  1. How refreshing to a have a manager like Rooney dealing with transfer speculation like he is.

Like with Tom Lawrence, we all know if we got a good offer he would be gone, but Rooney makes it as difficult as possible for the Derby board to sell by stating he won't be leaving for any amount of money.

Looking at Morrison’s Instagram I reckon something big has happened. Rooney gone ?

I really hope he does, he will have the balls to come out and tell us exactly what is going on at the club.

I'm sick of Mel hiding behind NDAs and legal teams, Rooney won't care about that.

Stevie Mac 1, Pearson, Clement, Stevie Mac 2, Rowett, Cocu and soon to be Rooney.

  3. We wont sign anyone.

If Mel has the balls to sit in a meeting and tell the attendees with a straight face that he is disappointed that managers chose to ask for new signings rather than play more kids, I honestly dont think he will mind the flack he will get from not signing anyone.

When he said he will join in with any Mel Out chants, to me says a bit of him actually enjoys it.

Might be the most entertaining press conference ever. Rooney flips the table and storms out over no signings.

    And who could blame him.

In a show of absolute solidarity everyone in football refuses to replace Wayne and Mel finally realises his dream of becoming the manager of Derby.

I'm assuming they can't build in a clause into the contract that defers any wages over the limit until the embargo restrictions are lifted.

Seeing as Fulham can sign a 12 million pound player but defer the payments to help them get around FFP at the same time as receiving parachute payments and not even hide it, I'd say we can do what the hell we want.

    Right?

    Hi all.

I'm new to the forum here. Been a Derby fan since 98 but had a 4 year sabbatical from football following due to general malaise.

    Quick question:

Could someone enlighten me a bit on who Alan Nixon is and if he is a reliable source?

He is a journalist for the Sun.

He is a bit of a standing joke, at times, but at other times he seems to get things spot on.

He clearly has sources, genuine sources, I'd imagine a few agents or people within the club.

He tends to get staffing issues correct, I seem to recall him breaking the Darren Bent joining us story too.

I read what he says, but dont put your house on what he reports.

Still in these dark daya people are too afraid to upset Mel.

If it's TRUE he said he could walk away and leave us in the lurch if we protest, I'm more than happy to test that threat.

Can no one just put if it was positive or not? Like rubbing it in we all know but won’t tell you others till tomorrow …

The fact that no one is saying anything, in my opinion, suggests there isnt anything good to say.

If we were on the verge of a takeover or things were going to be ok people would be scrambling to be the first to break the news.

I expect the meeting was just a lot of lip service without much substance.

That was a quote by you, what changed and is this the first time in your life as a businessman that you walked away before achieving your goal?

Didn't Chris Coles say on radio Derby last night that the bit with the EFL is now sorted and we can bring in players?

Itll be down to Mel and how much he is willing to be spent.

We have to remember that Mel basically has 1 foot out the door and if it is true he is only holding on because he isnt willing to let it go for what this American Consortium are willing to pay, I cant imagine he will he willing to spend much.

It's going to be a long hard season.
