My finger firmly crossed right and hope will have rich owner or owners with deep deep pockets.
Ashley isn't shy of a few quid.
Don't listen to what Newcastle fans say. They spent some good money on players over the years. 40 million on Joelinton, 20 plus million on Callum Wilson, they go on like Mike Ashley bled them dry but their transfer spends over the years suggest otherwise.

I have a feeling the club debts are a bridge too far hence there being no formal bids.
Liquidation has been haunting us since that Ghoul Collymore tweeted we was going the same way as Bury. Expect the can to be firmly kicked down the road whilst all lines of credit are used up.
There could be another more positive possibility.
The interested parties have clearly placed their bids already, the admins have written to the interested parties to ask them to up their offers, should they wish. The interested parties, Ashley included, think their offers are more than fair and it's a kind of, take it or leave it.
If the admins are confident of naming a PB by the weekend, they are either stupid, lying, or are aware they do have something to work with already.

Well Ashley has the cash surely I think bids have to come soon.
About 10 hours remaining.

What's everyone's guess for why the EFL will block the naming of the preferred bidder this time?
I'm going for "we aren't entirely satisfied with the desired exit strategy chosen by the administrators and prospective preferred bidder, a meeting will be arranged where we will look to do all we can to assist with helping Derby successfuly exit administration"
Words to that effect anyway.
The admins response will be :

FWIW, I don’t think ‘Barry the ram’ should be cast off quite as quickly as others think. As we’ve seen with Nixon and even Percy, so much happens behind closed doors that no one gets it 100% right and it’s partly why the Nicholson approach of not saying anything until it’s fact is probably better.
But, for this meeting to happen today then the Wycombe meeting must have concluded very quickly and probably wasn’t worth the carbon footprint of travelling over. So it could have happened, but on balance how likely is it?
I think he means there is a meeting booked for next Tuesday with announcement the Wednesday (23rd ish).
I find Barry's tweets funny, especially after him saying Allardyce was gonna be named manager, however...
He was bang on about the original EFL findings and has been correct about things more recently. Whilst we were all celebrating when the points deduction was given assuming a preffered bidder would follow, he tweeted that was just the beginning and we will be lucky if there is a club to support. People piled on him for being negative, turned out he was right.
And the allrdyce thing, even the bookies had us getting a big manager in, it was only because the BZI backers pulled out that it didn't happen.

Why don't we have 2 stars anyway for our 2 league titles? Forest seem to always go on about their 2 stars as though it top trumps us somehow, we won the trophy that all clubs dream of, not once, but TWICE.
Is it because we don't suffer from an inferiority complex and need to be reminded that we used to be good once, a bit like the red dogs?

With Bielik back I'd stick with Thompson on the bench, bring him on after 60mins when we're two, three or four nill up.
This is my thought also.
He is a great player to bring on when Bielik is tired and needs a rest.
Thompson will eventually grow to become a Mr Dependable like Shinnie, he has that Shinnie/Bannan/Bryson type engine about him.

Seems to me that there is more to the Shinnie transfer than 30k alone. Maybe an automatic contract renewal at the same rate. In which case it does make financial sense if not football sense
I'd heard he was about to trigger playing bonuses owed to him, not sure how true that is.

If its true Middlesbrough fall foul of P&S rules this season, if we then get relegated by a couple of points, could we claim against them for daring to beat us when they had overspent?

Talking about chairman dying is pretty harsh, although the personal thoughts I've had about Gibson these last few months would probably have me sectioned ?
I do however fully condone the Steve Gibson banks off dogs posters ?
-
In a bizarre turn, which wouldn't suprise me, it would be so fitting if Mel and Gibson decided to team up and take on and bring down the EFL.

What a coincidence this happens today.
Hopefully will limit any trouble tomorrow.
We were just speculating at the gym that a joint statement would be released come 5pm to quell everyone's hate.
Even I'm suprised at how early in the day it has come.

Anyone just hear Simon "Big words" Jordon on talks sport? Said that Dell might be the ones paying the administrators but funding them might still be Mel?
Went over my simple head a bit but what I got from it was Mel might want some involvement in the club he doubts he would ever be allowed by the EFL to be a majority shareholder but he might still be holding it up?
Only sharing this as not read anything like that on this thread regarding Mel still wanting/having some say on what happens to us, could explain why the administrators are taking so long with everything
Apart from me of course ?

The same Mel who spent almost two years trying to get rid of us. He doesn’t want that and the EFL won’t allow it. The more this goes on the more I’m convinced Mike Ashley will takeover.
There were rumours Mel could have had a windfall when the owners of candy crush (well the company) recently sold for billions.

I just want a preferencial bidder to be announced so we can start to plan for next season and sign up our players up on new contracts.
Mike Ashley would be the absolute dream.
If we stop up he would back a promotion push next season.

I have a feeling we did and then Rooney found out we can't sign anyone by the EFL and 1 by 1, his players are signing elsewhere, Oumar Niasse at Burton and Wilshire in Denmark and Wisdom at Birmingham.
That's my guess.
