MackworthRamIsGod reacted to Oldben in January Reinforcements
Ché Adams, Aaron Connolly, Kelechi Iheanacho, Kayden Jackson and Tyrese Campbell are all free agents in the summer.
Which ones would you choose to replace our old strike force in the summer, who are also free agents and the list includes Connor Washington and martyn waghorn.
I'm assuming here we somehow make the championship next season, and also assume that the older players who seem to be injury prone are probably a waste of our wage budget in the Championship.
We will have 10+ free agents in the summer, but I thought its worth looking at younger strikers first.

MackworthRamIsGod got a reaction from hintonsboots in Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
As long as you don't rub your genitals up his car, what's the ish?

Is it just a coincidence he has the same hair as Steve Gibson? He looks like his brother

News just in, Gayle did his ACL while signing the contract.

I've actually heard that one is a deal clincher. Rubbing is all good but Port Vale have caused damage to his car by tea bagging his wing mirrors.

I wonder how Bird will feel if the ultimate happens and T'Rams get promoted? He'd then be in the same division but find himself having to move house to join a smaller club.

He's still not signed?

MackworthRamIsGod got a reaction from norwichram in James Collins
If it turns out Collins is fit then it could turn out to be just the tonic for fans to fall in love with him.
He has quietly proved doubters wrong this season, but any remaining doubters will have looked at the goals he has scored this year, looked at the lack of number 9s we have and all of a sudden be praying he is fit to keep our season alive.
If he is fit I hope he gets a huge roar when his name is read out.

MackworthRamIsGod reacted to Thameram in Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
Interesting that all the paperwork was done before the deadline friday so he could play against stevenage but efl held it up
but they let reading sign player after player and do not pay them on time
i've got a feeling they might block this don't know why but it seems a bit weird not to ratify a free agent who needs a living wage a job

MackworthRamIsGod got a reaction from Ken Tram in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
Interesting.
If teams were to carry on with current form, highly unlikely I know...the top 6 would look like this come the end.
1. Derby
2. Bolton
3. Portsmouth
4. Barnsley
5. Peterbrough
6. Orient the suprise

MackworthRamIsGod got a reaction from Abu Derby in Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
I'm confused. I thought we were free to operate without restrictions?
Also, if we can't sign Gayle how ok earth would we have been able to sign Michael Smith?

MackworthRamIsGod reacted to Curtains in Should we just stick with the squad we have now
Well I’d say Adams has been a good addition to the squad even if we will lose Bird at the end of the season due to him wanting a different challenge next season . That one really hurts as I think he’s a great lad and a fabulous footballer.
Very upset for James Collins and the Derby fans that he’s out for a while but all the best to him with his recovery.
As regards the original point of the question I would say on reflection Warne was right to add to midfield but it could be difficult without James but we won yesterday so let’s hope we can get promoted with what we have and hopefully Dwight Gayle .
End of the day let’s all as Derby fans stick together and hope we do it.
PS Never write players off as Sonny Bradley was brilliant yesterday

Small club mentality for you.

Classic Paul Warne display this.
5 at the back, at home, against Stevenage, some players look like they've never played a back 5 before.
A bench full of midfielders 😆

At least it's been educational.
Who else knew it took paint 45 minutes to dry....?

It would be funny if it wasn’t true. All the excitement and momentum from Tuesday lost by playing a stupid and new formation in my view.

Surely we need to bring Sibley as an attacking midfielder?

I'm so unbelievably frustrated with the situation (shock horror) DCFC signing old men up front with dodgy injury records = no fit strikers. Warne won't name a striker from the academy in the squad. Reality is this club will not be sustainable long-term without using the academy and selling some of them on at a profit because we are turd at scouting for other players with potential. Warne is very bad for this club long-term even if he gets them up in the short-term. The other thing is signing Wash is as bad as the dodgy PPE contracts from the government in my book, the man is not fit for purpose and stealing a living from his mate Warne.

BBC reporter just said "it's Derby 0 stevenage 0 and it's not as exciting as that sounds".....
