I'm not missing them. Its fine to be down to the number that we are who are fully behind the team.

I'm sure the missing fans will miraculously return next week and so will the moans and groans when we dont score in the first 10 minutes.

What a self-righteous sanctimonious post ...   its not like the club don't need the money or anything.

Looking at Rooney's demeanour at the sky post match interview, I wouldn't be surprised that if there are 2 defeats v Hull and Boro that he walks.

He is clearly frustrated with everything going on, and in his eyes his standing as a coach or manager is diminishing with every game.

I would have thought his standing was not lowered by the win against Salford ... the opposite in fact.

  3. I don't know who else is to blame but the people who have been in charge of the club. I think we are paying the price of having

a one-person owner, who has not been responsible to anybody but himself for his actions. I don't see how he can avoid blame for

his choices when trying to sell the club, when all but him seemingly recognise a bad choice made much earlier. How many others are

there like myself who after 60 years ( with many ups and downs admittedly) have had their enthusiasm and love for the club knocked out

of them? We were in limbo most of last season but seem now to have moved to a deeper level of hell.

There's understandably much anger against Mel and his running of the club.

But bottom line is we are where we are. Mel is still trying to keep things ticking over, the EFL are trying to stop him.

Do you really need a pound of flesh (one definition: something that someone owes you that you take even though it will cause them to suffer)?

I don't. We need to move on and we can do that even with Mel still in charge, in my opinion obvs.

Action is far more important than anything else. There is much we don't know including Mel's health issues, though this is not to take  away Mel's ultimate responsibility for what has happened.

Utter baalocks I'm afraid..I would agree if people were supporting the team 100% but they are not are they?

Of course mistakes have been made but when some fans are actually gleeful when other results go against us that isn't supporting our club..

Lame response from you ... anyone who is a long time fan will know that however we might despair or be out of sympathy once a match starts we can do no other than support the club. Fans like you simply can't take any criticism of the club and have to rationalise by 'deciding' some fans want the club to fail.

Yes just a coincidence that WR tells him he has to do more, be more confident and take more chances and he does that.

But blind of you not to take note of the much more attacking formation & intent,  the other players he was on with. He can't show his skill if there are no other players getting forward for him to exchange passes to. If he had been on in the first half he would have failed like everyone else.

Started in 2 of the opening 3 defeats at the start of the season. Dropped completely following the Blackburn thrashing and seemed to be the one of the players to get a heap of the blame for that despite all 4 goals coming from defensive errors.

Then it took until Rooney's first game as manager (Wycombe) for him to start another game, playing in a very defensive lineup (Wisdom and Fozzy fullbacks, Evans at DM, Holmes on the wing). He was dropped from the starting lineup again following that.

He eventually returned to the starting lineup over a month later - the 4-0 thrashing vs Birmingham. He was one of the best players that day and if it wasn't for rustiness (having rarely played all season) he could have come home with a hattrick rather than no goals. Started the next game against Sheff Weds and certainly wasn't the only bad player that day, yet only he and Fozzy were dropped for the next league game.

Only given 2 consecutive starts all season!

Excellent post. Sibley has had a poor deal , though admittedly it might be his discipline that has cost him. He has great skill and thinking back to the way he linked up play with Chris Martin last season, surely he has something to offer us now.

Rooney is making far too many changes in team selection match to match and as you point out the " only 2 consecutive starts " is a very telling stat.

i will say again , if he had stayed at Derby he probably got us promoted and his cv would have looked alot better than it does now.

this talk about it was a job in a life time and he could not turn it down is bullsh@t, the chelsea job comes around every 2-3 years.

yes it was a great season under frank imo as all fans to mel were as 1. i did 35 games that season flying over as i too was enjoying the the Lampard's Derby euphoria  so no sympathy from me

Whilst it was a very good season under Lampard he did make mistakes. His changes in team selection  were sometimes hard to understand. If he had been wiser he might have stayed and achieved something before moving on to his dream job. It was always going to be a high risk move given Chelsea's recent history. He's too intelligent not to have understood this so  that moderates any sympathy from me. However, given what they did at Derby Lampard/Morris won't have too much trouble getting another job.

Our best player today and by a long stretch. Folk have asked why he's not played much thus far but I suspect he's only just getting to a place where he's fit enough to start. Got loads of stick from some quarters but I think he's shown something each time he's been on the pitch. Clearly Cocu knew.

This is a cop out . Cocu could have used him more, in his last couple of matches for example, when his team selections were rotten
