Kaide Gordon is still at school and not on a Pro contract. All we get is compensation. Just like with Liam Delap. Just like Swindon with Bogle.

How much can the board influence the fee? If they can approach him and just pay a compensation fee, maybe this deal works better for us than what any comp would be.
Let's be honest, we're not exactly the most attractive team to play for right now...

Well that was the case. He didn't play for over a year.
Any player on that salary will be insured against injury that ends there career or limits earnings.  Any club will insure the player due to injury re transfer cost at market value for replacement.
No insurer is going to pay out in this instance where there's been a clear dereliction of terms.  Why would the club lose out on a players. value, pay him a full wage and pay out for a replacement.   The fact they offered him any wage plus full use of state of the art medical facilities was an amazing offer.
The bloke caused his own downfall.  The only reason Lawrence and Bennett were retained by the club was they didn't get a custodial sentence.  Sure if someone had offered a few million for Lawrence he'd have been moved on at the earliest opportunity like Bennett.

    What inconsistency?
They could fulfil their contracted duties as professional footballers, Richard couldn't.

No Ince again for Stoke tonight, didnt travel with the squad.
Does make you wonder who the players Rooney has waiting to come in are?
CB - Jones (32Red star player?)
    Winger - Ince (loan?)
    CAM - Morrison (free)
    FWD - Davis (loan)
No doubting those 4 would improve us massively.

Keinan Davis on loan would be ideal imo. Younger & more mobile version of CKR. A target man to hold the ball up is clearly the plan for Rooney otherwise he would have kept Marriott, and Davis is perfect for this.
What we need is an attacking mid as well to make use of the hold up play as well as getting our wide men firing again.
No doubt Waghorn, Jozwiak, Lawrence & Ibe (if he ever gets fit) are decent attacking options when on their game.

Not sure if it's been said already but Keinan Davis from Aston Villa has been made available for loan. We wanted to sign him last transfer window but couldn't as Villa had other players out injured. Would give some good competition to Kazim-Richards and has a bit more pace.
    Thoughts?

What on God's green earth has the Bellingham deal got to do with Kaide? One's a transfer fee, for a player who'd had a whole season of senior squad football, the other is compensation for a player whose not even signed a pro contract yet, hasn't started a single senior match and apparently doesn't want to sign for Derby anyway! Cheers Kaide by the way!
How can you possibly compare the two? There is literally nothing we can do about it.

Think Wayne needs to pull a few strings and cash in every favour he'd owed to get the players we need to survive. Need a centreback, winger and striker for me. Another centre mid if i'm being greedy but at least 3 newbies.

£2m quoted on Sky. Scandalous if true.
Bellingham went for mega money having only played a few first team games.
    Typical Derby County giveaway.
    When will we ever learn?

Think that used to be the case but I think now for Academy players there is price structure automatically in place

The price will probably be the same regardless as it will be the compo money for an academy player

So many wunderkids at a young age don't go on to fulfil their potential. If we can get money for him (despite what @RoyMac5suggests - you see we do listen!) then I don't think it's the end of the world to move him on. Same with selling the likes of Luke Thomas. Try  to encourage a bidding war for a much sought after youngster and move on, if it lets us keep some of the other youngsters who are further on so we're surer of their development.

In my opinion we won't be selling him to "balance the books" or to pay wages. The sale of Gordon and any other outgoings is to give us financial space to play within FFP. At the moment we have little wiggle room, especially with COVID.
If this goes through along with the sale of others, it means the owners have a few incomings planned that they need to clear up money for.
If Kaide Gordon is truly the best 16 year old in the country and he knew it then he probably wouldn't sign for us on pro terms anyway. At least we'd get a fee for him now.

Given the current situation this would be unlikely but Conor Hourihane is meant to be available on loan. Would provide the creative spark we need imo

Think this issue was that CKR like Bielik wasn't properly match fit at the start of the season and now both are up to speed. Hopefully followed shortly by Jordon Ibe.

What I also like about CKR is that he seems to genuinely appreciate the backing he gets from the club as well.

Also, I think some credit needs to go to Cocu. Probably knew the signing wouldnt appease the fans but was smart enough to give CKR a few weeks training at the club to see how he was both as a player and as a person before signing him

Fair play to the guy. Hardly a signing to light up the summer but he's come in, is working hard and is having an impact on the pitch.
Definitely proving a few folk wrong or at least exceeding expectations. On his way to cult hero status if he keeps this up.

11 players on the pitch with his attitude we wouldnt be bottom 3 for long

I think he came in to be Waghorn's experienced backup and since sinking down the table it sounds like he's up for the challenge.
Not to say that he wasn't motivated before, but he strikes me as someone that thrives on having something to prove and a bit of a challenge. The bit in the Rams TV interview where he said he looked at the table and said to himself "we can defo do this" just made me think he absolutely thrives on this. He's not happy being where we are but he's pumped up to help change things. At this stage of his career he always has to find new challenges.
