There's now a 5 point gap between us and a play-off place and a massive 15 points from an automatic promotion place. Now I understand why Hoofball Warne got a 4 yr contract. It will be 4 years till all the footballing teams are promoted out of this division to give us a chance of making the play-offs. By then Pride Park attendances will drop down to about 12,000.

That last sentence sums up the c*** up of taking on Hoofball football Warne, giving him time to build a side would mean bringing in different players over a couple of transfer windows. Lets also remember, we are on a 2 year EFL business plan and can't buy players. Why would you let an interim manager bring in players for his possession style football then bin him after 9 games and bring in Mr Hoofball football manager and give him a 4 year contract to boot. If someone at the club persuaded Clowes that Rosenior was'nt the right man for the job, why bring in a manager that does'nt have the right squad players to change to a style that never succeeds in Championship or above. Lets not forget Rotherham, under Warne got relegated twice from the championship.

How do we back the manager in Jan when we can't spend money?
Loan players from the Prem? Which clubs would loan us a player who plays Warne style football? This isn't now premier kids are taught these days.
We won't win many games putting Square pegs in round holes. This is what Warne is doing. If he doesn't change his approach soon, we will slide down the table im afraid.

Christ,it's all gone dramatically negative after a narrow loss against a top 2 established side, especially amongst our die hard Liam (never actually in charge ) rosenior supporters...
Reminds me of the remainers who were desperately praying for the country to fail, just to prove they were right....they may be,I don't know but it's all rather unsavoury to watch.
Personally,I've actually rather enjoyed watching us play under Warne, there's an energy and aggression that's infectious (and I never thought I'd say that I like that style of play after being a massive fan of possession football under Mac).
Perhaps it's because Liam's style of possession football was so dull,so boring and plodding,so devoid of forward energy and attempts on goal that it stupified me into wanting something more exciting to watch and we now have just that for better or worse.
Warnes football will get us promoted in the long term,I've no doubt about that and I think we will ultimately win a lot more than we lose, even in his first season (plus I don't expect to see many draws,as we are balls out,all the time) but it's going to take time and personnel to finish the job and close our current weak areas off.
We only have the one club guys and Liam's gone,so let's get behind the gaffer...it's going to be a very long four years if we don't.

    I don’t know.
I don’t get the appointment. The whole first part of the season was a total waste of time. We’ve started from scratch just a couple of months after starting from scratch.
Would’ve made sense if we went with a manager who had some sort of continuity with the style of play.
It’s absolutely impossible to prove this, but based on what I saw in the first half of the season, we probably would have lost last night but would’ve created way more and come away feeling more positive. Under Rosenior, we controlled the ball and created, but we missed a load of chances. We probably would have given Ipswich more chances at our end too.
But at least the fans that travelled would have seen more action in front of goal.
I really can’t work out why we’ve decided to rip it all up and go with someone so different. We’re effectively back in pre-season with a manager trying to coach a new way of doing things. In October.

Sibley was brilliant under Cocu. He burst into the scene better than Micah Richards ever could!
Since then Rooney ruined his confidence and he hasn’t looked the same, he’s had glimpses but little consistency.

I actually disagree with some posters. I feel Sibley plays better when he’s on the edge, when he’s aggressive, a menace. He’s a shadow of that player at times. It’s been coached out of him. Yes, it’s important to be disciplined, but Sibley almost needs that aggression to be at his peak. Players like David Speedie, Dickov, Rooney they played their best on the edge. Sibley seems to have focussed so much on his discipline that he’s lost that edge. It’s like he plays within himself. I want the Sibley back that is a menace, that went toe to toe with McTominay. He can still be a key man this year. He’s one of our best attacking threats. Play him central and release the Sibley fury. If he gets sent off and misses 3 matches so be it, it’s better than 10 games of Louis playing within himself.

We can't spend in January on the EFL business plan, our only option is sack the manager and get one in that will work with the players we have.

Paul Warne only took up a coaching role in May 2012 with Rotherham, then promoted to Manager in 2016 at Rotherham. So far only with his second club (Derby) as a coach/manager. Clowes either himself or influenced by someone at the club decided to take on Warne, knowing his style of football coaching was different to Rosenior's. The recruitment by Rosenior in such a short time was very good and after only 9 league games (4 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats), he gets pushed out. Warne has matched Rosenior's defeats in just 6 games, 4 defeats if you count the penalty shoot out against League two Mansfield. I not saying Rosenior would have been the right man, but I saying that Paul Warne does'nt seem to be the right man so far. I hope I'm wrong because I want the team to do well. But is this the right choice for a longer term preference, His style of football got Rotherham relegated twice in the championship.

Just does'nt make sense, the appointment of Warne. I thought Rosenior, even though classed has inexperienced was slowly getting it right. Take his last game against Wycombe, 70% poss, 26 shots and 12 on target. Warne's tactics have not produced anywhere near that in any of his games so far. He's won 2 league games, could'nt beat Mansfield or Man City U21s in the Pappa Pizza cup and lost the other league games.

I feel a bit like "we've made our bed, gonna have to lie in it this time" with Paul Warne.
Given time we'll get good at being a paul warne team. Just might take too long for this season, in which case we might as well have given Liam Rosenoir the time.

I don't usually like the wrist slashers' comments immediately after a game but this time, I'm going to become one.
I had my doubts about Warne's style of play as he was joining us but those fears have just been strengthened further ever since.
Sure he seems a likeable enough guy (compare with wee Billy for example) and he wears a funny sparkling bobble hat.
But, from the little I've seen of Derby since his appointment, and including the full game against Ipswich tonight, if that's Warneball, then nah, no thanks.
Sure, he doesn't have the players to play the style he wants but each of the managers since Lampard could equally say that. For that reason, I'm willing to forego results and a promotion challenge this season.
But I would like to see a stylish, attacking form of football that I don't think we will ever see under Paul Warne. Whether that be in League One or if we get promoted back to the championship.
Fighting for every ball, being organised and productive at set pieces is important but it's not everything. This is meant to be the 'beautiful game' and Warneball just isn't beautiful.
(and it doesn't create that many more chances)
    Sorry.

It was a tongue in cheek reply to another comment about us getting promotion next season. I don't think we will be in a relegation battle this season. But I'm not convinced with our current manager, totally the wrong man for the job and would not be surprised if he gets the boot this season or the begining of next season.

I think we are all coming to the right conclusion, Paul Warne is not the right fit for this current squad of players we have. Somebody at Derby convinced Daid Clowes to bring him in and give him a 4 year contract. Clowes also stated after Warne's appointment that promotion was what he wanted this season. I stated straight away, after Warne was given the job, it was the wrong choice and I'm still convinced the club have balls up in this appointment.
