…and yet we lost. We also gave away a penalty and had a player sent off because we didn’t have possession of the ball.
Blame the ref all you want, but if you keep the ball it doesn’t happen

With all this lambasting of the referee, has anyone considered that by conceding 71% possession as we did against Bolton it gives the opposition more than twice the opportunities to shoot, draw a foul, win a corner or in this case, win a penalty.
I would suggest that we are part of the problem in so far conceding so much possession of the football gives the referee’s a much greater opportunity of making a mistake to our detriment.

Other teams in our league, league one, aren't Barcelona either but they can pass it around more and play better football than us.

Funny that. I thought that we were in 7th place, only just outside the playoffs and playing good football as opposed to pub football.
LR had only around 10 games and a very small transfer window. PW has had getting on for a full season on charge and 2 transfer windows.

yes it took nigel several years to build that squad but the fact is he could still only get us playing mediocre football, languishing in mid table. As soon as mac took over the football improved massively and so did the league position. With the exact same squad. Therefore the manager makes a huge difference.
3 promotions in 4 seasons is great, well done. But they were all done with the same team and you have to ask the question, why has he never managed to keep them up after promotion? Perhaps theres only so far you can go playing that basic football? I would actually say he's definetely not the most likely manager to know how to use the players. He's only ever managed at one club before joining us, where he just played the same basic style his whole time there. He has never previously managed players that are capable of playing any other way.
We have the players and enough quality to play a passing style. It's what most of them are better at than what they're being told to do currently.
I think you've kind of admitted it yourself there. Your saying our weakness will be the same as warnes rotherhams in that we will be outplayed by championship sides. Therefore why are we sticking with him? Let's not forget we are being outplayed by league one sides too. The way he wants to play football is not going to work with the players we have. You seem to be underestimating just how good our players can be. They are almost all used to playing a better quality of football.

Don't agree with that at all to be honest.
Heres an example, playing under clough we were a fairly average mid table championship side. Mac comes in and implements an attacking, passing style of play, with the exact same players, and we transformed into promotion material.
Yes the rebuild has had to be cheap, but thanks to a clever and widely respected rosenior, we were able to attract some quality players, especially for this level. Why do we need to have spirit, fitness, organisation and play pragmatic football to get out this division. That will just make us like 95% of the other teams. We need to be better than them, not the same. How can you say trying to pass our way out of this division with this squad would be a disaster? The vast majority of our squad are used to playing that way and were signed with that style of play in mind.
Why do we have to give it this season and next season to try for promotion? We have the players now, we just need someone who knows how to use them.

    Good result for Hull yesterday.
While I am pleased for Liam, I can’t help lamenting our loss.
”It feels great as we have come to a massive club with a fantastic coach and team.
"Not just the win, but the manner of the performance and the way we stuck to our guns and pressed the ball. We played some outstanding football.
"I have been here for eight months and we wouldn't have been capable of doing that when I first came in. That's why I keep saying it's a process.

I was surprised that LR didn’t get a little more time. Felt that the players were happy and in his last game (was it Wycombe) they showed they he had their full support.
Big loss really, not just in results but in style of play. A lot of our fans have grown up watching an attractive style of football that is easy on the eye. Many of us will not put up with this PW anti football for very long…

I think it was Lincoln away that did for him & we were poor that night. Unfortunately for Liam, we hadnt converted dominance into goals in the previous 3 away league games (Charlton, Shrewsbury & Fleetwood) and so the narrative of us being impotent away from home was born. Richie Barker even made reference to it in an interview pre-Bolton...brass neck of him to come out with that & then deliver that garbage yesterday.
Rosenior leaving felt at the time & still does as a massive missed opportunity. I don't necessarily think we would've gone up last season but I think the foundations would be much stronger than they are now. Possession based football takes longer to implement (certainly more than the 8 games he got) but has a much higher chance of long term success. He also had connections higher up the pyramid (which he leveraged to bring in quality players) & an obvious affinity with the youth ranks. He was the man to help rebuild the club on the pitch.
Instead we brought in Captain Pinball, with all the fanfare about his 'promotion record' only to spend the last 12 months being finger-wagged that we shouldnt expect promotion & how he always needs another 6 months from the point at which he is questioned. We've gone backwards since Sep 2022 & that is a damning indictment on his appointment.

A lot is made of Rosenoir's away form, unfairly in my opinion (Deserved more against Charlton, Shrewsbury and Fleetwood).
But won 4 out of 5 at home, only losing to the eventual champions and beat a Championship side in the cup
Thought it was a mistake to get rid at the time, and yet to be convinced otherwise.

It can’t get much uglier surely! Ugly football, both last season and so far this season, is not producing the desired results.
Even when we get in a winning position we don’t keep the ball and try to control the game. Warne needs to change his approach and believe that football is also about skill and technique and not all about who can run furthest or fastest.
