season will not be easy, he will continue building successfully to the extent I would expect us to be back around the play offs in maybe 3 years.
A spine is being formed, let's imagine an equivalent midfield pairing to Nelson and Cash, an attacking midfielder in front of them with more knowledge of the position, movement and goals, and a striker in the mould of Collins but with more technical attributes and pace.
Around that you have a number of gifted attacking players - NML free to be NML, hopefully a fit and firing CBT on the other side, varied attacking options and the football you play changes because of the increased options of passes and openings, and easy shifts from 352 to 442 to 433 because we have the required players.
In the meantime set piece goals and ugly wins will do, but I do believe there will be evolution as we progress. Really looking forward to summer and some good deals to be had.

Good luck for this afternoon, I hope you get it over the line for a number of reasons, and the odds are in your favour.
I hope you don't mind an outsider saying this, and I'm sure you all know this, but regardless of any euphoria or disappointment tomorrow, you'll all still be proud supporters - as b4 was, and is. As someone who read on here for a while before I registered/posted and saw lots of his comments when you were in a bad place;  I stand by the fact that whoever we support, we could all do well by being a bit more like him, when it comes to our clubs.

Today was bitter-sweet in many ways, as I kept thinking of Daniel's pure, unadulterated joy on being part of this promotion day.
Wonderful that the Club acknowledged his contribution,  and B4 will always be part of our heritage now.

I'm not sure they did? 🤷‍♂️
Wasn't it more along the lines of "Please do not go on the pitch before the final whistle".

That's entirely different to your quote, and covers their arses when it comes to thousands breaking the law on their property!

Yes, it was inevitable.  No, there was nothing more the club could have done to avoid the invasion.  But that still does not make it right or acceptable.
... and as for the atmosphere once they were on the pitch... Embarrassingly non-existent, imo.
If we'd have partied like that back in the '80's, it would have been called a wake!  👀

Children sliding around on the hallowed turf, and grown-ups wandering aimlessly wondering "What happens now".  No "scenes".  Very little jumping around singing and cheering. No passion.  No emotion.  I repeat... embarrassing.
To be fair, having a good overview of the proceedings from my seat, I suspect the majority were puffed out after all that exercise!  Looked like most of them had never been near a sports pitch before!
It was fully expected of course (as a lot of anti-social/selfish behaviour is nowadays!), so it certainly didn't spoil my afternoon, but I still maintain a lap of honour by the players, management, and Mr Clowes... along with their nearest and dearest... would have been much more preferable... especially in front of 25k+ still in the stands.
But much of the stands were nigh on empty within 5 minutes of the final whistle.  When the (majority of the ) pitch invaders eventually left the pitch, they weren't miraculously full again, which would imply most had given up, and headed home.
Check out the numbers still there once the trophy was brought out.  It was like the raffle results at a village fete!

Interestingly, though that under mac 2 , clement and cocu we had a team that could pass a ball but not scrap and do the ugly side of the game and quarters moaned about that.

we all want the uropia of a side that plays nice or attacking football and can still do the ugly stuff.
maybe finally with a window thats unrestricted and un embargoed we will be able to hit a sweeter note

Deserves a lot a credit as well for juggling all the injuries.

Well done, Warney! where before we crumbled post-xmas, we've finished stronger than ever and honestly, this is nothing less than your hard work warranted. Huge close season now, with a major overhaul to come, but those are some lovely problems to have. Hopefully, DC can attract a bit of additional cash to fund the war chest. I'm sure he'll be doing his level best.
A massive 'thank you' to you and all the coaching staff from yours truly!

Sadly this will be my last match today. My first was in 1956 as a 13year old, My dad used to take me before that but he stopped going when we went down to the third division north. My mate and I would catch the 12 oclock bus from Melbourne and be the first in the ground. We stood in the Normanton end pigeon loft, I think it was 3 shilling. To this day I remember that team. We were champions in 1957 and I ran onto the pitch after the last match against Southport, Ray Straw scored 37 goals that season, The next ten years saw me start work, get married and have two children, I had moved to Derby, and after my family, the Rams were the most important thing in my life I never missed a home game in those ten years even though we were only an average second division side. And then in 1966 after England won the world cup my mate and I decided to have a season ticket, Little did we know what would happen that season, I was at work one day and a Rams supporting work mate told me we had signed a player from Bradford Park Avenue, his name was Kevin Hector I'd never heard of him but he was without doubt the most wonderful footballer to grace the Baseball Ground I had ever seen, and because of this we wanted to see more players like him which led to Tim Ward getting the sack and BC becoming Manager, what followed was ten years of unbelievable success and enjoyment. And then things started to go wrong off and on the pitch and I stopped being a season ticket holder during Peter Taylors time as manager, i still loved The Rams of course and when I turned 65 and retired my old mate from Melbourne and I bought season tickets again. But sadly covid left my best friend of 80 years with a dementia problem and he know no longer knows me. For the last two seasons I have been going alone to the match but its just not the same for me. Therefore I am calling it a day, as I write this I am welling up as I will do this afternoon. Thank you Derby County for every thing I will love you till I die.

I'm in the same position, it's so bloody annoying, making an update that makes the product worse is nonsensical.
I've looked at some of the other options and none of them seem to have the scorers on the main page, without clicking on each individual match, which you can already do on the BBC Sport app.
