r4derby got a reaction from Steve How Hard? in Huddersfield Town (A) Matchday Thread
Lots of understandable negativity, but a positive to focus on - the away fans sound brilliant on radio Derby while I make dinner. Can hear every song. Those fans are doing us proud!

Used to make the trip from Bedford with my Dad. Now it’s shorter trip from the other side of the M1 in north Nottm. Meet him from his longer trip on train which he still makes weekly.

Try the app ‘Your Parking Space’. It shows some parking spots near the stadium and prices (depending how long you want to park for) anything from driveways to property car parks. I’ve used it to park at the Premier Inn twice. Bit of a walk (compared to old fire place) but it’s cheap and traffic is fine when I get back to car at end of the match. No hassles.

r4derby got a reaction from Comrade 86 in Rate the last film you saw partie deux
I’m a fan of the MCU and Marvel in general, and I can’t disagree with too much of that summary. The film all feels a bit out of of place from even the ‘ever-expanding multiverse’, introducing a lot of new heroes who don’t appear to add much and are bland.
I did enjoy Black Widow and Shang-Chi though. Maybe it is becoming a thing for the fans, with audiences becoming more split as more knowledge of the universe is required to watch the films. I’m just hoping this years slate of films (which looks promising) is more along the Ragnarok/Black Panther mold.

I love Muppets Christmas Carol. It’s a tradition in our house to watch it on Christmas Eve before the kids bedtime. But I can definitely use the facilities and make a cuppa during the ghost of Christmas past scenes (bar maybe Fozziwigs party) there’s a good 15 mins there

Saw it the same night. Agree with your assessment, but would add I liked the pacing of the beginning. Too often films rush along nowadays.
Not especially memorable but if they were going to do it, the way they did it worked pretty well. People say "never go back", but sometimes we do. Slightly better than an Andre Wisdom/10 but I can't think of another player with 2 stints to compare it with.

Saw Matrix Resurrections this evening. Very low expectations after poor reviews. It was fine. Bit slow to start, but becomes more Matrixy as the film goes on. I enjoyed it, without much of it likely to stick with me for very long. They didn’t need to make it and who knows if they will carry on making more

When you look at the roster of characters, particularly key ones, that Marvel have, there are a lot who are based around big powers much bigger than a human dressed in a costume. They were going to move in this direction, so how they did it was important. When you look at the Infinity Saga, Endgame was the perfect ending to the first Earth based phases. They will now go bigger, cosmic and sillier. Some will get off the MCU train at this point, but many will have your mentality which is Feige - show us what you got! And that’s where I am too.
There will be a natural power curve, leaving some heroes behind sadly. Like how could Hawkeye compete with an Eternal? He couldn’t. But with bigger bads coming, Marvel will have to ensure that the storylines still make some sense, even in a fantastical fiction sense.
Thought Eternals was slow and a bit dull. It suffered from too many super powered people fighting new ‘grey’ baddies. It felt a bit too much of a jump in terms of power curve. Shang Chi I thought was really good. He’s powerful but not ridiculously so and it introduced dragons to the universe. Along with vampires, zombies, and other bizarre creatures, it could appear a bit too much. But now that the multiverse is a thing, they’ve got the ability to tell those stories without impacting the main stories too much!

Really excited by doctor strange, black panther 2 should be good, and Thor love and thunder should be a riot, Taika Waititi can do no wrong. Is blade coming out this year as well? Think it might be later, but i can’t wait for that.
I don’t know the comics. And I think that’s fine and almost how it should be. This is a new medium for a new audience. Although I do like watching the YouTube breakdowns afterwards to see where all the references were, and then pretending to my wife that I know what I’m taking about.

Yep. I’ve not done the chronological order yet, but that’s the plan the next time I watch through. Hopefully with my son, who is nearly old enough to watch (and appreciate) all of them!

Loved Spider-Man NWH. Few gasps in the cinema, which added to the moments.
Im an MCU fan, and enjoy the movies for what they are. We have reached a point where people are going to start losing track of different storylines and characters across the TV shows and movies, but for me it all just adds to the excitement. I’m really looking forward to seeing where they are going to take things.
Doctor Strange next. Looks like things are going to kick on another level.

Peter Jackson's King Kong can be left alone for a good hour or so before tuning in.

Watched Spiderman last night, loved it. No spoilers, would recommend anyone to watch it at the cinema.

Sadly not surprising that this time of year is not all peace and joy for some, as evidenced when reading some of the comments. My prayer for you all is that you would find some comfort this year.
For us, with 3 small children running around, it’s presents and breakfast, then a trip to the park for some carols (local Salvation Army band playing) then lunch, movies and chocolate. We have lots more in the build up to the day.

Community is just excellent. I’ve rewatched it several times, and still giggle through most episodes.

Spaced is probably my favourite UK one.
I loved Modern Family for many of the series, but Community is the best US one.
